Hurray, lovely scan pics @EmeraldLily18 and @Wavesandsmilesencore. Bet you're so relieved @Wavesandsmilesencore 🎉 Hope your parents are excited @EmeraldLily18.

I've got the bloat too. Can't tell if it's the baby or I've been eating too much on holiday 😂 I'm 9 weeks today which feels like a bit of a milestone. Got a private scan on Tuesday, bit nervous, but feels like there's a baby down there so fairly positive.

Lovely pics to see this morning! Relief all round. ☺️ x

CakeAndPreggers · 29/08/2020 15:51

Great pictures! we have our first private scan next week at 8+3.
We won't be telling parent until after our 12 week scan - we don't live near either set so have said work is busy with deadlines in September and so it happens to fall near a husbands birthday so we are using that as an excuse to see both sides and I'll be 13+4 by the time we see anyone! Seems like a very long way away still!

Homassy · 29/08/2020 16:59

Hectic few days. Nice to see the scan pics! I’ve had an appt through for my twelve week scan on wed but at latest I’ll be 10 w 5. I’ll try ringing on Monday. Nhs website says 8-14 weeks for “12 week “ scan but I’m not sure about accuracy of nuchal measures at 10 weeks.

Absolutely wiped out here. TMI but writing this from the bath. Just asked OH to please please take 8 month old for next couple of hours and sort his tea because I’ve hit a wall

kwastell · 01/09/2020 13:59

How's everyone doing? I have a scan this evening - am bricking it. Booked the day off work as I didn't think I'd be able to concentrate, but am now struggling to distract myself! Should be 9 weeks 3 days if it's kept up growth from the previous scan at the EPU.

I have had a stressful week. Monday last week I had blood tests that showed normal HCG but slightly low progesterone, I am now on progesterone supplements but since it can increase your risk of miscarriage, they brought me back for more blood tests to make sure the pregnancy was progressing. It was, as of Thursday my HCG had more than doubled which is as expected for a healthy pregnancy. I then had spotting over the weekend (no pain) so they booked me in for a scan yesterday and they could see the sac but nothing else. I thought based on my dates I should be 7 weeks but according to this scan I appear 5 weeks so I possibly ovulated late and its too soon to see the baby or there may not be a viable pregnancy, no one really knows yet. I had more blood drawn and should know tomorrow if my numbers are up or down. Then I'll have another scan 9/9. The waiting in the first trimester is brutal.

Elspethelf · 01/09/2020 14:13

@kwastell I read that if you've already seen the heartbeat you have a greatly decreased risk of something being wrong. Were you able to see that in the first scan? Best wishes to you today!!

Tootletum · 01/09/2020 14:17

@Matilda19 I did early scans with two of my three kids, and they're both left handed. I had one private scan at 6 weeks and she switched on the 4d without asking, even though it is not recommended that early. There is apparently an association with handedness, not that it matters, but if you can wait until 10 weeks might be better.

kwastell · 01/09/2020 14:20

Sorry your week has been stressful @Elspethelf. I'm on progestogen too. Have you seen this research on it https://www.tommys.org/sites/default/files/PRISM%20Infographicv44_1.pdf

I had a scan after bleeding that didn't have an embryo, then in the scan the week after it was there with a heartbeat.

Got my fingers crossed for you.

I've read that about the chances of miscarriage significantly reducing after seeing a heartbeat, so am hopeful for that.

@kwastell I had not seen that. Thank you for sharing. Perhaps its working for me because I was told my lining is thick which is good

kwastell · 01/09/2020 18:41

All good at the scan. Is measuring 9 weeks 3 days which is bang on my ovulation date. Could see it's little arms and legs wiggling and a heartbeat. So relieved.

@kwastell lovely scan pic! So pleased for you that everything is progressing well 🎉

Elspethelf · 02/09/2020 06:37

@Kwastell Thats awesome!

I have also had some positive news, my HCG levels have gone up a normal amount again. From 2150 to 4800 and now over 12,000! It means there is still hope all is well.

I found out that because I had bleeding and my blood type is negative I had to have a shot because negative blood types could cause problems if the baby is a positive blood type. Apparently its fine and totally manageable, but I feel like I am learning things I just had no idea about and have never heard before. Its all kind of amazing

kwastell · 02/09/2020 09:53

That's great news about your hcg levels @Elspethelf 🎉

I didn't know that about blood types either. So many crazy things.

Caved and bought some maternity clothes last night (just leggings, knickers and nightwear) as mine are getting tight and uncomfortable. I'm sure I didn't need to buy them anywhere near this early with my DS1. I was really careful with buying stuff and hardly got anything. Whereas this time I can feel myself wanting to go all out and buy a load of stuff I don't need. Maybe it's the 2.5 years of trying that's built up to it 🙈

Hi all! I've moved over from the Cougar and Silver Fox thread too- nice to see some names I recognise. I just got my BFP on Monday at 4 weeks. I'm 36, no children and have had 2 early miscarriages this year so very nervous!

kwastell · 02/09/2020 17:50

Congratulations @Semele5069 🥳 lovely news

I got my BFP today at 9DPO!!!🙉
I think the frer line is pretty dark. I just made a thread about it before o saw this chat. Please can I hop on board🙋‍♀️ I was on the original thread a few months back, in the conception board.
I'm 35 & this will be my 3rd pregnancy.
Congratulations to all the other ladies. I'm going to have a little read through as I recognise some of the names 💐🥰

Congratulations @Chlo2701 🎉

Wow, that FRER line is super strong for 9dpo. Could you have ovulated early?

OP posts:
lastditchattempt20 · 03/09/2020 08:38

@Chlo2701 Congratulations! I agree- did you track ovulation? Also have never seen a 1-2 weeks that early, egg isn't usually fertilised/implanted until at least 6DPO. Unless there's more than one in there.... 😁
