Thanks @SunnySideUp2020.

Lovely scan today. I haven't got the foggiest whether it's a boy or girl, look forward to finding out Wink

Glad your scan went well too @MilsCookie. Your girls are just keeping you on your toes!

Looking at the list is crazy - @BecsterG you're so close!!

Thanks for putting it up, @ChampooPapi. I am with you on the dislike of pregnancy. Some women really enjoy it; I am not one of those women. I had to ask 2 people to pick stuff up for me that I dropped in shops today - I just don't bend in the right places any more! Madam is running out of room and pokes me with razor sharp limbs if I dare sit down, I was up to pee 8 times(!!) the other night, and none of my knickers fit properly. This better be one cute baby!! Grin

AlviesMam · 23/09/2020 20:05

@FireflyGirl
I have spoken to the hospital and have another meeting with them in two weeks, the delivery suite manager has allowed my husband from the very start if I end up getting induced so that's comforting to know, restrictions for no visitors are still in place and he has to still leave two hours after I've given birth so I'm hoping I get discharged pretty quick.

I'm trying to plan some hypnobirthing if I end up having a natural labour, have some spa oils in my hospital bag lol! And I've downloaded Freya.

My contractions with Alvie hurt like hell but we're manageable I had gas and air and pethadine. What I found worse than the contractions was when he transitioned into the birth canal ready for me to push, that pressure was something else I felt like I wasn't in control of my body. I was 22 weeks with Alvie so I'm so scared of a full term baby's pressure sorry if I'm scaring anyone this is just my experience!!

@SunnySideUp2020 Birth plan for me is hypnobirthing, relaxing as possible at the start, pouring my spa oils into a tissue and smelling them with every contraction 😂 won't say no to drugs depends how much I can handle the pain this time! I just want to kind of go with the flow and take advice off the professionals. I will ask to be induced if I approach 40+5 I don't want to go over more than that. Going to try and handle the pain at home from the start so I don't go into early to then get sent back home.... but who knows because plans usually go tits up! 😂

scrumdiddly123 · 23/09/2020 21:06

Eeek I know @SunnySideUp2020 one more week to go!
Keep going @ChampooPapi you’re doing great! 😘
Great news you’ve had another positive scan @MilsCookie!
@AlviesMam have you looked at any hypnobirthing? I used that with my last baby and had an amazing labour, felt totally in control all the way through! Trust your body that it knows what to do when the time comes and you can absolutely do it 🥰

BecsterG · 23/09/2020 22:04

@FireflyGirl Ekk I know. This is as far as I got with my son but we'll see what this one does. I'm fairly happy for now although don't feel it will be too long.

Thanks for updating the list @ChampooPapi. So lovely to see the weeks progressing for everyone.

@AlviesMam I'd try not to worry about the labour if I was you. I know it's had not to but you will be great when the time comes. You and your body will do what you need to do. As my mum said to me when I was close with my son, if I can do it so can you! You got this!! 💪🏻

I'm also another one that doesnt enjoy pregnancy! I'm exceptionally grateful to my body for being able to do it, and there are elements I really enjoy - like watching my bump grow and feeling them moving about. But most of it isn't for me. Im tired, slow, anxious and hormonal - its hard work!! Keep going @ChampooPapi we will all get there eventually!
@AlviesMam I've just started to read the positive birth book, it does what it says and talks about birth positively! It says we have all been trained to think of it as this awful negative thing we have to endure and actually it isn't...maybe give that a go? I've found it quite interesting so far!
@MilsCookie great news for your scan again 💞
@BecsterG you are so close!! I do hope @zoey36 is OK though, she hasn't been on for a long while.

Leok83 · 24/09/2020 07:57

@SunnySideUp2020 fantastic news on the scan! And nearly at the second trimester🎉

@MilsCookie so good to hear you had another positive scan too!

@ChampooPapi thanks for updating the list and sorry you are feeling so crappy. I can only imagine how hard it is carrying twins. You are nearly there though..so close!!

