@LottieDot ah really? Mines at 10am

DSP21 · 03/09/2020 10:25

@Mercuryfreddie thinking of you and hope all is well x

chloxhunt · 03/09/2020 10:34

@Mercuryfreddie good luck today!

Taylortyler · 03/09/2020 10:37

Just rang the hospital for my scan tomorrow to see if my hubby can come in and they said no. I really hope the woman who answered the phone is not the one doing scans because she sounded like a miserable bitch. Where do they find all these rude and miserable people to work on the phones? It's like the nhs put out a job advert for the least helpful, rudest, most miserable people to work on reception desks.

chloxhunt · 03/09/2020 10:39

@Taylortyler where I'm going for my scans they're announcing in the next two weeks whether or not partners can come to the 20 week scan and that's it

Taylortyler · 03/09/2020 10:43

@chloxhunt it really pisses me off that he could go and visit someone on a ward for an hour- but sitting next to me while I potentially hear the worst news isn't ok. If they put the ultrasound in a pub- my entire village could attend!

chloxhunt · 03/09/2020 10:44

@Taylortyler yeah I know it's annoying but it's for everyone's health

JTB123 · 03/09/2020 11:00

@LottieDot oh that's reassuring! Fingers crossed everything is ok, it's the WORST anxiety isn't it!

@DSP21 think you're an April baby with me aren't you? So I haven't even got a date for my 12 weeks yet! NHS think I'm 10+5 so I should hopefully receive a letter real soon 😩

LottieDot · 03/09/2020 11:02

I think its really unfair the scan situation, especially how inconsistent it is, you think it would be a nationwide policy (excluding local lockdowns). I'm really lucky that one person is allowed in for both scans here currently (could change by 20 weeks if the situation gets worse) and I'm so grateful that my husband can be there to support me. I just hope the numbers stay low so it doesn't change back.

DSP21 · 03/09/2020 11:05

@JTB123 I'm on the fence atm! According to lmp i'm 10+5 (and still no nhs scan date either) but at my early scan at what I thought was 7+3 i was measuring 6+3, putting me in the April bracket. I've just been using lmp until the proper dating scan at 12 weeks though which puts me at a due date of 27th/28th March!

Sussexbysea · 03/09/2020 11:15

@Taylortyler I agree, I understand that each trust is different because of local lockdown etc. But everyone can go to the pub!

Fact for you.... my friend works in path lab at the hospital and she said that she’s been running the antibody clinic for NHS staff and more than half that were tested had already had Covid and were working in the hospital not knowing they had it! They aren’t testing enough

Theonewheretherewas4 · 03/09/2020 11:22

Hello everyone SmileIv just rejoined after a few months away. I didn’t participate much In the last thread I was on but just found reading about others on the same journey comforting. I’m due my 4th on March the 4th! Iv got 3 ds and had a miscarriage in between ds1 and 2 so I feel like in some ways Iv experienced and learned a lot but also that I have so much still to learn as pregnancies and births are so different! Wishing everyone a lovely Thursday Smile

chloxhunt · 03/09/2020 11:27

@Sussexbysea but pregnant women are more at risk of getting it which is why they want less people coming in and out

DSP21 · 03/09/2020 11:27

@Theonewheretherewas4 welcome, And love the name!

Sussexbysea · 03/09/2020 11:29

@chloxhunt I’ve had it so I’m fully aware.

But partners are only sitting on a chair watching the scan.

Sussexbysea · 03/09/2020 11:31

Ladies who have had their 12 week NHS dating scan, did you have to take a wee sample?

MrsAndMrs · 03/09/2020 11:39

Hiya ladies,

I've been quiet past couple of days cause I've been knackered and frustrated with my work. I'm based in a hospital and I've been marked down by my midwife as a high risk pregnancy and guidance states I should be working from home but managers are acting as if I'm at it. I don't know what to do 😶

Babafarmer · 03/09/2020 11:40

No they didn't when I went on Tuesday x
Theonewheretherewas4 · 03/09/2020 11:40

No they prefer you to have a fullish bladder for the scan

chloxhunt · 03/09/2020 11:44

@Sussexbysea yeah I know but it's more people coming in and out the hospital I'm high risk even without the pregnancy I have very strong opinions on it all because of it

holb54 · 03/09/2020 11:46

@Taylortyler I agree about the receptionists, genuinely don't know where they find some of them 🤷🏼‍♀️

@MrsAndMrs that's a disgrace, you're following medical advice, nothing else. I'd go in to them as soon as you can and get it sorted.

chloxhunt · 03/09/2020 11:48

@MrsAndMrs have you not had to do a risk assessment at work?

ValidUser · 03/09/2020 11:48

@MrsAndMrs they're risking a fairly handsome lawsuit by not respecting medical advice to a pregnant woman.

DSP21 · 03/09/2020 11:53

@Sussexbysea haven't had my 12 week scan but do have to take a wee sample with me. Wondering what the hell to take it in?! They didn't provide a container!

MrsAndMrs · 03/09/2020 12:02

Thanks guys. I've had to chase for a risk assessment even though my boss has known since I was 5 wks and I'm 12 tomorrow. I've now filled out all the relevant paperwork they've provided me with today and getting a risk assessment tomorrow but I'll likely not know anything more until at least Monday! My OH is really unhappy about it 😕
