@LeopardLover Hello age twin! 👋 I was considering Harmony partly due to age risks (aware the NHS gives high/low risk anyway and added tests if high risk) but predominantly because it's my first and I'm just so nervous about everything.

It is quite dear but I think it will give me peace of mind and an added bonus that you can find out the sex earlier.

I haven't booked it yet but leaning towards it. I may end up just getting an early scan and then opting for the test after the NHS scan if I'm still undecided. Essentially I don't know what I'm doing?! Haha 🙃

So excited for you and @FluffyKittensinabasket for your early scans. I bet you can't wait! 🤞

Xx

LeopardLover · 24/08/2020 12:07

@Coffeeandtheriver I think I'll wait for the NHS to say high/low then go from there. I understand how you're feeling though - I feel clueless and want all the info but I'm not ready to tell anyone I know yet.

I wasn't planning an early scan then I saw loads of others doing it and thought, why not! Opted for 8 weeks so I've got a stronger chance of seeing that heartbeat. 😊

I just want to be 6 weeks already! 😅

leaferty · 24/08/2020 14:03

@Coffeeandtheriver I had the harmony test with my first when I was 30. I didn't have risk factors but having seen a friend give birth to a baby with Down's syndrome after getting low risk numbers at her scan, I just would prefer to have the extra level of info. I will be doing the same again this time if things progress. X

After having a few days of worrying I am so pleased I came back on here for a little read to find I am not alone! I have no real reason to be worrying but since getting over the initial feelings of the positive I've started to feel nervous about things going wrong! I haven't had any nausea/sickness yet (5 weeks) but finding myself questioning, are my boobs less sore today? Why? Should I feel like this/that? Surely this anxiety is normal at this stage?? I'm trying to tell myself that I'm doing everything I can to make sure my little grain of rice has the best start in there and that's the very best I can do!

megmcc93 · 24/08/2020 16:38

@KLM31 I'm the same. I have had sickness and nausea but I am so so anxious - it's taken over me and as soon as I wake up my mind just starts going over and over. You are definitely not alone and everyone I've spoken to has said it's completely normal to feel this.
My sister did say to me that I have to relax and enjoy it otherwise I'll get to 9 months and I'll look back and be sad I worried rather than enjoying it. 🥰

KLM31 · 24/08/2020 16:43

Thank you @megmcc93 for reassuring me!! I'm trying to keep myself busy so my mind is distracted from worrying, I want to be really positive and just enjoy it all! It's good to know I'm not alone though!

AlbertCookie · 25/08/2020 11:38

Hi all I am tentatively joining!

I had a positive test just over a week ago....and as I had an ectopic/tube removal surgery in Feb this year, I am super anxious and nervous now. I have an early scan tomorrow morning to see if everything is looking OK. I should be around 6 weeks now, so EDD is 20/04/2021 - but as I will most likely have a C section due to my previous baby issues, will more likely be end of march maybe.

I have also previously suffered a neonatal loss, and also have an 8 year old DS. Oh and I'm also 34 to the two ladies above!

I have been having terrible nausea the last few days, so I'm hoping that's a good sign!!
Good luck everyone

Welliedays · 25/08/2020 12:03

Congratulations @albertcookie, I hope this pregnancy goes well for you.

I'm a good week or so behind you, my edd is 29 April. Had a couple of evenings of nausea, but not that many and generally feel like my normal self.. Who knew I'd be wanting to feel sick ahaha

megmcc93 · 25/08/2020 12:14

Hi @AlbertCookie we have the same due date. I'm 6 weeks today, feeling very nauseous and exhausted. Hoping this pregnancy goes smoothly for you. Xx

LeopardLover · 25/08/2020 12:42

@AlbertCookie Another member of the 34 club! 😉 I hope tomorrow's scan goes well and puts your mind at ease. It's understandable you'd be feeling a little anxious. I see nausea as a great sign - like @Welliedays, I want more (she says).

AlbertCookie · 25/08/2020 12:52

Thank you all, I will let you know the outcome.

If tomorrow's goes well, also may consider having a private scan so that OH can come along - this is his first (well 2nd technically after the ectopic) as my first 2 were with my ex. So I'm sad that he's going to miss out if all is well!