SunnySideUp2020 · 24/09/2020 14:10

Our combined screening came back lowest possible so that's one thing out of the way! ✌

BS9790 · 24/09/2020 14:24

In for the second time due to fetal tachycardia 😩
Roll on due date...

SunnySideUp2020 · 24/09/2020 15:02

@BS9790 hope everything will be ok 🙏

BecsterG · 24/09/2020 15:21

What's that @BS9790 ?

OP posts:
Whiffle77 · 24/09/2020 16:16

Good luck @BS9790, hope all is OK

FireflyGirl · 24/09/2020 16:24

Great news, @SunnySideUp2020! Are you due your nipt results by the end of next week as well?

Flowers @BS9790, what a little monkey. Not long now, though, and at least you're in the right place! Are they keeping you in?

BS9790 · 24/09/2020 17:16

@BecsterG, basically a racing fetal heart rate (not sure if I spelt it right ha!)

I'm home now, was still mega high 2 hours later but did eventually go back down.
Then after that I had to spend a further hour on the monitor as it didn't pick up any accelerations/movements. Just a consistent trace 😩

They did a scan and baby is now classed as large for gestational age too... 97th centile for estimated weight. Which is a bit unnerving as with my low platelets, they're still dropping so it's looking like I won't be able to have spinal, epidural, forceps etc.

5 weeks to go 😩😩

Leok83 · 24/09/2020 17:56

@BS9790 oh no, hopefully it all settles down soon. Will they induce you a bit earlier if bubs keeps growing at that rate?

@SunnySideUp2020 that's great news on the combined screening..what do they do for combined screening?
I really feel like I got left in the dark about this after my appointment, apparently some ladies do get NT in Ireland (and I never knew before scan to ask) so I've no idea if it was measured now. Harmony results should be back next week though so hopefully I'll have a better idea then as to where I stand!

SunnySideUp2020 · 24/09/2020 18:19

@Leok83 so during the scan the doc looked at baby's heart, brain, kidneys, stomach, spine, legs and arms, some ducts veins or whatever the name is and nasal bone. He also measured CRL, baby's heartbeat and NT. Looked at placenta and cord in like a blue and red color thing. Think it's blood going through. He measured the pulse in my uterus arteries both sides i think and measured my cervix.
Then had blood test done for papp a and b hcg.

In the combined screening report the factors are:
My age, if i had ivf or not, my ethnicity, my age, my weight, smoking or not, gestational diabete, previous chromosomal issues, Fetus CRL, nasal bone there or not, NT, my blood papp A and B hcg.

Hope that helps if you want to ask for it.
But your harmony results are also good for checking for trisomies.

@FireflyGirl hopefully nipt results in 9 days now :)

SunnySideUp2020 · 24/09/2020 18:19

@BS9790 would you ask to be induced if baby is too big or it's becoming too stressful?

SunnySideUp2020 · 24/09/2020 18:21

@Leok83 just to mention though i am not in the UK and currently under private care until we get married and i can go via normal route.
So i can't comment on how it would be elsewhere...

BS9790 · 24/09/2020 20:08

@Leok83 @SunnySideUp2020 they don't induce for big babies apparently! Unless there's a medical reason which would impact the baby such as gestational diabetes etc x

Leok83 · 24/09/2020 20:18

@SunnySideUp2020 thanks for the info. That sounds so thorough! I definitely didnt get all that so very glad I went for the harmony test now. I also was concerned about my 20 week scan being at almost 23 weeks so I have booked a private one with a consultant for the 20 weeks and my DH can come too..glad we went for this now as sounds like my 12 week scan was very much completely rushed through. We thought about going private here for the entire pregnancy but it's €4500😬😬 and we still have so much to do in house we couldn't justify it!

Leok83 · 24/09/2020 20:21

@BS9790 oh really! Hopefully he slows down growing now for the next few weeks for you so!you are so nearly there now, can't believe how many of you ladies are so close now. Very exciting although I imagine very daunting for you too.

BecsterG · 25/09/2020 05:13
