I usually run at least a 5k most days, finally plucked up some effort to go out and I've only managed 2.5k. 🙄 Any other runners out there? I'm not sure whether to stop running or not!

BuckleUp · 22/08/2020 15:10

@Busybee143 I'm a runner and mountain biker and have carried on (6+5 weeks). I'm actually finding it helps with the nausea if I can get out past it in the first place. I'm not pushing myself as hard as I seem to tire quicker, but I've managed a 3 and 5 mile run this week and I'm just back from an 18 mile mountain bike ride (all at a much slower pace than usual!). Do whatever you feel comfortable with, your body will tell you if you're overdoing it x

Busybee143 · 22/08/2020 15:27

@buckleUp I will carry on and deffo take it much slower, I didn't run during my other two pregnancy's and they failed so I think that may tell me something

BuckleUp · 22/08/2020 15:41

@Busybee143 Aww I'm sorry to hear that, though it also shows the cause isn't exercise. My mum keeps trying to get me to stop, but the NHS website says exercising at your normal level is fine, just not to ramp it up quickly or push yourself too close to your limits. It's good for your mind too 😊. Good luck, I hope it all goes well for you this time x

Sexnotgender · 22/08/2020 17:39

I’m definitely not ‘a runner’ by any stretch of the imagination but I’ve recently finished couch 2 5k and been trying to get out for a 30 minute run 3 times a week. Not been out since Tuesday this week though as had some spotting on Thursday and didn’t want to do anything bad accidentally. Will try and get out tomorrow morning.

Busybee143 · 22/08/2020 17:57

@buckleUp I'm sure everything will be OK this time round.
@Sexnotgender how far gone are you? I'm sure it's nothing to worry about

BuckleUp · 22/08/2020 17:58

@Sexnotgender You run therefore you're a runner 😊. Well done on finishing the c25k! I hope your spotting has cleared up? x

Sexnotgender · 22/08/2020 17:59

I’m 7 weeks, thankfully it’s stopped now. Was just on Thursday. I spoke to my midwife yesterday and she wasn’t overly concerned.

Nichelette · 22/08/2020 18:04

I stopped jogging because I was so exhausted and the heat was too much. Am quite gutted about it yo be honest. I have thought about trying again now it's a bit cooler but I still think I'd be tired.

Funnily I've just got an email with my first appointment but it's not until the day I hit 13 weeks and it's on a Sunday. They must be so busy. I'm tempted by a private scan because I'm going to be waiting ages by the looks of it, and yesterday I read DH can't be there which made me quite sad as it's our first.

BlueBird93 · 22/08/2020 21:16

Hi guys hope you don't mind me joining, I'm 5weeks today. Feeling super anxious about this trimester, its my first pregnancy and feel that everyone I know (bar a small few) have all had miscarriages at some point. I'm not overly worrying but at same time find myself thinking about it too often. I've got a scan booked for 7 weeks, is anyone else getting an early scan?

I know the scan only shows a point in time, however at the moment I don't really feel pregnant (bar nausea last week and sore boobs, but these symptoms have subsided) so feel I need something physical to see?
Thanks XX

OneStepOneStumble · 22/08/2020 22:09

@Nichelette I'm tempted by a private scan for this reason too. First appointments seem so long away! And I want dh to experience it with me.

OneStepOneStumble · 22/08/2020 22:11

@BlueBird93 I feel the same - it's all a bit abstract at the moment and I don't really feel any different. I feel like I need to see something. My anxiety is so high because obv you have no idea what's going on until that first appointment unless you book privately

Robson13 · 22/08/2020 22:34

@BlueBird93 I feel exactly the same as you. I'm 5 weeks today and after trying to concieve for over 3 years I feel like I should be excited but I just can not relax. I have a scan booked for week 7 but only because I had IVF and they need to check if I need to stay on the hormones I've been taking. I haven't had any symptoms of pregnancy really apart from feeling tired on an afternoon. I'm trying to distract myself until I get the scan

BlueBird93 · 23/08/2020 08:47

@OneStepOneStumble totally understand. Doesn't feel real!! but 5 weeks is early so i know that it would change with coming weeks, however knowing an early scan is an option feels nice. Do you have one booked? @Robson13 that is a long journey, i empathise with you and hope everything goes well for you

Sexnotgender · 23/08/2020 08:52

Managed a run this morning. Felt ok but a bit nauseous when I finished! Ran just under 4k so not super far but enough to get the blood going.

Tiff94 · 23/08/2020 09:09

How's everyone today? Felt like I didn't sleep and waiting to throw up. My new normal...

@Sexnotgender well done you, you managed further than me!!
@Tiff94 I feel like I'm full of a cold again, I've had a sore throat for the last few days and now I'm all snotty (sorry tmi 😂) any body else like this? I know I've not got a cold I think it's because I'm tired. I'm honestly feeling a little stressed at my lack of symptoms 😞

Welliedays · 23/08/2020 09:48

@tiff94 I tested again today!

(I'm really struggling to post this so it might suddenly appear 20 times)!

I think the frer is quite conclusive. Was hoping the line on the other one (supermarket cheap) would be a bit bolder - it's a 25 mcg one. Should it be bolder by now 18dpo, CD31, 9 days after implantation bleed?!

But it looks like I'm on course for 29th April!

LeopardLover · 23/08/2020 22:32

@BlueBird93 I can relate!! I'm just over 5 weeks but don't feel overly different, except for the constipation and occasional waves of nausea. I want to feel something - which is why I'm craving a bit of full on nausea 😉 I actually don't know anyone personally who has had miscarriage, or so I thought! My MIL was chatting about the numerous MC in the family (not knowing I'm pregnant) and so now I'm freaking out a little - but still believing we have a sticky bean! X

Coffeeandtheriver · 24/08/2020 09:39

@BlueBird93 @LeopardLover - I feel exactly the same. It's my first pregnancy and I am a bit older (34) and just longing for all of the symptoms so I can feel 'more pregnant'.

I've had no nausea and no significant tiredness. I read that this tends to start around 6 weeks (next week) so I'm trying my best (very unsuccessfully) to be patient and distract myself.

I'm considering an early-ish private scan (+ possible Harmony) around 10 weeks. That still seems so far away 😫

I'm glad there's a community here chat in these early limbo stages when you can't really talk to many people in 'real life'.

Xx

FluffyKittensinabasket · 24/08/2020 09:56

I feel exhausted and sick all day at 6 weeks. Booked a scan for next week as if a heartbeat is detected at 6/7 weeks, this lowers the chances of a miscarriage.

FluffyKittensinabasket · 24/08/2020 10:02

I was running on a treadmill 3 times a week but I feel to exhausted to do more than a walk at the moment!

LeopardLover · 24/08/2020 10:07

@Coffeeandtheriver We're age twins! I never felt old until I found the mumsnet forums 😅 I've booked a scan in for 8 weeks. I wasn't really considering Harmony unless something was flagged. Are you just worried about the risks attached to being mid-30s? X

LeopardLover · 24/08/2020 10:35

@FluffyKittensinabasket I'm counting down until my 8 week scan! I want to see that strong heartbeat. It's crazy how a tiny little thing can suck so much energy 😅
