I've got the lovely brown discharge again, but am taking inspiration from you having that and your scan being fine @lastditchattempt20. I had cervical erosion in previous pregnancies so hopefully it's just that playing up.

Did you get a photo @lastditchattempt20?

OP posts:
lastditchattempt20 · 22/08/2020 19:50

Yes @kwastell! Sorry you have discharge also- it's not pleasant and just unsettling.

Aw, I love seeing scan photos. Could you make out what was what?

Yeah, but not much to distinguish at less than 8w. Can see fetus (embryo?) and yolk sac and could see heartbeat. Not much other than that. She didn't say anything about any bleeding but I got impression that wasn't their focus. It seems a bit better this evening.

Joining from 35+ TTC and adding to the recap...

Homassy 40. Second baby unexpectedly quickly after first (long time to conceive and early losses in past). 8 and a half weeks.

Kwastell 35. Second baby. First baby conceived easily (age 4 now), second one has taken 2.5 years and 3 miscarriages. 7 and a half weeks.

KJB2020 38. First baby. Workaholic who thought I had missed the opportunity to have kids. 9weeks 6days

Wavesandsmilesencore. 5th baby (hopefully if I do have positive news on 29 August). Current DCs are 16, 14, just turned 7 and very nearly 5 (Friday is her birthday). 1st with DP met following my move to Europe for work. Conceived on 5th month of trying. Fingers still crossed but who knows

EmeraldLily18, 35, first baby after trying for 15 cycles (found out the day after DH had his SA!). I’m now around 6 weeks and 5 days

Lastditchattempt20, 39, second baby. Conceived on only 3rd month of trying but after 6 yrs of waiting to try following DD1. Finally on the same page so hoping that this one is successful! Due around April 7th if my dates are right

Elspethelf. 38, first baby, 5w +6, EDD April 19th. I'm anxious by nature and am overwhelmed by some things I read so I'm looking forward to having people to share with.

FunTryin41 · 23/08/2020 17:35

Hi Ladies, I'm a bit confused and looking for opinions, if I may...I'm 41, ttc #1 for about 5 or 6 months. I suspect a MC in January/February, but I definitely had one in April and another last monthaccording to HPTsso am now first cycle past MC.

I had crazy cramps around 5-6DPO then one brown spot yesterday (noticed only because I wore white undies, of course, as AF is supposed to be a week away). This AM brown CM when checked cervix, more dry brown post-coital (but def not blood); cervix is which is high and softish-firmish (can never really tell LOL).

I took a HPT this AM and got a clear positive (see photo). The problem? The test is expired :( (since April 2020).

I will get to the store and take another HPT when I can, but anyone know anything about false positives and expired HPTs? This is the same brand I used before and am now wondering if I was really ever PG before or could I just be getting false positives on this brand?! ...trying to keep my head in check but can't stop wondering! Any input?

P.S. Sorry for being rude, barging in, and not congratulating all the BFPs!!! So exciting :))) You bring hope to all. And big hugs to all who've had MCs. This journey can be so...so...life LOL

Homassy · 23/08/2020 18:33

Hi @FunTryin41 and @Elspethelf, we are the busiest thread but we’re the nicest Grin. I haven’t seen hpt like that but don’t think a recent expiry would affect it so cautious yippee! Hope you can get another test ASAP to confirm

KJB2020 · 23/08/2020 18:43

Hi @FunTryin41 and @Elspethelf welcome to the group.

How has everyone’s weekend been? I’ve been exhausted all weekend. I have had quite a busy few days, but really struggling with the tiredness.
I have midwife this week for first set of bloods.

lastditchattempt20 · 23/08/2020 18:49

Hi @Elspethelf glad you came to join us! I'm another anxious one so I'll share anything that I find helps.
@FunTryin41 the first test I used for my DD was prob a yr expired! Sounds like your CM could have been implantation bleeding? Fingers crossed for another BFP in a couple of days!

lastditchattempt20 · 23/08/2020 18:51

@KJB2020 I'm exhausted too. Need half an hour nap every afternoon- no idea how I'm going to manage back at work tomorrow after week off. Going to try on uniform tonight to check my baby bloat isn't showing too much. 🙈 Eating rubbish every hour to deal with nausea...

