How are you today @mouldygrapes? Hope spotting has settled. The early days are very hard and it usually is just a long and anxious wait. I know it doesn’t mean anything but I had lots of spotting and bleeding first time around and all was well. It could be blood from cervix after sex too perhaps? Hope you feel better today

mouldygrapes · 23/09/2020 14:21

Thanks @Homassy, still feeling quite down. Had a little more brown spotting this morning and a small amount of quite dark stringy stuff after a bowel movement- wonder if that was some old blood being squeezed out.
It wasn’t PIV sex but the cramps were so strong after orgasm, it scared me a lot.
Not really feeling crampy today but generally sore in the lower tummy.
We’re not at home at the moment (UK staycation, going home tomorrow). I might call our local EPAU if it continues, but I’m sure it’s just too early to see anything which will probably freak me out more

Elspethelf · 23/09/2020 16:18

@mouldygrapes bleeding and cramping after orgasm is possible and doesn’t necessarily mean anything is wrong. In saying that, I would still call EPAU. I'm pregnant with my first and had light bleeding. I found out I needed a rhogam shot because I have a negative blood type and I wouldn't have known that was necessary if I didn't call. My Dr has said to always call with any bleeding and I think that is good advice. I hope you feel better

mouldygrapes · 23/09/2020 21:47

Thanks @Elspethelf. It was never bleeding, only spotting. Have heard that most EPAUs aren’t seeing women at less than 6 weeks unless heavy bleeding or significant pain as there’s not a lot they can see or do.
Anyway, not had any more spotting, and the pain seems under control. I do have a lot of trapped wind which is also crampy and uncomfortable! The glamour 😂

lastditchattempt20 · 26/09/2020 13:17

Happy Saturday everyone! We're all very quiet this week.
We had 12w scan on Thursday which showed all ok except NT measured higher end of normal (3.3)- They had a nightmare getting measurement though as baby not cooperating. 🤦🏼‍♀️
MW said with my age it would be highly likely for combined screen to now come back as high risk so I'm glad we'd already decided to get bloods taken for NIPT the same day. DH dropped them at the lab that afternoon so hoping for results end of this week 🤞🏻 So still haven't really announced news until we know more. Anxious! 😬
Has anyone else been through this?

kwastell · 26/09/2020 14:59

Oh I'm sorry @lastditchattempt20. I don't know much about this but I really hope your results come back quickly and they're ok 🤞

Hi everyone, and sorry I’ve been absent for so long. I’m 11 + something weeks, edd around 13 April, and spent last 3 weeks in a total turmoil. Basically discovered that DP has been sleeping with other women 😢. For those who remember our TTC antics we managed more than 50 times in the month we finally conceived so I was just astonished that he felt the need to go looking for more.
I had a long chat with the doctor who was very kind (doctor led care in this country), and finally at peace with my decision to continue but almost certainly 100% alone.

I can’t bear to tell any of my family about this yet as I’m so embarrassed to be facing single parent hood at an age where I “should have known better”, and so I’m keeping quiet for as long as possible... I’ll have a lot of practicalities to figure out and just had a promotion at work (unexpected, and a slightly bitter pill as the alternative was redundancy so it’s a bigger job for no extra pay), so when I say I need to take ML next year I guess I won’t be flavour of the month!

Sorry for the rant, I’ve been a wreck for a few weeks.... still feeling a bit 😫, but I guess this is just my path!

kwastell · 26/09/2020 16:39

That's awful news I'm so sorry @Wavesandsmilesencore. What an idiot.

I'm sure you'll do an amazing job on your own. You shouldn't feel embarrassed, your ex is the one who should take all the embarrassment. But completely understandable to need some time and want to figure out the practicalities.

Hopefully your work will be understanding of your mat leave. It's crazy companies aren't always progressive about it these days.

I hope you're ok. Rants are always welcome.

@lastditchattempt20 sorry to hear that, I also don’t know anything about this but hope your bloods come quickly and ok 🤞
@Wavesandsmilesencore so sorry to ready that, what an idiot he is. As others have said absolutely nothing for you to be embarrassed about, hope
You are ok, what a really tough time for you Flowers

3andout · 26/09/2020 20:33

Hi all, can I pull up a seat?

