@TheFoz aww that's so cute

aureliacecilia · 02/09/2020 18:34

Assuming my scan goes well on 15th then I would be happy to move over to Facebook too. I want to have the scan, tell some friends and family, tell work, etc. & then I'll be much more relaxed. I kept my first pregnancy largely to myself until 20 weeks (mostly as I was worried about something going wrong but also I felt awkward about being pregnant at a fairly young age in a professional job) but I'd like to take a different approach this time and roll with it. I was 27 when I had DS and had been married for two years but it felt like women where I worked only had children after 35 once they were established. I was just starting out in comparison! I'll be 32 having this baby which, judging by the explosion of pregnancy and birth announcements on my Facebook friends' list, is a pretty normal time for my peers to be having their firsts!

Great scan, @TheFoz!

Thank you for the Jelly Cat tip too, @Sussexbysea. I think we're going to go for lunch after my scan and if all is well will pop into John Lewis, as I'm pretty sure they are stocked there.

Mrs1989 · 02/09/2020 19:19

@TheFoz congratulations on your scan! Hope you have a restful evening xxx

ValidUser · 02/09/2020 19:31

I'd join a Facebook group!

I'm Irish too, still living there and located in the wesht.

@TheFoz beautiful picture.

Babafarmer · 02/09/2020 19:32

@Sussexbysea @DSP21 I totally empathise with how you are feeling. I hated waiting for my scan and time just seemed to stand still. I hated that I couldn't get excited and my world was consumed by worry. I didn't really have any symptoms and over analyse evening. I'm have a history of anxiety and can't step away from google and this just makes it worse. I was heart broken when the news of the two baby's and also thought I should step away from the forum. But for me I don't think the worry will ever stop. I'm now consumed with worry of waiting for the combined test and so wished I have an nipt. I'm still tempted to book one for Friday as there is an available date and I'm convinced myself that I'm getting bad news. Going to the scan by myself yesterday was awful and then today they now announced they are allowing partners again 😡

I really hope you can take something positive from my scan yesterday. I really thought that something had happened like the other ladies after my 10 week private scan especially since my boobs went soft and smaller. Sending millions of positive vibes in the hope of them in return.

Facebook group would be fab xxx

Wren1986 · 02/09/2020 19:33

Had my scan this afternoon and everything looks normal, measured 3 days ahead so now due March 12th! I was up all night worrying about everything so it was such a relief to see baby bouncing about!
1/2 pint of water was fine by the way for the scan, had a clear image very quickly.

holb54 · 02/09/2020 19:34

@ValidUser oh my God, I'm Dublin born but actually living in Mayo since I was young! Can't believe there's someone in the west on this page 😂

holb54 · 02/09/2020 19:38

@Wren1986 congrats on your scan 💕

TheFoz · 02/09/2020 19:47

I’m in the north west of Ireland! Born and bred!

Thack · 02/09/2020 19:49

What is a jelly cat??

My midwife said to call on the day of the scan to ask about DH as it changes. I'm going to call this week to see where they are up to, leaves time to fit in a private scan first!

I'm in North Wales. Up for a Facebook group, but it's two weeka til my scan and I don't want to announce straight away, so I'll be a bit behind.

My only buy so far is a soft, non-underwired bra. It's amazing, I don't think I can go back now!

spierse · 02/09/2020 20:00

Ha ha are the Irish taking over 😂 should have known with such a chatty bunch that there would be a few of us on here! Lol
@TheFoz congrats on the scan today, so nice to have so many positive scans this week, really praying that we are all good from here on out, everyone deserves to be happy xx

ElsiesJourney · 02/09/2020 20:02

My scan was nerve wracking but all good!!! Despite drinking copious amounts of water my bladder wouldn't fill up, she tried internal went back to external... then the little minx kept curling up/ doing somersaults and even doing what can only be described as a moonie.

So, poor quality images but eventually after about 40 minutes and a very patient radiologist all was measured and I was given the green bill of health. I thought I was dead on 13w but actually today's size suggests 12w+3 so not far out.

I was petrified before hand, so glad it's out of the way... on to the next few days of surviving sickness.

Thinking of you all with scans coming up, the wait is excruciating.

Sussexbysea · 02/09/2020 20:33

@ElsiesJourney so glad yours went well.

I think my little one has known how anxious I’ve been feeling and the flutters have been the strongest I’ve felt tonight

Sussexbysea · 02/09/2020 20:35

@Thack they are a soft toy brand but they are made really well and there’s so many different types you can get. All different animals and like I found out in the garden centre, they now do vegetables 😂

holb54 · 02/09/2020 20:43

@TheFoz I'd noticed you'd said mammy or mam in a previous comment and did think you might be 😂

@Thack north Wales is lovely, have only been a few times but used to live in Swansea from the ages of 3-7 😊

holb54 · 02/09/2020 20:44

@ElsiesJourney congrats on your scan! 💛

ValidUser · 02/09/2020 20:50

@holb54 small world! I work in Mayo.

holb54 · 02/09/2020 20:53

@ValidUser very small, hard to believe 😅

TheFoz · 02/09/2020 21:14

@holb54 that’s gas 😂😂 no flies on you astór!

SnickerdoodleSnek · 02/09/2020 21:46

Congrats on your scans @TheFoz @ElsiesJourney @Wren1986! Glad things are looking good!

I'd absolutely be down for a Facebook group after my scan. 😊 I'm from Leicestershire in East Midlands btw!

LandMammal · 02/09/2020 22:14

heeey @Thack I'm a North Walian as well, North West Walian 🤗

Mercuryfreddie · 02/09/2020 22:39

Glad everyone's scan went well!

I've had such an awful day Sad. Had severe sickness this morning then fresh red blood on wiping. Wasn't sure if I'd just nicked myself with my nail, as it didn't seem to be mixed in with discharge but it continued throughout the day and I couldn't see exactly where it was coming from. Phoned the midwife who said because I'm only 10 weeks with no pain I could either wait for my scan in 3 weeks or go to a&e. The blood continued so I've been in a&e all day but the earliest they can scan me is first thing tomorrow morning Sad just praying everything is ok. I had a scan at 8+4 and everything looked perfect but I'm just so worried Sad

PhotoMum4 · 02/09/2020 22:39

Lovely to see so many scan photos! Mine is Friday, anxious despite seeing healthy baby at private scan on Friday. After MMC in May I just don’t trust my body!

I’m still so sick! On two different anti sickness medications and still vomiting several times a day and nauseous day and night! So exhausted from it all. Just want to sleep, but can’t get away with a nap at work 😂.

Hope you are all feeling well and the anxiety is staying at bay.

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 02/09/2020 22:49

@Mercuryfreddie how stressful for you, I really hope everything is ok on the scan tomorrow 🤞🏻💞
