Hi @GanderousGoose and congratulations 🥳

Homassy · 09/10/2020 08:38

How is everyone? Good luck with 16 week appt @kwastell. Mine is in an hour. How are you feeling @GanderousGoose? My little one has just cut his first tooth- finally Star

kwastell · 09/10/2020 10:37

Thanks @Homassy. Appointment was fairly uneventful. They didn't do the Doppler so I am just trying to assume all is ok. How was your appointment?

We're telling our 4 year old son the news tonight. He's been asking for a brother or sister for ages, so am very excited to tell him.

Hey, I had my midwife appointment yesterday, I got to hear the baby’s heart with Doppler 😍 was also given flu jab and whooping cough jab. My blood pressure was high (work is really stressful this week) so I have to go for BP monitoring at the hospital today 😏 I checked it at home last night and it was fine all 3 times so hopefully today goes well and just to check. @kwastell aww let us know how it goes telling you son, sounds like he will be very excited 🤩
My partners daughter is coming to stay tonight and he wants to tell her, I’m really not sure how she is going to react 🙈

Homassy · 09/10/2020 11:38

All well here and got to hear heart beat so I’ve started sharing the news more widely. Glad it went well @KJB2020 but sorry work is so stressful. Or what you need.
I’m sure your son will be excited @kwastell

KJB2020 · 09/10/2020 11:40

Glad your appointment went well @Homassy and you got to hear the heartbeat 💗

kwastell · 10/10/2020 07:51

That's lovely you got to hear the heartbeats @KJB2020 and @Homassy. I wished I'd have asked them to do it now.

My son is very excited. He said it's better news than getting chocolate and keeps calling it his baby ❤️

How did it go with your partners daughter @KJB2020?

KJB2020 · 10/10/2020 08:50

@kwastell aww that’s so lovely and so much excitement to come for your little boy becoming a big brother. The news didn’t go down so well here 😂 there was a sulky face and some tears and a difficult mood the rest of the evening. Hopefully things improve.

I had to go for BP monitoring for a few hours at the hospital yesterday and thankfully it all went ok so I just need to keep an eye on things just now. Getting lots of sore heads but that is apparently due to my blood system accommodating the babies blood system or something and should just be a phase.

I feel like time is passing faster now do any of you feel like that? 17w4d today 😁

kwastell · 10/10/2020 10:29

Oh no @KJB2020 hopefully she might come round?

Good to hear your blood pressure is down again.

Wow, you're almost halfway. Definitely think it's going quicker now. I'm 15 weeks today.

Welcome and congratulations to @GanderousGoose and hooray for hearing heartbeats! I’m 13+4 now and next week should get results of the NIPT test (no indicators other than my age but standard here). I’m now planning to wear baggy jumpers for as long as possible to keep this quiet until I’m a bit more confident. I saw my ex (feels weird saying that) during the week and it was actually nice. We had a hug and I think we will figure out a way to carry on as friends and for him to be involved and supportive.

kwastell · 10/10/2020 19:29

@Wavesandsmilesencore That's brilliant if you're able to have a decent relationship with your ex. It's been said on here before but you must be super strong 💪

mouldygrapes · 11/10/2020 11:56

Hope everyone is doing ok. Just had our early scan - looking good, little wriggly one with a strong heartbeat and measuring 8+2 which fits with ovulation dates more than LMP.

@Wavesandsmilesencore that sounds positive. Sending strength

lucieloos · 11/10/2020 16:29

Hey everyone, can I hop on over from the 35+ board please. I'm only 11dpo but I got this today. Really shocked. I'm 41 though so I know it may not be plain sailing but taking things day by day.

Homassy · 11/10/2020 19:46

Hi @lucieloos and congratulations Flowers. The early days are especially nerve racking aren’t they? What a lovely strong positive and agree all you can do is take each day at a time. Do you have other children? Welcome to the chat and yay!!!

lucieloos · 11/10/2020 21:11

Hi @Homassy thanks so much! It is very nerve wracking. I have 2 other children but they were the result of many, many rounds of ivf and much blood, sweat and tears. This is our first ever natural bfp which makes it even more scary. My husband had an operation on his urethra a couple of months back and it looks like that was the cause of all our problems as this is the first cycle we have tried after that and we dtd once the day before ovulation!

KJB2020 · 12/10/2020 08:57

Hi @lucieloos congratulations 🎉 and welcome to the group!

Homassy · 12/10/2020 18:45

My NIPT came back low risk which is great news. But I can’t stop thinking about lastditch and the others who have had bad news. It’s such a risky business.

Hope everyone is ok. Waiting to watch Boris soon. We’ve escaped any further restrictions here.

kwastell · 12/10/2020 19:17

Great news about your scan @mouldygrapes

Congratulations @lucieloos 🎉 and hello, I remember your name from the TTC board

@Homassy that's great news on the NIPT risk.

I'm feeling the same. I keep looking up private scan appointments to get some reassurance but then not booking one. Already got one booked for Wednesday 21 so I should try to stay strong and wait for that.

lucieloos · 12/10/2020 19:44

Which nipt's have people had? I've had harmony a couple of times before but had read panorama is meant to cover more and a bit more accurate so don't know whether to give that a try if we get that far?

Homassy · 12/10/2020 20:16

I had the IONA which is similar to the Harmony test. @kwastell I've resisted reassurance scans. I read a thread including contributions from a psychologist, which fitted with my own experience in my pregnancy. I got temporary relief from anxiety but it came back faster and more strongly and left me sort of "craving" another scan. Has anyone felt any movements yet?

KJB2020 · 12/10/2020 20:29

@mouldygrapes lovely news about your scan
@Homassy great news about your NIPT

I’m 18 weeks tomorrow and not felt anything yet and don’t really have a bump yet. I’m really looking forward to 20 weeks scan in 2
Weeks.

lucieloos · 13/10/2020 10:22

I feel like the line may be looking slightly lighter today than the last couple of days. I didn't think I would have a chemical with such good, strong lines early on but now I don't know. So stressful.

mouldygrapes · 13/10/2020 13:42

@lucieloos could it be hydration related or testing at different times of day?
It takes a few days for Hcg to double so lines may stay the same for a couple of days before looking any stronger

lucieloos · 13/10/2020 13:46

@mouldygrapes it was fmu the same as the others and I don't think I drank anymore than usual but it did look a shade lighter. I decided to do another test though and it seemed to come up a lot quicker and looks obviously darker than all other tests so feel a bit relieved now.

mouldygrapes · 13/10/2020 13:50

That’s good. I know it’s really hard not to test but results can be misleading, they’re only meant to be pos/neg and beyond that can’t really give much info. If you’ve got a good strong line then doing repeat testing probably won’t add much more other than stress at this stage
