@SkyBlue20 yay to feeling better and I can relate to the bed situation, we only have double and we share with a pug so a pillow will be interesting 😅

SkyBlue20 · 20/08/2020 12:12

Does anybody else with nausea find that noise can really aggravate it? I'm working at the dining table in the kitchen today with the back doors open, the builders next door have trance music on at quite a low level but I can hear it and my husband is in the living room exercising (open plan so can't close a door on him) and the two sounds together are making me feel so sick. Had a pack of crisps and they helped while I was eating them but not so much now. Could close the back door but then it gets really stuffy which also makes me feel sick... 🤢 Might have to relocate to the home office while DH isn't in there but that is such a faff - I basically just want everyone to shut up without me having to do anything about it 😂 All these little things you just don't think about before you get pregnant!

@ew1990 12.5 hours of sleep sounds heavenly! Hope you forced some food down, it often helps. Yay to 11 weeks!

Sakura54 · 20/08/2020 12:39

That wasn’t even where the needle went in. It felt like a normal blood test and feels like a mild bruise so it's ok. A nurse done it. I don’t let MW touch me as they struggle to get blood while stabbing me in stupid, painful places.

I’m not scared, just would rather avoid them as it hurts and I bruise, but as I complained about in our TTC thread, I unsuccessfully argued to only have one test as opposed to two as I know they can be merged at 12 weeks, but my hospital wanted it done twice annoyingly. I even tried to argue that they done a test just the other month at my booking for previous pregnancy lol. So altogether I’ve had 4 blood tests in 5 months and potentially have another 4 coming up. Did you guys have yours done at booking or is it going to be merged at 12 weeks?

At least they’re looking after me I guess. Apart from my booking appt, it looks like my appointments are face-to-face which is good, as I’ve read that ladies are having quick chats on the phone and not getting any health checks done.

@bubblybon20 I had pregnancy pillows but didn’t need it as my bump was small and I sleep on my side sometimes anyway, but I’ll deffo get it back out as it’s comfy to hug pillows. I’ve also been conscious about sleeping on my back but it’s not a problem until the third trimester.

Shaking with hunger sounds horrible. Glad you’re ok now @SkyBlue20

@skyblue20 I had ham salad muffin it was lovely.

@sakura wonder why you bruised like that when the needle didn't go in There? Did they put the needle in far enough? I take bloods at work and the only people that seem to bruise is old people with really thin skin.

I had bloods taken just after my booking appointment because the midwife couldn't get them and she really hurt me. It's never hurt before

bubblybon20 · 20/08/2020 13:47

@SkyBlue20 I keep getting waves of really bad nausea, but also getting really bad headaches.. so noise really isn't a great thing for me at the moment anyway 🤣🤣 hope you manage to sort a solution tho!

@ew1990 11 weeks! That's crazy, seems to be going slightly fast now.. when we look back at the beginning of our first thread and we was all only 4/5 weeks!

@Sakura54 I had my bloods done at my booking appointment at 9 weeks. Not sure when Il next have any though as my 16 week is over the phone! 🤦🏻‍♀️
Yes will have to get one, I had one with my first son but that was 7 years ago now! But can remember the comfort of it! 🤣

ew1990 · 20/08/2020 13:55

@bubblybon20 I know! My midwife told me to ring for 16 week appointment as not sure wether over the phone or face to face. So I'll just ring when I'm like 15 weeks.

God I can't imagine getting to 15 weeks it seems bizarre

bubblybon20 · 20/08/2020 13:57

@ew1990 I feel really anxious at the mo.. think it's because my scans a week on Tuesday, or could be with the boys going back school next Wednesday!
Just hope from my last scan everything is still ok ☹️
I think not seeing or speaking to a midwife for a long period doesn't help either, like not seeing face to face who knows!
I can't imagine getting to that stage either tho! 🙈

Workingmama1 · 20/08/2020 14:19

@SkyBlue20 I'm working from home alone so not got a lot of noise around me but can imagine it could make it worse, the same as when you dont feel great for non pregnant reasons noise isn't nice!

I woke up feeling OK which freaked me out when compared to my ok nipples but then nausea has hit again now! Just had cheese on potato waffles for lunch for the third day running. I have a smoothie at breakfast and its the only fruit I'm managing at the moment.

Mini milestone today for 7 weeks. Last time the baby had stopped growing by now, I have no reason to think anything is wrong but getting nervous for my scan on Monday. Still checking for blood everytime I wipe, not sure when that little ritual will stop!

I had a good pregnancy pillow with my daughter, it was quite thin so didn't take up a lot of room but also had a bit for your back so you didn't roll onto it which was handy.

ew1990 · 20/08/2020 15:05

@bubblybon20 I feel anxious too. Think It's because I've been moved at work too with no patient contact so most have figured it out now

DanceM1 · 20/08/2020 15:08

@Workingmama1 I will be 12 weeks on sunday and still check for blood every time too. I don't even really know why because I had absolutely no signs of the MMC.. never had any spotting or bleeding but i still check!

Love the idea of pregnancy pillows. Ive been thinking about that for a while but won't buy anything like that until (hopefully) I get a bit further along. I usually fall asleep on my front and wake up on my back so I'm screwed 🤣🤣

@bubblybon20 I'm sure everything will still be OK but I obviously 100% understand the anxiety before a scan!! You will be fine!

