@Sexnotgender Hey 😆

Milliemoo222 · 03/08/2020 11:16

@npn1989 my nap was over an hour and woke with a jump so I think was maybe the shock! Ha!
@xxhetty so hard to keep quiet about it all, i was the same saturday trying hard not to tell anyone. Think we will after our private scan (family only)
@Lettie365 downloaded the couch to 5k...never started! Good work!
@glasses2020 the offical NHS first scan is between 8-14 weeks, depending on delays etc. where they will do some checks and give you feedback. www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/dating-scan-ultrasound-10-11-12-13-weeks-pregnant/
The scan I have booked will be about 8weeks, but I have booked because DH may not be able to come in with me and as this is our first I want him to experience it all with me and plus I really do not want to wait! I have a booking app with midwives on the 7th, to then give me a later nhs scan, so at the booking I might already be 10 weeks.
I think people are advised to wait until the end of 1st trimester to tell people, but it should be your decision and how you feel!

Hey @Lettie365 are you on the C25k thread on here? I’m just starting week 9.

Lettie365 · 03/08/2020 11:24

@Sexnotgender didn’t know there was a thread. Will go and have a look. I’ve just finished week 7 but it’s been so hot my SIL had a break after 18mins so I think we’re going to repeat it again this week. Got my BFP on Thursday morning - went for a run and it was 24degrees at 8am and thought I was going to throw up in the hedgerow! Hoping tonight’s run is a little more successful! 😂 well done on getting to week 9!

@glasses2020 I think no stage of the pregnancy is deemed 100% secure but the chances of anything going wrong are drastically reduced by the second trimester hence why people wait for their 12 week scan. As a rule of thumb for me I only told a few people early last time and they were only people I would want to seek support from should the worst happen. Not a nice thing to think about but probably for the best. An example is that my cousin was pregnant the same time as me and I wanted to tell her early on but then thought as she was pregnant i probably wouldnt want to rely on her for support if I miscarried so I waited until 12 weeks to tell her. Theres no right or wrong though, just do what feels best for you xx

@Tiff94 Thanks 😊

Sexnotgender · 03/08/2020 15:55

I’ve told my parents but that’s because my mum is like a bloodhound and would have spotted my lack of wine when they were here for dinner on Friday!

Tiff94 · 03/08/2020 15:57

How's everyone feeling today?

First day for me so far I haven't had much nausea this morning but it tends to be worst in the afternoon/evening so who knows.

OP posts:
Tiff94 · 03/08/2020 15:59

@Sexnotgender when I told my mum she's like I had a idea this might happen soon haha 😂 mother's always know... I've only told my best friends other then our parents because she always tells me when she was with her first and any pregnancy scares I'd be her first call so had to tell her but she had an idea too because apparently had see my pregnancy vitamins in a video call one day but never said anything until I told her 🤭

Milliemoo222 · 03/08/2020 16:01

@Sexnotgender Mums do seem to notice things! I have only driven to things do far, struggled ordering drinks that looked like alcohol the other evening, many tonics! Confused
@Tiff94 glad to hear it is better for you today! Fingers crossed for later.
I have nothing other than slight cramps, like pulling and sore boobs, nothing else for me. Finding it hard to belive sometimes!
Oh and i have developed a lack of being able to concentrate on anything other! Grin

Sexnotgender · 03/08/2020 16:31

I’ve got very few symptoms. A little bit of nausea and tired but my boobs are fine, I’m still breastfeeding my 18 month old so I don’t know if it’s because of that?

BuckleUp · 03/08/2020 17:00

@Tiff94 no obvious symptoms. I've had a metallic taste in my mouth since about 10dpo and had constant mild AF type cramps for a few days. My boobs are as sore as they usually get when I ovulate.. How far along are you?

@Milliemoo222 I also seem to have developed a lack of concentration on anything else.. I hope my mind gets back on track soon or I'll never be able to keep it quiet!

@Sexnotgender Glad you're not suffering yet!

Has anyone else contacted work yet? Being only 4 weeks I didn't want to, but I have made confidential calls to HR and our coronavirus helpline to figure out what I'm supposed to do regarding the virus. It looks like I can keep going in until I'm 28 weeks as long as I follow standard Covid guidance, so I can tell my boss after my first scan as planned which is a relief!

Sexnotgender · 03/08/2020 18:03

I’m not contacting work until at least 20 weeks. I’m WFH until at least Christmas anyway.

Lettie365 · 03/08/2020 18:15

@BuckleUp
Are you in health care? X

BuckleUp · 03/08/2020 18:20

@Lettie365 No I'm in engineering. I've worked from home since March but I've been asked to go back on site in the next fortnight, so was wanting to make sure I wasn't going against any local rules. I'm pleased I can wait until after the 12 week scan to tell my boss, it feels like tempting fate otherwise..

Lettie365 · 03/08/2020 19:11

@BuckleUp ah wow - interesting job. I’m a radiographer so have to deal with radiation protection and Covid but not sure when to tell my boss. Needs to be sooner rather than later so they can risk assess but al my bosses are men or power hungry woman so I don’t think it’s going to go down well.
I’m also doing a post grad that they are paying for that I’m meant to finish in Dec and I don’t want them to Panic and assume I won’t finish it, When covid dependent I’ll still complete. Too many what ifs 🤦🏼‍♀️

BuckleUp · 03/08/2020 19:38

@Lettie365 That does sound like a hard decision. It's difficult when it's based on so many ifs and buts too isn't it? You'll have plenty of time to finish your post grad.

Does anyone else get fairly constant cramping? It's like mild period pains but I've had it on and off (mostly on) for a few days. It's stressing me out a little in case bean isn't sticking..

Tiff94 · 03/08/2020 21:44

@BuckleUp I had these like a pulling stitch feeling in your stomach, I think it's normal just your muscles stretching everything happens so quickly inside us 😃

Tiff94 · 03/08/2020 21:46

@BuckleUp I plan to tell my boss after my first scan once I'm back from holidays taking two weeks off end of this week with DH who has worked the entire coronavirus period so he needs a break but I want to tell her so she doesn't mind me taking breaks and not doing so much heavy work or moving furniture ect( I work as a private cleaner in a house )

Hi everyone! Got my BFP today, tentative due date is 12th April. This is baby #2, DD1 is 10 months so two under 18 months is a little scary! So far, slightly queasy with some smells and very tired!!

glasses2020 · 03/08/2020 23:07

I am experiencing lots of cramps too... sort of on and off but all day. Very mild, like period pains... and gas. I am also feeling very full as soon as I eat, is this normal?

Thanks ladies x

Evori · 04/08/2020 06:26

Morning Smile Recently got my bfp after 5 years of ttc and a miscarriage in March so fingers crossed this one sticks! Only symptom I'm having is the pulling/cramping constantlyConfused EDD 12th April!
