OMG.... now your MW is really annoying me... sorry

WHAT GOOD DOES IT DO TO TELL YOU THIS EXCATLY???? (and yes I am shouting!) What a stupid comment to make ! Just what you need........... you are expecting a huge baby and you willr eally feel you can't push him out ! Please try to get that stupid comment out of your head...

Yes rescue remedy from Bach.... I think I need a stiff drink after reading your post. Sorry

Can I say MWs do get this info wrong too.......

beckswith3 · 26/10/2004 18:34

agree pupuce, mw's can go on a bit, forget that for you its your first and therefore daunting enough without all that talk about 9lb'er, back to my comments a few days ago. big babies help themselves out, you are less likely to tear. DS1 was 8lb 2, DS2 was 10lb 5, both natural gas and air only. It's all in the thought process, keep calm, talk yourself through it, if a contraction is really bad tell yourself the next one might not be as bad, they don't always get stronger. you'll be fine.

Turtle35 · 26/10/2004 18:45

thanks Pupuce this will p you off even more - she said "I guess this will be your only baby then"!! talk about scaring the sh.t out of me!! Now I feel more frightened to go into labour on my own before I see the Obs.

What are the chances they will suggest C-section straight away without induction?

OP posts:
Turtle35 · 26/10/2004 18:46

By the way thank Becks - very encouraging post. I appreciate it a lot.

I think I need a strong drink..... maybe a glass of wine anyway.

pupuce · 26/10/2004 18:49

None unless they know something you don't !

pupuce · 26/10/2004 18:52

Turtle - any chance you will write a letter of complaint to report this MW's bad communications skills.... she may not realise it and being told by her boss that she did annoy/upset you.
If no one points it out she'll carry on !

beckswith3 · 26/10/2004 18:57

have a glass of wine and relax, forget mw for tonight. going to sort kids out for bed, DH is bathing them so better get off my backside so we can chill early tonight. who knows what may arrive over night, if not here's to a half decent nights sleep.

geogteach · 26/10/2004 19:49

Turtle for what its worth both my back to back labours were the ones I got through first stage without pain relief, because they then went on to be brow I had ventouse for one and c-section for this one but they were also big and pain was not a huge issue (obviously i'm not saying it didn't hurt!). Try and use your appointment to your advantage, mine was with a hospital midwife and she had lots of good advice and wrote loads of stuff in my notes about what should and shouldn't happen (based on previous history)and it was followed to the letter, making this a much better experience than the last one despite ending in a section.

Bellie · 26/10/2004 21:02

Turlte - sending you hugs - I can't believe that your mw has been so unsupportive of your first time.
My mw was very supportive of the fact that I am scared about sweep/induction and has pointed me in the direction of curry/pineapple/long walks/sex and reassured me that most ladies go into labour before the date at the hospital and that positive thinking really works!
We should all be thinking positive thoughts tonight and over the next few days and together the power of the meece will prevail !

Bellie · 27/10/2004 10:31

Hope everyone is OK this morning - Beckswith Happy due date!
Any twinges anyone??

Turtle35 · 27/10/2004 11:06

am seeing top consultant at hospital tomorrow so should hopefully get a better resolution and some intelligent answers when I see him. I think I had the worst night sleep ever in my life last night with pain and anguish, I just feel beside myself now.

Geogteach what is the difference between brow and posterior?

thanks everyone for such great support as always MN seems to be the best place to turn.

Bellie · 27/10/2004 12:51

Turtle I am sorry to hear that you did no thave a good night - it must be hard - as harman says it will all pale into insignificance when db arrives - keep focused on that positive thought!

Toots · 27/10/2004 14:21

Sending you a big {{{{{{hug}}}}} Turtle.

Turtle35 · 27/10/2004 14:45

Thanks fellow Meese it's so appreciated knowing that others have gone through it and once it's over I will have a DB at the end of it

I tried getting onto all fours last night but it felt almost impossible to do for more than 10 minutes, I have gained a lot of weight and my arms didn't seem strong enough. I will get on my pg ball though which I think should help?

Sure hope Bean is OK, can't wait to hear from her.

OP posts:
Bellie · 27/10/2004 18:08

Turtle - don't have a birthing ball myself but other frineds have and have sworn that sitting and bouncing on it has helped turned their babies! Worth a try!

beansprout · 27/10/2004 18:53

Hi everyone. Finally home, and yep, it was an emergency c-section in the end. Thanks for all of your thoughts and good wishes while I was away.

Piglit - sorry to hear it was so difficult for you, really hope you are ok.
Turtle, Bellie - everyone else waiting, please look after yourselves. Am not impressed with your m/w either Turtle. All I can say is that I found that although mine ended up as a "horror" story, as it was happening, it was all ok as instinct kicks in and I found I just did what I needed to do at the time. It WILL be ok, whatever happens, I promise. Am thinking of you loads and wishing you all the good birthing vibes there are. Big, big hug to you. I really know how hard waiting is - you have my full sympathy, you really do xxx

beckswith3 · 27/10/2004 19:01

bean = saw your post on the childbrith. well done.
still here, contractions started this am good and strong, then nothing.mw said 2cm dilated and head engaged but not labour yet. all quiet this pm so who knows, couldn't expect it on the d day!

beansprout · 27/10/2004 19:02

Am keeping my fingers crossed for you BW3!! Good luck!

Bellie · 27/10/2004 19:14

Beansprout so pleased to hear that whilst everything didn't go according to plan you now have your ds to make up for everything.

Bw3 - thought it was your turn today as not heard from you - definately sounds imminent though
Turtle - think it will be me and you left on here then!
Positive thoughts to all

huppa · 27/10/2004 19:32

Just popping in to wish all of you the best - hope you don´t have to wait too much longer.

geogteach · 27/10/2004 19:55

Turtle think this is right but don't hold me to it, posterior = back to back, brow= posterior andforehead presents first rather than top of head making it too wide to come out. Don't hold me to that though!

Turtle35 · 27/10/2004 21:20

Bellie I think it will be just you and I left let's keep October going even if we end up in November - k? Let's just pretend our DB's are Oct so we can stick with the others.

Hope you are feeling ok.

OP posts:
Bellie · 27/10/2004 21:24

Tutle - definately will keep the Oct thread going we will have to join the others in the parenting thread. Am getting fed up with all the phone calls "are you still pregnant then?"! FFs do you think that I would be answering the phone if I was in labour then!

Havn't heard from Samuella due on 24th? Are we assuming that means that she has had her db?
