Thanks @Homassy, no more spotting and the pain seems to have been mostly wind/constipation which is a bit better. What has hit now is sickness! Fun times especially when wearing a mask at work 🤢

Hope everyone is doing OK.
Good news about the planned section @kwastell

Sending hugs @Unexpectedover40

3andout · 30/09/2020 10:59

I've just started bleeding all, so I guess I'm out, so short and sweet.

Hopefully join you again in the not so distant future x

Homassy · 30/09/2020 11:05

@3andout I'm so sorry. It may not be bad news but of course it is worrying. If it is not to be I hope we see you here again very soon and let us know how things go. Flowers

kwastell · 30/09/2020 11:44

I'm sorry @3andout is there a chance it could be ok? If not I hope you can join us again soon. Look after yourself 💐

@mouldygrapes that's great on the spotting. My sickness has got worse too. I thought it was meant to go away at 13 weeks, not increase!

Hi everyone, how are people doing? I had my 12 week scan today and everything looks fine. Haven’t spoken to who I guess I should start calling ex DP for a few weeks and still wrapping my head around the situation.... only one person knows in real life but she’s being wonderful 😊. I’m also, touch wood, over the worst of the tiredness and nausea so hoping things settle down for a while. I have a blood test to do and a compulsory 3D scan at 22 weeks: the system here is so different to the U.K.! Anyway, due to the issues with DP I’m keeping quiet about everything for a while longer, so it’s just here and with my one RL friend that I can talk about this....

kwastell · 03/10/2020 18:41

Good to hear from you @Wavesandsmilesencore. That's great your 12 week scan went well. Have you got a pic?

Good you have a supportive friend IRL to talk about it with. How are you feeling about things?

Homassy · 03/10/2020 21:21

@Wavesandsmilesencore so glad the scab went well. You sound very strong and I hope you are as ok as possible under the circumstances. So glad you have support.

I’ve had pink discharge/spotting for the first time this pregnancy at about 15 weeks. I had it on and off loads with my first but bit upset it’s suddenly started. I wonder if the aspirin is causing a bit of oozing. I get small nose bleeds and gum bleeds when flossing. There is nothing that can really be done other than keep an eye on it, I guess.

Homassy · 03/10/2020 21:22

Scan not scab!!!! Sorry x

kwastell · 03/10/2020 21:47

Sorry you've had pink discharge @Homassy. I'm sure it's fine, but understandable to be worried.

I'm on aspirin too and had a nose bleed and bleeding gums today

Hi ladies. Sorry have been absent but we've had a difficult week. Following our 12 week scan and a very anxious wait, we got the results of our combined screen and NIPT test back a week later (last Thursday).
The combined NHS screen showed a 1 in 6 chance of t21 and the NIPT test confirmed that we are high likelihood for that also (95%). We are scheduled for CVS to confirm on Wednesday but I started bleeding on Friday so I have a scan booked for tomorrow morning also.
We are still in shock and devastated to be honest. Obviously not everybody would feel this way, but for us and our family this right decision with this diagnosis would be TFMR. But this is obviously not taken lightly, and comes with a lifetime of guilt and sadness attached. I have totally detached from my pregnancy, trying not to think about all the plans we had and hopes- just want to get through the next few weeks and try to move forward from there.
I really hope everyone's pregnancies continue smoothly, I always felt our conceiving so quickly was a miracle tbh, now I'm thinking it was too good to be true. I don't know yet what the future holds for our family, but I will always grieve this baby.
2020 officially can go away now- I just want to go to sleep and wake up on a sunny holiday post COVID.

kwastell · 04/10/2020 21:02

Oh my gosh @lastditchattempt20 I'm so so sorry. I can't imagine what you're going through. You have to make the right decision for you and your family, if detaching from the pregnancy will help you get through this that might be what you need to do. I'm so sorry and wish I could make it better. You definitely deserve a holiday away in the sun.

