@DSP21 measuring small at an early stage doesn't necessarily mean anything, I had 2 scans and on the 2nd scan i was measuring a week after my other scan and they were 10 days apart and she said that measuring something that small isn't science so it's best to wait till 12 weeks as it's more accurate

ChilternsHan · 30/08/2020 10:07

@Babafarmer what time is your scan on Tuesday?

@DSP21 I also had a scan at 7 weeks, was very tempted to book another one in between but then we found out my husband can attend the NHS one now. He said he'd rather wait - he's really excited for it but no matter how positive I try to be, I just feel nervous (and guilty for not being more excited with him).

I have to keep reminding myself that at the 7 week scan I was convinced they were going to tell me I'd imagined the positive tests or somehow done them wrong, but there was definitely a little bean there on screen. There has been a lot of positive news on here too alongside the sad, although it's all too easy to focus on the latter.

Keeping fingers crossed for both of you and anybody else with scans this week.

Oldermum80 · 30/08/2020 10:11

@DSP21 don’t keep it in. I find these boards and Facebook groups a godsend. I have been anxious and negative but my partner and family don’t understand as they haven’t/aren’t experiencing it for themselves. Message me privately if you need to but I am sure no one on here would mind you expressing how you feel as there are lots of us who have been or are in similar situations.

spierse · 30/08/2020 10:18

@Babafarmer yes my books are the same they don't seem to be quite so massive, it seems to depend on the day, I have lost a good bit of weight though through sickness and inability to eat so it may be that also. I know how you feel with the anxiety, I already had a MMC so I am super super nervous about my 12 week scan

spierse · 30/08/2020 10:19

that obviously should have said boobs!! Damn autocorrect

Babafarmer · 30/08/2020 10:23

@ChilternsHan it's at 2.10pm what time is yours?

@spierse I'm glad I'm not the only one. Hopefully it's normal as we reach the end of the first trimester x

chloxhunt · 30/08/2020 10:30

@spierse I actually thought you meant books 😂 my bra was tighter when I was 6 weeks but it's a rubbish primark one so it's stretched and fits me again lol

SnickerdoodleSnek · 30/08/2020 11:42

I think anxieties will always be common with early pregnancy, especially before that first big scan! In some ways I wish I'd gone for early scans but at the same time I know how important the dating one is, and that the anxiety won't always last.

So I completely sympathise with worries, lovely ladies! That's what's great about this board, we can get these things off our (large and tender!) chests when that's not always easy with those close to us. ❤️

chloxhunt · 30/08/2020 12:56

I'm 10+4 and I can and ready feel where the baby is if I run my finger over my abdomen, guessing it's chilling on the right bless

Clara9 · 30/08/2020 13:42

Hi everyone. Hope you are all ok. Had a scan today so that DH could come along to the 12 week one in a coupe of weeks time. So amazing to see the baby really clearly. When do I dare relax and get excited?!

Phie04 · 30/08/2020 13:48

Hi ladies! After seeing some bra talk I thought I'd share my new purchases with you. I went to primark today to buy some baggy tops and pjs etc... also wanted to get some more of these bras that I have been wearing under jumpers etc. Normal bras (even when they fit) have been crippling me they are SO uncomfortable so picked up 2 more packs of these wireless comfort ones with removable cups inside. They are only £10 for 3 and I am honestly living in them. Those of you struggling to find wireless bras I highly recommend! They have all sorts of colours.

Just read my comment again and realised it made no send haha. As my husband can’t come to the one in a couple of weeks we had a private one! Am further along than I thought and now due on the 22nd

@Clara9 excellent pic!

SnickerdoodleSnek · 30/08/2020 14:20

@Clara9 what a lovely scan photo! Glad things are looking good and glad hubby could come to this one! It's such a shame that so many partners can't come to the 12 week ones.

@Phie04 thanks for the bra recommendation! I've been living in Sainsbury's bralets since my boobs have been more sensitive. Ain't nobody got time for uncomfortable bras!

Sussexbysea · 30/08/2020 14:45

Oh @Clara9 so lovely. How far along are you? 4 days till my scan, my so excited but nervous. I’m one of the lucky ones as my hospital trust are allowing partners in so he’ll be able to see baby. He’s still not allowed in for the 20 weeks scan but hopefully that may change. I think we’ll get a private gender scan done because he won’t be allowed in.

Sussexbysea · 30/08/2020 14:47

@Phie04 Sainsbury’s bras are a god send

Clara9 · 30/08/2020 15:11

Thanks @Phie04, @SnickerdoodleSnek and @Sussexbysea! I thought I had just turned 10 weeks, but turns out I’m 11 weeks tomorrow. Can’t wait to tell the world, but have to hold off. My NHS can and blood test aren’t for another two weeks, so as we want to wait for the blood tests to come back I will be nearer to 14 weeks before we tell people

SnickerdoodleSnek · 30/08/2020 15:17

@Clara9 It'll be so worth the wait, I'm sure! I've been so impatient about telling my family and friends but I've managed to resist so far! Hubby knows I'm desperate to tell my parents so he constantly praises me for not letting the cat out of the bag 😂

spierse · 30/08/2020 16:37

Hi ladies, anyone else completely lost their shit with their partner, he got annoyed at me and called me stupid and I went absolutely berserk, now so worried that me getting upset has hurt the baby, but I just cannot deal with any stress right now, I get really upset and really angry, swear I could have actually stabbed him I was so angry

Taylortyler · 30/08/2020 17:08

@spierse it happens we're emotional and sometimes men know just how to piss us off! I nearly divorced my hubby for forgetting to bring pie home the other day so I wouldn't worry too much. Although prolonged stress is not really going to be good for the baby - one argument won't cause any harm. Just try and take a breath- go for a walk and clear your head it'll be ok x

chloxhunt · 30/08/2020 17:13

@spierse don't worry i got annoyed with my boyfriend because we could find sour cream and i don't even know if i can eat that 😂

SnickerdoodleSnek · 30/08/2020 17:13

@spierse Don't worry yourself too much. We all experience stress and stressful situations, but you should be fine! Just give yourself some time to breathe and don't dwell on it. These things happen!

spierse · 30/08/2020 17:26

Thanks ladies, watching RHOBH to calm back down 🤦‍♀️ nothing like watching other people scream at one another to distract you from your own issues

Oldermum80 · 30/08/2020 18:38

@spierse I could kill mine too. Every time I complain of anything like tiredness etc, he’s the exact same or he says I’m twining. He is only joking but I’m getting annoyed that he can’t just give me a little sympathy or reassurance 🙄

chloxhunt · 30/08/2020 18:44

@Oldermum80 you should've seen my boyfriend everytime i was on my period 🙄😂 he always happened to have a bad stomach everytime i was due 🙄😂
