So so sorry @Sunbird24, take care of yourself 💐
Welcome to newer people also.

@Homassy second trimester seems to be going well and finally told my boss today (19 weeks already). It appears that I may be legally obliged to stop work 8 weeks before EDD so whilst I was thinking I had another 5 months of work it may only be 3! So I’m pleased I finally let him know as cover will be needed for my role. It feels a tiny bit more real now, together with really regular movements which is quite reassuring 😊

kwastell · 18/11/2020 22:21

So sorry @Sunbird24 😢

Congratulations on all the new BFPs on here. 👋

I'm good, feeling a lot better. Am 20 weeks now and have the next scan on Friday. Am nervous again, doesn't look like I'm going to relax about it until the baby is out.

Good you have a plan @Homassy and that you told your boss @Wavesandsmilesencore. I have a new boss at work and she's ace, has started recruiting for my mat cover without me having to chase it - so am very grateful for that.

@Sunbird24 I'm so so sorry! Sending much love your way!

@Sleeeeeepy congratulations on the BFP! 😍

@Homassy sorry to hear your appointment wasn't helpful, but good you've now got a plan
in place!

Good luck for Friday @kwastell! 😃

@Wavesandsmilesencore so exciting re: regular movements! 😍

kwastell · 20/11/2020 17:34

All good at my 20 week scan. The baby was in a really awkward position and didn't want to move. Meant they had to really dig around with the ultrasound wand but they got all the checks done eventually.

Fantastic!!! 😍😍😍

CC81 · 23/11/2020 14:38

Hey all, I just had a 7-week scan (because I was too anxious to wait until Thursday for my 8-week scan, after my symptoms disappearing over the weekend).

So... er... there are TWO. Twins. So shocked. It is the LAST thing I expected!

Both are a good size, with heartbeats. But I know that twin pregnancies can be risky and complex, so I'm not getting carried away.

Obviously I'm now googling like an idiot; and have my booking-in appointment on Thursday.

In the meantime, does anyone have any experience or knowledge they can share...???!

lucieloos · 23/11/2020 15:08

Oh my goodness @CC81 what a surprise!!!! I bet you couldnt believe it. Amazing news though. Congratulations lovely.

CC81 · 23/11/2020 15:11

@lucieloos - No, I really couldn't! The midwife/sonographer must have got sick of me saying "huh? what? really?" over and over again!!! I was 60% expecting there to be nothing there, as I felt pretty 'normal' over the weekend.

Sleeeeeepy · 23/11/2020 16:59

Oh @CC81 that's fantastic news!!! How thrilling!!x

Sunbird24 · 23/11/2020 18:40

Oh @CC81 I am so pleased for you I could cry! That’s amazing!

CC81 · 23/11/2020 19:00

Thanks guys - I'm pretty scared, but trying to think positive!

@Sunbird24 - How are you doing? Have the doctors been able to shed any light on what happened? (Please don't answer if you'd rather not). xxx

Sunbird24 · 23/11/2020 19:15

@CC81 nobody really seems that interested! I’ve got a telephone appointment with a doctor at my surgery in the morning, will see if they care...

M4v3r1ck · 23/11/2020 19:40

@CC81 omg amazing news!!! Delighted for you! 😍😍😍

@Sunbird24 I'm so sorry! I hope the GP call goes better tomorrow!

CC81 · 23/11/2020 22:37

@Sunbird24 - That's not right at all. Did you have the scan at a clinic, or hospital? Did they say much, or offer counselling?

I've had a couple of sessions with an experienced fertility counsellor and I really do recommend it - she helped with the mental side of things, but also suggested practical things for me to ask the doctors.

feistymumma · 24/11/2020 08:05

Hello all, can I join please? Fourth pregnancy at 44, 6weeks according to LMP.

Sunbird24 · 24/11/2020 12:58

@feistymumma welcome and congratulations!

@CC81 I’ve got a scan at the EPU on Thursday but they think it’s possible that this pain is nothing to do with the pregnancy. I suggested that speeding the miscarriage along may help narrow the possibilities on that so we’ll discuss options for management as well. If anyone’s got any experience of medical vs d&c I’d be very grateful...

lucieloos · 24/11/2020 13:01

@Sunbird24 I hope it goes as well as it can at epu for you. I had medical management for an ectopic. It was one injection. I was in quite a lot of pain the next day but after that it was better and started easing and my hcg levels went down. I don't have any experience of d&c but would probably choose medical over that if offered.

kwastell · 24/11/2020 20:30

@Sunbird24 I've had surgical management for 2 miscarriages (D&C). It was very straight forward for me both times physically, was back on my feet and out of the house the next day with only period like pain. After the first one it took a while for my period to come back and then 18 months to get pregnant again, but I think that might have been down to my emotional side rather than the operation. With the second one my period was back in 4 weeks and got pregnant again after 5 months. But I dealt with it a lot better emotionally.

@CC81 really lovely news on the twin pregnancy

@feistymumma hello and congratulations 👋

Thank you for the warm welcome. I am really excited and anxious at the same time. Asking myself if I have gone bonkers as my eldest is 22, followed by 15 year old and 11 year old and here I am pregnant again. Am trying not to worry myself sick over my age and that this categorises the pregnancy as high risk. I also suffer from adenomyosis which makes conception really difficult so was really surprised when I missed my periods. How are you all keeping? Smile