@lastditchattempt20 I’m so so sorry. What a terrible time for you. Of course you must make the right section for you and your family but it’s so hard. Thinking of you and wishing it was different. I hope the CVS is painless and the results allow you to move forwards quickly. I wish I was better with words but you are in my thoughts x

KJB2020 · 04/10/2020 21:29

@lastditchattempt20 so sorry to hear this, what a terrible time for you, so much worry and stress. Your decision will be the one that is what is best for you and your family. I hope your appointments this week allow you to move forward. Thinking of you Flowers

Wavesandsmilesencore · 05/10/2020 08:26

@lastditchattempt20 sending all my love at what is the worst of times. I echo the other comments, any decision has to be in the context of your family and hoping you can be gentle with yourself over the coming days and weeks

Homassy · 06/10/2020 13:24

How is everybody? There has been such sadness on the thread recently, some really heartbreaking times. My heart goes out to you all.

I'm nearly 16 weeks now and have midwife appt on Friday. I'm really hoping they will do a Doppler (they did in my first pregnancy), as I'd love the reassurance. Still feel anxious but trying to enjoy every day. After all if all goes well it will the last time I am pregnant (probably the last time whatever the outcome to be honest). @KJB2020 - have you had your 16 week appt yet?

kwastell · 06/10/2020 18:38

I know, it's not been a good run. Heartbreaking 💔

I'm feeling pretty ill. Have been in bed from Friday to Monday. Thought I was better today, but think I might have some overdone it because I'm feeling rubbish again.

I'm seeing the midwife on Friday and hoping for the Doppler too @Homassy. Thought I could feel movement but haven't felt much in the last few days so is making me paranoid.

Hey everyone!
I know been such sad news lately on the thread 😞
@Homassy and @kwastell that’s great you both have midwife on Friday, look forward to hearing your updates then. Sorry you haven’t been well @kwastell, hope you start to improve soon.

I’m good thanks, 17 weeks today, I’ve been feeling pretty well overall the last couple of weeks although I’ve been quite sore yesterday and today, the only way I can describe it is what I think may be growing pains? It feels like it’s more muscular type pain at the bottom of my tummy. I have the Midwife on Thursday 😁 I’ll update you on Thursday after my appointment.

I was a bit overweight before I got pregnant and I have lost 1stone 3lb in 11 weeks Whilst pregnant without trying which I am really please about as it will help with my overal weight gain. My appetite has been pretty poor since getting pregnant but I’m managing plenty fruit and healthy snacks and getting a good overall intake .... I just seem to have gone off all my usual foods - which is no bad thing! 😂

Homassy · 06/10/2020 19:55

@kwastell me too! I thought I felt a few flickers and bumps but they’ve stopped. Ok the rational part knows that things are so small in there it’s totally normal to feel and not feel things on and off but ....yup I worry too.

Wavesandsmilesencore · 06/10/2020 20:02

I feeling pretty good, the fatigue has passed which is such a relief, I’m 13 weeks today. I had the NIPT test today, it’s standard here... about 10 days until I get the results then my next appointment in 4 weeks. I also have to book in for a 22 week 3D scan (normal here...) and an appointment with this anaesthetist. It’s very a very medicalised system... still also wrapping my head around the reality of doing this alone but I’ll get there!

Homassy · 06/10/2020 20:30

Hope you feel better soon @kwastell and good work on the weight loss @KJB2020. @Wavesandsmilesencore glad you feel better physically and I’m sorry you find yourself doing it alone. You sound strong 💪🏻 and determined! Go girl !

GanderousGoose · 06/10/2020 22:09

Please could I join? I'm 40, 4+1 with DC2, so very early still. AF was due yesterday and was a no show, got my BFP at 9dpo. Had this today. Am super super anxious. Trying not to be as know I can't control what may or may not happen but am struggling a bit with how anxiety-ridden I am. Have decided to stop testing for a few days now but it feels hard to stop! Like all of us, I know the risks associated with an older pregnancy and am convinced I will start bleeding or have an MMC... Good to have people to talk to who understand.

And you do sound very strong @Wavesandsmilesencore

Congratulations @GanderousGoose and hello 👋

Completely understand the anxiety. I allowed myself 1 test every day. But I think if you can stop that's better.