Welliedays · 25/08/2020 15:25

Please can we talk boobs. I've been living in a low support sports bra (more an over the head crop top style) and today I thought I'd put another sports bra on. But it felt incredibly tight. I've changed into one of my normal bras (underwired and slight padding), but it's not comfy either. I'm only 4 weeks 4 days so feel it's super early to be entering boob issues already. What is anyone doing for bras, or does anyone, a couple of weeks ahead of me, have any tips? Obviously trying bras on in shops isn't really an option at the moment and to be honest I'm a bit unsure about going out to the shops anyway as we have a couple of local outbreaks in the nearest local towns. I'm thinking something low cost, hopefully stretchy to get a good amount of time out of it.. And I'm not fussed about it being pretty or pushing my boobs in the tight direction - practical is my aim!!

Sexnotgender · 25/08/2020 15:57

I’m still wearing my super attractive nursing bras. I only stopped nursing a week ago so I have an excuse but they’re comfy.

Would something like these do the trick do you think? I feel so uncomfy today!

Milliemoo222 · 25/08/2020 16:31

@Welliedays I have had for me bad boob pain. Just so constant and achy! First I tried no bra but if I move in my sleep...ouch or at all! I have been wearing like a seamless crop top style bra at night just for some support and non underwire soft bras- pretty much the nursing m&s ones. I have also ordered bra extenders and then if you feel they are a little tight can add an extra bit on :)
Hoping this means I can wear the ones I have brought for longer too!

Welliedays · 25/08/2020 16:32

They do look comfy @sexnotgender, I might need to add them to my list if options!

Welliedays · 25/08/2020 18:44

Thanks @milliemoo222 they look to be a good bet!! I've also seen the same sports bra that I love on ebay (it's years old and the one I've found is bnwt 🙌🏻🙌🏻) so hoping I'll win it, that would make my day aha

Serethiel · 25/08/2020 20:16

Hello :) I'm due April 3rd and I'm iny other April threads but thought I'd pop in and say hi!

Olive1701 · 25/08/2020 20:23

Hi all
Due 10th April with our first!
Had a private 6 week scan and all looked as it should and heartbeat was detected (so cute Smile)
I had booked another scan for 10 weeks but decided I couldn’t wait that long so now going Monday when I will be 8+2 as well! Anybody else having scans privately? My hospital is still only allowing me to the routine scans and I deffo wanted my partner with me for the first couple! (I couldn’t have waited til 12 weeks anyway!)
I have never really been a worrier but the anxiety of just wanting everything to be ok is getting to me a little even though I know most things are out of my hands now!
Hope everyone else is well x

LeopardLover · 25/08/2020 21:15

Hello @Serethiel and welcome @Olive1701 😊

How exciting there was a heartbeat! I've booked my first scan in for 8+2. Just counting down the days. 😉 I've never been much of a worrier either but feel the same!

megmcc93 · 25/08/2020 22:15

Hi @Serethiel and @Olive1701 welcome ☺️.

I have a scan on Thursday to check if I have an ectopic due to pain on my left side - Dr thinks it's unlikely but can't rule it out without a scan. I'll be 6 + 2 so hoping everything will be ok and I'll maybe see a heartbeat.

Hope everyone is doing ok!

Olive1701 · 25/08/2020 22:31

Thank you @Serethiel ! It put my mind at ease for about a week but now I am eager to go back again and see how baby is getting on! X

Hi @megmcc93 , I had so many twinges in the first few weeks- It was hard not to convince myself something wasn’t as it should be. Sending all positive thoughts your way for your scan- do let us know how you get on x

When do you plan on telling people? I’ve told my parents, in laws, sister and boss so far. At work I occasionally have some heavy lifting (So fat bee. Ok!). Just wondering if people are going to twig on as soon as I say I am no longer able to lift things I did before- not sure if the old bad back trick will work! X

Olive1701 · 25/08/2020 22:32

Omg I meant so far ok Grin no fat bees haha!

EmB29 · 26/08/2020 09:17

Hi all,
So lovely to find this group! I’m also due April 2021 (feels so strange to be writing that!) with my first baby.
I’ve been finding the first trimester very weird as you have the positive tests (all 8 of them...!) but no-one actually tells you you have a baby and that’s it’s ok! I’ve booked an 8 week scan for Friday as I couldn’t wait for 12 weeks!
Hope everyone is feeling ok today xx