KJB2020 · 23/08/2020 18:56

@lastditchattempt20 hope your first day back goes well and you uniform fits 😀, nothing seems to fit me anymore with the bloated feeling.

Yeah I’m having to have a lie down most afternoons too.

Homassy · 23/08/2020 19:56

Whoops, I meant to say we ARE'NT the busiest thread but we're the nicest upthread xx

AnaMoz · 23/08/2020 20:58

Hey everyone and congrats on your BFPs! I’m currently 34 but will be 35 by my due date of 22nd April 2021. This is my first pregnancy and I have no clue what is going on. Been reassuring reading other people’s posts so thank you.

indecisivewoman81 · 23/08/2020 21:08

Hi everyone!

I'm 38 and got my BFP last week with a rough due date of 24April. This is my third, I already have a 10 year old and a 7 year old.

lastditchattempt20 · 23/08/2020 21:25

Hi @indecisivewoman81 and @AnaMoz nice to have you! I think there are definitely additional considerations and a different perspective when pregnant within our age group and it's nice to have somewhere to share them.

lastditchattempt20 · 23/08/2020 21:33

Has anyone discussed the NIPT test yet with Dr/MW? We're planning to have it done, probably will need to pay (££) but it's something we want to do. Wondered if others were.

CrazyFooLady · 23/08/2020 21:35

Hi!
Got my BFP on Tuesday and I'm so bloated!
I'm also 40 and this will be child no 4.
Still in shock as I wasn't expecting to have anymore kids, my kids ages are 13,10 and 9.
I will be 5 weeks tomorrow (technically) been feeling really sick, tired and have sore boobs. Been sleeping like poop too plus the smell of eggs and coffee make me want to 🤮🤮
Been getting some brown/pink discharge over the past couple of days that has got me worried, that and I'm very very bloated.
Congratulations to u all x

@lastditchattempt20 I have been offered the NIPT test as part of my first set of bloods at 12 weeks, which is this week. It is routinely offered in Scotland on NHS.
lastditchattempt20 · 23/08/2020 22:00

@KJB2020 that's good. I'm looking at about £400 to have it done here.

Cmini · 23/08/2020 22:11

Hi everyone,

Been lurking for a couple of weeks but felt a bit bad saying hello as ours was a surprise BFP. I hope you don't mind me joining you. I feel like you might be my people!

I'm 41 and 7+4 today with DC3 (have DD7 and DS4) and it's been a tumultuous few weeks to say the least! First the shock of a BFP (I thought I was peri-menopausal!) and then, just as I'd got my head around it, I started spotting. Scan at EPU last week revealed a small haematoma but otherwise all good and a lovely heartbeat!

Was sick throughout both my previous pregnancies but this time the nausea is on another level. It's relentless. I'm on my second set of meds but going to phone in the morning and see if I can try something else. I'm a teacher so have had the luxury of time off but really need to get on top of this before I return to work next week!

@lastditchattempt20 I’m now thinking that this test I am being offered is not the same thing? This is just a blood test for High/low risk for Downs, Edwards and Patau’s .... I think the NIPT is more advanced?

lastditchattempt20 · 23/08/2020 22:41

NIPT looks at those things by looking at fetal DNA so I think it's meant to be more accurate than standard NHS triple screen. Also tells you the sex of baby. But all depends if they can get a decent enough sample as the amount of fetal DNA in maternal bloodstream varies.

It's (literally) not looking good with the uniform... 🙈 Really hope I deflate a bit overnight and control pants help a bit! It's all a bit snug and really don't want questions.. 🤞🏻
