Has anyone found any good sickness remedies yet?
I'm suffering so bad. All day. I can't function. Luckily I'm working from home.
I hardly eat anything just crackers or ginger nut biscuits.
I've got sickness bands abd anti sickness meds of Doctor but nothing works.
Xx

lucieloos · 10/12/2020 15:36

@Hayleywoody82 it's tough isn't it. The only thing that's worked for me were anti sickness meds but I had to go through a good few until I found the right combo for me so if the ones you have aren't working get in touch with your gp and let them know so you can try something else.

Hayleywoody82 · 10/12/2020 15:55

@lucieloos oh I didn't realise there was others i could try. I've got cyclizine atm. Xx

lucieloos · 10/12/2020 16:00

@Hayleywoody82 yes there's lots of different ones and then they can try some in combination too. Cyclizine did absolutely nothing for me either. Metoclopramide helped for about week and the latest buccastem in combo with low dose steroids has helped the most and I feel almost normal most days. I'm over 12 weeks now though so don't know if it's starting to lessen naturally as well.

Hayleywoody82 · 10/12/2020 16:14

Oh great I will call the doctors. I can't go on like this xx

M4v3r1ck · 11/12/2020 13:21

@Hayleywoody82 urgh I feel you! I've struggled with a fair bit of nausea - no sickness thankfully! Definitely speak to the doctors if it's getting too much! Toast, ginger nuts, crisps, and fruit funnily enough, especially apples and grapes, have been good for me! I also like ginger ale and peppermint tea for a bit of liquid nausea relief - the ginger tea makes me boaky!

Vie8126 · 13/12/2020 09:01

Hey all hope everyone is good. We bought my scan forward so had it last week didn't see much but saw heartbeat and I thought I was 6w6d and they put me back to an average of 6w3d but said things could change at next scan.

Another one suffering with nausea I feel like it's my blood sugar I'm getting sick, hot and shaky and need sugar no matter how much I eat or what I eat with it being worse as the day goes on. Any ideas?

Midwife booking in on new years eve, 12 week scan 22nd Jan. Wanting the NIPT due to my age etc but will discuss with midwife as the cost is just too much for us.

Hope everyone else is well!!

M4v3r1ck · 15/12/2020 08:36

@Vie8126 fab on the scan and hearing the heartbeat! 😍😍😍 I'm finding I need to eat more frequently (even small snacks) to stave off any nausea!

Sorry if this is TMI, but I'm feeling awful and stressed today. I thought I could see some tinges of old blood when wiping yesterday, but was really looking. Unfortunately when I went to the loo this morning, there was definitely some brown-ish spotting when I wiped. I'm going to phone the midwife this morning, as this is the first time I've had this... 😳😳😳 I took a cheapie pregnancy test and there's still a strong line!

Hayleywoody82 · 15/12/2020 09:06

@M4v3r1ck how far are you?

Speak to midwife but I wouldn't worry to much. With my daughter I bled I was convinced I'd lost her. And all was good xx

M4v3r1ck · 15/12/2020 09:52

@Hayleywoody82 I'm 10 weeks! I'm waiting on a call back. That's good to know - thank you for sharing, but must have been so stressful for you! This is number 1 for me and I'm just clueless. Plus Google doesn't help... 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hayleywoody82 · 15/12/2020 10:12

@M4v3r1ck have you had any early scans yet.
Try not to Google its the devil.
I have 3 children. But have had 4 miscarriages in the past.
Im now 9+3. Its so hard not to worry but worrying isn't going to make it better.
Let me know what midwife says. Try abd put your feet up today hun xx

kwastell · 15/12/2020 10:31

@M4v3r1ck I'm sorry to hear you've had bleeding. From experience I know how worrying it is.

With this pregnancy I had bright red bleeding that turned out to be because of a UTI. I also had on and off brown spotting, but am now 24 weeks and all ok. I've had miscarriages in the past though.

Broadly speaking, bright red blood with pain is more something to worry about that brown blood without pain.

Thank you so much, ladies! 😘😘😘 Really appreciate your reassurance and experience! Spoke with the midwife and they've brought my scan forward to tomorrow morning, so I will keep you posted. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Thankfully no pain, except I'm now imagining or overthinking every slight twinge! 🤦🏻‍♀️

kwastell · 15/12/2020 18:33

Good they've moved your scan @M4v3r1ck hope all is ok for you 🤞

Hope your scan goes well tomorrow @M4v3r1ck!

Hayleywoody82 · 16/12/2020 12:04

@M4v3r1ck hope the scan goes well hun xx

M4v3r1ck · 16/12/2020 12:06

I'm afraid it's not good news, ladies. I need to go back next week for another scan so they can definitely conclude, but it's extremely unlikely to be positive. I'm going to step away from the group for now until I have positive news again one day!

I wish you all the absolute best in your pregnancies - thank you for the support! 😘

lucieloos · 16/12/2020 12:07

Highlandmama · 17/12/2020 13:44

Hi everyone. Congrats on all the BFPs and lovely scan photos. Some of you might remember me from cougar club!

So sorry about your news @M4v3r1ck.

Can I just say, this is really hard...right? I thought the 2ww was bad! I’m 37 years old, have a non-stop 2 year old, I’m 8 weeks and feeling exhausted and queasy all the time...trying not to get too attached as have had a previous MMC...trying to keep it a secret...trying not to let my husband get too excited...and I’m just...don’t know what to do with myself! It’s like 4-5 more weeks until the scan. How to get through it? My coping mechanisms from last time aren’t working.

Any advice, lovely mamas to be?

Sleeeeeepy · 17/12/2020 21:50

Hi @Highlandmama you're a few days ahead of me!! I'm going for an early scan tomorrow so I know if this is likely to be a goer. I've got a 2 and 4 year old and feel sick all the time so I hear you 😬

Highlandmama · 17/12/2020 21:57

Hi @Sleeeeeepy!! Hope the scan tomorrow goes well!! A 2 and a 4 year old! Argh! Maybe I shouldn’t be complaining 😉
