Ok so I'm currently freaking out a little- went to the loo and had a little bit of blood, not a lot just a little when I wiped. I haven't had any bleeding till now, scan at 9 weeks was fine and all looked good. I've got no cramping. It was red not brown... what should I do?

chloxhunt · 30/08/2020 19:40

@Taylortyler it might not be anything, I had spotting and it was a salmon colour and they couldn't find the cause of it, contact your midwife or your gp they should book you in for a scan

Taylortyler · 30/08/2020 19:44

@chloxhunt I'm just going to have to sit tight until Tuesday - I spoke to the nearest birthing centre because my midwife gave me their number and it's 24/7 advice; they said to monitor it and if it gets bad and I get pain to go to a&e but that I'd probably be better calling 111 tomorrow and asking for an out of hours gp

chloxhunt · 30/08/2020 19:52

@Taylortyler honestly 111 weren't any help for me they told me they couldn't diagnose me with anything and then said it was a threatened miscarriage and I just have to monitor it and relax

Phie04 · 30/08/2020 21:30

I know this sounds rank but need to ask of anyone else has experienced this. All day today when going to the loo I could smell period blood? Nothing was there but it literally smelt like I had a soaked pad on 🤢. Any one else smelt this? I feel like I'm about to start bleeding. I've also been getting twinges today and most of my symptoms has pretty much disappeared. I've had so much more energy, less sickness and no boob pain except for sore nipples. I dont think il be getting good news on Tuesday at the 12 wk scan.

Taylortyler · 30/08/2020 22:26

@Phie04 I think it may be because your sense of smell is heightened - I read that you can produce more fluids and get a bit sweaty/smelly and that may be what it is. Try not to worry too much I know it's so difficult

chloxhunt · 30/08/2020 22:37

@Phie04 well your ph levels will change so that'll change the smell, you'll be fine! My symptoms come and go! And it's normal for symptoms to go anyways

SnickerdoodleSnek · 30/08/2020 23:40

@Phie04 Try not to stress lovely! If you're close to 12 weeks then it's normal for symptoms to be lessening. Second tri tends to be much easier and the placenta takes over, so symptoms tend to calm down.

You've only got two days until your scan, you've totally got this. If you're concerned then bring it up at your scan, but I'm sure you'll be fine.

Sussexbysea · 31/08/2020 06:58

@Phie04 I agree with @SnickerdoodleSnek . Once the placenta takes overs things start to calm down. In the first trimester it’s all hormone led so symptoms will feel quiet different after 12 weeks.

How long till your scan?xx

DSP21 · 31/08/2020 07:52

@chloxhunt that's reassuring that you also measured small, I know they say not to look too much into it at an early stage but you hear so many stories, and people advising 'if baby is small get checked because it wasn't good news for me' and you think shit that might be me!

@ChilternsHan ahh you're so lucky that partners are allowed to the scans. I just dread going in there alone and getting bad news so I definitely couldn't wait! Luckily i'm working through bank hol so it's making the days go by quicker. I have zero symptoms since about 9 weeks and i'm trying not to read too much into that! I did speak to the gp and explain they disappeared very suddenly but they weren't bothered

@Oldermum80 you are so sweet, and definitely have been a little saviour of mine on here when times have felt uncertain. I just can't relax or enjoy myself until 12 weeks so just hoping all is well on my scan on Thurs, and again in 2 weeks after that at the dating scan! Definitely wishing time away right now!

Does anyone else wake up with terrible back pain? No matter what I do or where I'm sleeping my lower back is in agony every morning (ooh could this be a symptom?!)

chloxhunt · 31/08/2020 08:04

@DSP21 but that's their story not ours, mine was an internal scan they would've noticed something? If there's a strong heart beat that's all that matters! Because my 2nd was measuring 3 days smaller so literally bang on a week difference but that's also a day off of my lmp

LuHen · 31/08/2020 08:30

@DSP21 mine measured half a week behind I wouldnt worry at all. I try to think there is a reason that the dating scan is 12 weeks, likely to be tricky to tell an accurate date earlier Smile

My symptoms have gone too as of the last week, been out running and everything which is crazy! Hope its still in there Grin

I've just randomly bought a next to me crib because it was only £105 on wayfair. Figured I can send it back if required once I've had my scan next week!

spierse · 31/08/2020 08:49

@DSP21 I wake up constantly with lower back and hip pain. So glad I'm not the only one whose symptoms constantly change, I'm 10+7 and have woken up this morning and feel good, no headache no sickness, no sore boots, its totally freaked me out especially after yesterday's fight, feel like I killed the baby with all my shouting 😔

MrsAndMrs · 31/08/2020 09:26

Good morning ladies!

@Phie04 please try not to stress yourself out too much! Like the other girls have said, its normal for symptoms to come and go and now your approaching 12 weeks it is likely they'll start to ease a bit. I know it's easier said than done but hang in there! I had the same worries cause my baby measured a few days smaller at my 7 wk scan and we booked another 11 week scan cause I was getting anxious and we weren't sure partners were gonna get into hospital scans and there my little pumpkin was, having a wee party in there and measuring 1 day bigger!

The first trimester is sooooo much harder than I ever remember it being but thats the beauty of this group, we can all talk each other round when we need it!

SnickerdoodleSnek · 31/08/2020 09:37

@spierse Try not to stress yourself out lovely. You're getting close to the end of first tri so symptoms disappearing is pretty common. I'm sure it's unrelated.

I'm definitely having back issues, but mine was bad before pregnancy, so it's not much of a change for me sadly. I just try and stretch out as best I can and lay on my side to avoid the back and hip pain, but it sometimes takes a lot of shuffling about!

chloxhunt · 31/08/2020 09:44

Got my first shift since March which me luck guys 😭

spierse · 31/08/2020 09:48

Good luck @chloxhunt 🤞

chloxhunt · 31/08/2020 09:51

@spierse thank you!

JTB123 · 31/08/2020 09:56

@Phie04 please don't worry I have smelt that same exact smell this week too when on the loo!!! And I'm like wtf gross, maybe it is just a change in hormones and PH balance x

Phie04 · 31/08/2020 10:10

Thankyou to everyone that replied. I'm still feeling the same but it's odd as if feels like my symptoms just switched off instead of easing. My 12 wk scan is tomorrow morning so will let you all know x

Sussexbysea · 31/08/2020 10:16

@Phie04 I’m sure everything is ok. We’re all here for you xxx

chloxhunt · 31/08/2020 10:24

@Phie04 I'm sure everything's okay!

Phie04 · 31/08/2020 10:59

Just had a call from the hospital and OH isn't allowed in the scan tomorrow 😞 so disappointed for him as they have left it rather late to tell us he was so excited.

ChilternsHan · 31/08/2020 11:52

@Phie04 oh no, that's so upsetting that they just told you today! My trust acknowledges on their website that partners being unable to attend all scans is causing a lot of distress, you would think giving people enough notice is the least they could do.

@Babafarmer my scan is at 3.50 tomorrow, so late in the day! I have work before that but not sure how easy I'm going to find it to concentrate.

ChilternsHan · 31/08/2020 11:53

Good luck at work @chloxhunt hope your first shift isn't too bad!