As for bloods... i had mine done around 9 weeks i think and will get results at 12 week scan. They also said my 16 week appointment will be in person but I have to call and book it after my scan all being well.

@Sakura54 I can't believe you've got such a war wound from your bloods!!

Dipsy77 · 20/08/2020 15:41

Hope everyone is doing ok
Haven't posted for a while as I'm trying to keep my head down and get to 12 week I'm so anxious. Also need a bit of a rant, I had my booking in appointment 2 weeks ago on the 6th august and because I've chosen a hospital that's out of boundary my midwife referred me and said if you haven't heard anything in 2 weeks ring me and I'll chase. I haven't heard anything so chased her today and got no reply so I called the surgery and spoke to another midwife. I was told that she had resent my referral so give it while Monday and ring the hospital. I was getting so anxious and annoyed that I rung the hospital who didn't have my details and said if the referral has only gone today I should ring next Thursday. I said to the lady I spoke to I will me 11+2 then and she said don't worry you can be scanned up to 14 week, so looks like I'm going to be having a late 12 week scan. I'm so nervous I just want to know if everything is ok this time but too scared to go for a private scan :( xx

DanceM1 · 20/08/2020 16:25

Ahh @Dipsy77 I completely understand your anxiety and frustration! Would you really not go private?? I was absolutely terrified... so much so that I burst into tears as soon as I walked in the door. Im still really anxious now about my 12 week scan on Monday but if I hadn't had a couple of private ones I really would have had a huge meltdown by now. Also, you would be able to take somebody with you which would be great for the support.

My scan last time was only supposed to be at 14+2 and its too long to wait! I hope they sort it for you quickly but I really would recommend a private scan although I understand your anxiety 💕

Sakura54 · 20/08/2020 16:52

@ew1990 I don’t look at the needle so have no idea how deep its supposed to go, but she seemed to know what she was doing, whereas MWs take forever searching for my vein and strangling my arm then give up with that area. I bruise after blood tests often and have tiny veins and very thin arms but not sure if that’s relevant lol. After I had DS I looked like I had been in a war with all the bandages and bruises I had!

Lol I typed that before I saw your response @DanceM1 War wound indeed!

@bubblybon20 Yeah in pregnancy we don’t have many appointments at all, especially when it’s subsequent children. It’s every 1-2 months! My place told me all my early appointment dates at the booking appointment. The only one I’ve just found out is the 20 week scan and I’m waiting for a letter for extra blood tests. I also have an appointment booked for December but it’s a stupid Birthing Options one that may be cancelled they said, but it’s protocol.

DS is starting nursery very soon. I don’t know about him, but I am going to cry my eyes out lol, even though I know how happy he will be. Hope he doesn’t catch CV.

Booked myself an early scan for 6:45 this evening. Hoping to break it up as still have a while to wait for my 12 weeks! Think it'll reassure me a bit haha (she says!)🤣🤣

@Sakura54 I feel like that's my worry too! But hopefully they'll be okay 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

DanceM1 · 20/08/2020 17:26

Ahh thats good @bubblybon20 When was your last scan?

bubblybon20 · 20/08/2020 17:29

The 2nd August hahaha! I can feel this been a very expensive pregnancy before baby is even here! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

bubblybon20 · 20/08/2020 17:30

@DanceM1

bubblybon20 · 20/08/2020 17:34

I think I just worry too much, because I hardly have any symptoms. And it's making me really panicky. I rather not go to the hospital for my 12 week scan for something to be wrong. It's weird I know 🤦🏻‍♀️

SmileyT · 20/08/2020 17:38

@Sakura54 oh my that bruise is quite intense isn't it 😔 I had bloods at my booking appt, not sure if they'll take more at my scan, but after that next face to face is the 20week scan I think 🤔

@bubblybon20 I'm still sleeping on my tummy, I go to sleep on my side but don't ever stay that way, I think tummy sleeping is okay for now though 🤷🏾‍♀️

@SkyBlue20 glad you was feeling better today, although it sounds like the noise has set you back again, so hopefully a relaxed evening for you.

@ew1990 if you're sleeping that long, your body must need it... I've been in bed for 9 and don't wake up until 6am every day, never had this much sleep in my life 🤣 whoop whoop to another milestone ✔️

@Dipsy77 completely understand the anxiety, you've done so well waiting it out until the dating scan. Hopefully when the call comes it won't be long until you actually get the scan so not much longer to wait. Be kind to yourself x

DanceM1 · 20/08/2020 17:42

@bubblybon20 I'm so with you! You've done well I think since 2nd August... i had 8 weeks, 10 weeks and now will have 12 weeks so literally every 2 weeks. And if I make it past 12 weeks it will probably continue that way for a while... very expensive pregnancy indeed 🤣

bubblybon20 · 20/08/2020 17:50

@DanceM1 glad you're feeling the same as me! I'm hoping I can wait 4 weeks between 12 to have a private at 16 to find out the gender! But we will see! 🤣

ew1990 · 20/08/2020 18:04

@bubblybon20 can't wait to see the picture! Really hope it goes well for you. You've made me want to book one but I'm gunna hold out

bubblybon20 · 20/08/2020 18:06

@ew1990 I will do! Hoping I'm still measuring a week ahead, as be 12+3! Just hope all is okay! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

bubblybon20 · 20/08/2020 19:02

So happy! All is good, still measuring 12+3!
