@SunnySideUp2020 amazing update! So so happy for you, wonderful and moving news actually, really felt those tears pricking reading your update on the scan. You've come a long way girl!
I agree with @scrumdiddly123 on the girl prediction, guess we'll know pretty soon anyway. My nipt came back less then a week later so sure yours won't be as much as ten days. Keep an eye on your junk folder too, just incase it gets sent there by accident.
I have anterior placentas for all my pregnancies so far, I think if you want to go in and are worried you always should, and no one should ever judge a woman for that. Especially when you are a first time mum and just don't know what is normal to feel with an anterior.
I personally haven't gone in for monitoring with any of mine purely because of blind faith I suppose, and the fact that I have delivered two healthy baby girls, who often I didn't feel for a good 24 hours even post 30 weeks who never had an established pattern. Having that faith and understanding of they way things can be with an anterior placenta gives me the confidence though that anyone who is new to having one doesn't have.
I don't feel my twins often even at 31 weeks. Another side of it m is I know it would create so much anxiety for me personally, especially currently with covid as well as the other hospital born infections and sickness/diharea bugs going round this time of year, I just don't want to make any trips into hospital unless it's for my scans. But that of course helps with this pregnancy because I am having them a lot more regularly then a singleton.
A good place post 30 weeks can be contacting a midwife who can reassure you with having a Doppler if you are concerned but don't want another trip to the hospital, though obviously they can't see anything so it's only for peace of mind for you , they could miss something that is vital and wrong which a scan would of course pick up.
You'll know what approach is right for you and they really don't mind how often you go in after a certain gestation of course. Pre 30 weeks I'd really try and stay as pragmatic and calm as possible because even with two I've only started feeling larger and more 'regular' movements around then. It's a real bugger because you've got all these women saying they are getting regular kicks and kick counting and big movements from like 18 weeks sometimes! So you feel like there is something wrong but it's really really normal for no pattern to establish with anterior placentas. You can see on the monitor when your scanned how much they wiggle but you aren't feeling it, so take comfort in that.
Hey @Whiffle77, I'm ok thanks, very kind of you to ask, it's like you knew I was disintegrating slightly! Which I kind of am but I'm also ok and just counting those days until I can take to my bed essentially. I've lost a lot of my enthusiasm and just feel like I'm going through the motions dayly now, it's pre natal baby blues and I've had it before, never had it post natally touch wood, and always so capable and happy post labour and love love love the newborn phase, love very phase really of being a mum. But the last 2 months of pregnancy I start to really fester and go down hill. Trying to do things to keep the spirits up, chocolate helps! And I do find sorting and organising baby bits puts me a very restful place. However wanted the end result, I am not and never will be a fan of pregnancy itself, it's a drain on all my resources, mental and physical!
