Thanks for kind words. I’m ok thanks I’m just feeling strangely numb yet overwhelmed. Trying to plough through it but I feel a bit weird for want of a better word so I guess I’ll talk to someone if it doesn’t lift.... I guess edging out of the first trimester now! Is it 12 weeks or 13- I never can tell ! Smile

Semele5069 · 12/09/2020 08:52

Hi all. Almost 6 weeks here and having a freak-out because I've woken up this morning feeling fine, after 2 days of bad nausea and sore boobs. I know symptoms come and go in the early stages but it's so hard not to read too much into changes!

Homassy · 12/09/2020 09:52

@Semele5069 it’s such a nerve wracking time. The chances are everything is fine and symptoms do fluctuate but I get how much it plays on your mind. I sometimes find that when I think that, suddenly boom a few hours later they’re back with a vengeance ! I hope you’re ok and can distract yourself. Please try not to read too much into it, easier said than done, I know Flowers

Hello, jumping over from the TTC 35+ thread. Got a positive test this am, think I’m 3+5.
I honestly don’t know what to feel - i’m happy for sure but also scared (both of MC and of not being able to cope with parenting a human) and generally feel a bit overwhelmed. Partner is happy but also admits he’s a bit scared too. I’m hoping all this is normal ?!?

kwastell · 12/09/2020 20:13

Congratulations @mouldygrapes 🎉

I think that's completely normal. It's all new so bound to be a bit scary, but also all will be worth it.

Elspethelf · 12/09/2020 22:12

Congratulations @mouldygrapes! Nerves are for sure normal, so much is out of your control from here.

Is this your first?

mouldygrapes · 12/09/2020 22:29

Thanks @Elspethelf, yes it’s our first.
I’m sure it will sink in/feel more real soon.

Think it will be a killer not telling anyone IRL yet. We’re off to the coast next week and my parents want to come and meet us one day for lunch - my mum will deffo suspect something if I’m not drinking/eating oysters

Hope you’re all getting on OK - so glad to see some familiar names

Semele5069 · 13/09/2020 08:55

Congratulations @mouldygrapes!!

@Homassy you were right- I was sick as a parrot again from about 11am till late evening!

Homassy · 13/09/2020 09:12

Congratulations @mouldygrapes! Lovely news and we all get the uncertainty! Really pleased you got your bfp . Oh no @Semele5069, sorry you’ve felt awful but glad for “reassurance” a bit of feeling dreadful brings ConfusedGrin

Unfortunately ladies I'll be going back to the conception board😣 started bleeding on Friday at 5wks. Absolutely gutted as it took me 15months to get pregnant. It's definitely not just a normal pregnancy bleed as I had to go to hospital last Tuesday because of pain & had a scan & they suspected ectopic & my HCG wasn't as high as they'd like it to be. Got to go back tomorrow at 9, where I know the worst is going to be confirmed. Good luck with your pregnancies ladies & hopefully I'll be able to hop back on here one day, just keep your fingers crossed for me that it happens soon & ive not got to wait another 15months 😩xx

Homassy · 14/09/2020 13:33

Oh @Chlo2701, I am so, so, sorry to read your update. It's heartbreaking. I hope you will be back here very soon. Please take care of yourself. Thinking of you Flowers

kwastell · 16/09/2020 08:09

Morning. How's everyone doing?

I had a bit of brown blood this morning. I'm 11+4. Nurses have said I've got cervical erosion when I've been for checks with previous pregnancies, so am hoping it's just that. Got my 12 week scan on Monday, so hoping I can hold out until then. Booking a private scan has crossed my mind, but seems a bit daft with only a few days to wait.

OP posts:
mouldygrapes · 16/09/2020 09:21

Sorry to hear that @kwastell, it does sound likely that your cervical erosion is playing up again. Not long to go until your scan, I hope the time passes quickly.

Not feeling much at all but l think that’s to be expected at this early stage. Very slight nausea in the morning, boobs feel heavier but not sore. A bit headachy.

How is everyone else getting on?

lastditchattempt20 · 16/09/2020 09:25

Morning all. @kwastell it's never nice when something changes- gives you a shock. I think as it's brown (old) blood that's a reassuring sign and if you have history of cervical issues then that's most likely explanation in absence of any other problems. I'm still getting some brown mucus and last scan implied there was a haematoma in there 😕 I know it's difficult to relax though- not long until Monday. Thinking of you.
I'm just watching clock until 12w scan next week and trying to decide whether or not to also have IONA (NIPT) test...

Homassy · 16/09/2020 10:01

Bleeding and brown discharge is so disconcerting and worrying but agree with the others (and the stats for bleeding in pregnancy) that it is likely benign. Roll on your next scan @Kwastell and @lastditchattempt20. A few of us are nearing the end of the first trimester! I'm never sure if it's the end of the 12 week or the 13th, but either way, bring it on!

I'm generally feeling a bit better. Trying to do even just ten minutes of yoga a day and I'm sure it's helping my mood. If all works out (see I can't help myself, qualifying it with"ifs") then our family will be complete. So I keep reminding myself, this is the last time I'll ever be 12 weeks pregnant and it's all so fleeting. This is helping me to make the most of each day.

I'm still done by the evenings and really ratty with my partner. I feel totally disconnected but thats probably fairly normal too.

I think I've decided against the NIPt as my adjusted risks are 1:1500 for Down's syndrome and 1:10 000 for Edwards/Pateau.

Hope everyone is doing ok.

lastditchattempt20 · 16/09/2020 10:04

@homassy that's good. How long did you have to wait for your results after scan?

Homassy · 16/09/2020 10:15

Hi @lastditchattempt20. I got my bloods done about 5 days before the scan (but after 11 weeks- as I THINK that’s when they’re validated from). So it meant the sonography had my papp a and b hcg levels so could do the risk scoring at the scan. It’s obv more logistically challenging to get bloods at the moment but I was given a form by the midwife and took it to phlebotomy . Hope that helps

KJB2020 · 16/09/2020 14:59

Lovely to hear everyone’s updates! 😁 @kwastell exciting that you have your 12wk scan on Monday, that will be a big reassurance for you. I’m sure like the others said the old blood will be due to your cervical erosion and hopefully nothing to worry about. Good luck for Monday.
I’m 14w1d today and starting to feel a lot better although still very tired most days especially be evening, but feeling a lot less sick.

Rororow · 16/09/2020 15:11

Hi everyone hope u don't mind me joining in. I've took a test today and it's positive! This will be baby no.4 and I'm 41! Looks like baby is due on my birthday! I've waited 7 long years for this and I can't quite believe it's true! Yesterday was the anniversary of my youngest daughters death and I feel like in many ways she's blessed us with another! She passed at only 1 month old, yesterday 7 years ago! Feeling a mix of excitement, fear and sadness at the minute Blush also feeling sooooo sick and I'm only 4 weeks! Envy

kwastell · 16/09/2020 17:20

Hello @Rororow and congratulations 🎉

I'm so sorry about your daughter. I can't begin to imagine how hard that must be. ❤️

Thank you everyone for the reassurance on the spotting. Its not gotten any worse, and have just had a little bit more through the day, and no pain. So am thinking it's probably all fine.