Congratulations!

Just got my Bfp this evening, this was cycle 3 of ttc, number 3. I've just turned 40.

Its still early days, so trying not to get to excited.

mouldygrapes · 26/09/2020 22:20

@lastditchattempt20 sorry to hear that, good that your NIPT is in progress and hope you get the results soon.

@Wavesandsmilesagain I’m so sorry my love. What a dickhead. I hope you have support around you IRL. Sending hugs

@3andout congrats & welcome!

kwastell · 27/09/2020 22:52

Hey, I found out last week at the EPU due to a show that I have no yolk sac and no baby. I think it’s called a blighted ovum 😢 so just waiting to miscarry. Good luck to everyone xxx

Elspethelf · 28/09/2020 01:38

I am sorry to hear that @unexpectedover40. Please take care of yourself xx

kwastell · 28/09/2020 06:45

@Unexpectedover40 I'm so sorry. Look after yourself 💐

Thank you, it feels so cruel to have all the symptoms still but have no baby in there! To be honest DP didn’t want it to start with but now this has happened he’s realised he does! So we’re going to try again but with us both on board together so fingers crossed I can put something positive again in a few months 😊

Unexpectedover40 · 28/09/2020 06:57

Thank you 😊 7-8 weeks is the time that this is usually realised but some people get to 12w scan and realise. My midwife told me the EPU wouldn’t see me to start with and to go home and if it wasn’t meant to be it would miscarry!! Thank goodness a nurse from the scanning unit rang to book in my 12w scan and when I told her she got me straight in with the EPU. If that hadn’t have happened I would be having brown spotting and wondering fit up to another 5 weeks! I’ve got to go back in a couple of weeks if I haven’t miscarried and scan me again. But my symptoms are reducing so I know myself it’s not meant to be 😢

kwastell · 29/09/2020 22:52

How are you doing @Unexpectedover40?

OP posts:
kwastell · 29/09/2020 22:56

How is everyone else?

I saw the consultant this morning to talk about birth options as I had a complicated birth with my DS1. I was expecting to have to make a bit of a case to get a planned caesarean, but they agreed to it based on the risk of it repeating and the size of DS1. So feeling relieved.

Hi, not feeling great still showing positive pregnancy test. Still having brown discharge when I go to the loo boobs still a bit sore so it’s just annoying. Just want to miscarry and get it over with tbh. Partner doesn’t want to try again so it’s all for the best but I just want it to be I’ve now but I will just have to wait until it’s ready. Hope everyone is ok and progressing nicely x

Homassy · 30/09/2020 09:47

Just catching up after a hectic week or so. @Unexpectedover40 , I'm so so sorry. I hope your partner is being supportive and you are as ok as can be expected. You sound so brave in your posts.

@Wavesandsmilesencore I can't believe that! What a prick! How are you doing now? Such a shock for you

Welcome @3andout and congratulations. Glad you had a good consultation @kwastell. Hope everyone else is ok.

I'm 14 weeks and things starting to feel a bit less exhausting. I've decided to go for private NIPt bloods despite low risk standard result. I rather wish I'd booked elsewhere so I could have another scan but at the same time I'm trying not to indulge my anxieties....

Hope everyone is well

Homassy · 30/09/2020 09:48

@mouldygrapes have things settled down?

lastditchattempt20 · 30/09/2020 09:58

Hi all, @kwastell I'm in similar situation so am hoping I won't be met with resistance.
@Homassy are you getting NIPT done through private company?
I'm waiting for screening midwife to call later with update on combined screen and NIPT. May not have results but she's off tomorrow so crossing fingers. Has been a long week! Will update as I know more.

lastditchattempt20 · 30/09/2020 09:59

Sorry @Homassy just read post again. Which test is it they do? Mine is IONA.

kwastell · 30/09/2020 10:11

@lastditchattempt20 I expected resistance but didn't get any. Hopefully you'll get the same.
