Hope you managed to get some sleep in the end guys. I think I need to stop overthinking everything. My BBT is back up this morning 😅

xxhetty · 10/08/2020 06:41

Really glad to hear that @BuckleUp it's so hard not to at the early stages though

Noneyerbuisness11234 · 10/08/2020 07:12

I was up 4 times in the night but I don't look at my fone anymore when I do otherwise the screen light really wakes me and I'd lay all nite on it lol
Hope u girls got bk to sleep

sindylouwho · 10/08/2020 08:22

My boobs are so so sore. Also everyone is annoying me!!! Just want to stay in bed and wake up in a better mood tomorrow

BuckleUp · 10/08/2020 09:28

I'm feeling queasy this morning.. each time I cough I feel close to gagging 😢. Any advice to make it go away? I have a phobia of vomit and only counselling up to this point has allowed me to even consider pregnancy.. I get pretty panicky unfortunately and I'm not sure I'm ready for this 😔

Noneyerbuisness11234 · 10/08/2020 09:33

@BuckleUp not everyone actually vomits I didn't with my last one but felt nauseous the whole way through which prevented me eating much that's prob y I wasn't sick I found little and often helped

Noneyerbuisness11234 · 10/08/2020 09:35

I seam to b wanting to clean loads iv just rearranged my whole living room and dining room but I'm knackered lol

myheadisajunglejungle · 10/08/2020 09:39

@BuckleUp I was rarely sick with my last two, but the nausea and gagging were horrendous. I ate a biscuit before I got out of bed and took small sips of water frequently, apart from a few weeks in the first trimester where for some reason I couldn't bear water and had to have 7up instead. I tried travel sickness bands too but I can't really remember if they helped.

myheadisajunglejungle · 10/08/2020 09:42

Also, I found pregnacare tablets made the nausea soooooo much worse. I take seven seas instead.

BuckleUp · 10/08/2020 09:49

@myheadisajunglejungle @Noneyerbuisness11234 Thanks guys for the reassurance. The idea of morning sickness has always put me off TTC, but we reached the point where we needed to or we never would. Fingers crossed it's just nausea. If it gets bad I'm hoping the doctors can prescribe anti sickness medication.

ML3on4tay · 10/08/2020 10:30

@BuckleUp in my last pregnancy I had such awful nausea and vomiting the whole way through I was on anti emetics. My advice would be not to wait until it gets too bad! You'll also find what works for you food and drinks wise. I found the second trimester way better (only sick once or twice a day) and the first and third were a bit crappy but the anti emetics were amazing.

ML3on4tay · 10/08/2020 10:32

@BuckleUp also just seen your post before about counselling and phobia of vomiting - I'd go chat to the doctors now rather than wait until any sickness as they should be able to help you. I found chewing gum helped my nausea before and snacking fairly constantly. Fingers crossed it passes for you.

BuckleUp · 10/08/2020 10:43

@ML3on4tay Thank you. I'm hoping it's marked on my medical record as I had to go through the NHS to get the CBT therapy. Unfortunately because it's something nobody enjoys (obviously), people tend to think I'm being over dramatic. I'm better than I was, but I still don't react rationally I'm embarrassed to say. I'll ask my midwife about it on the 26th unless I start getting actually sick before then and need to see a doc. Munching on a couple of ginger biscuits for now!

SunnySideUp2020 · 10/08/2020 10:53

Has anyone got nausea some days and some not at all??

I had such bad few days and suddenly today nothing. I eat normally and don't feel nauseous at all???

glasses2020 · 10/08/2020 11:10

@BuckleUp little and often has really helped me, also the nausea is better when my stomach is not empty. Also try sucking on boiled sweets.

@SunnySideUp2020 I have experienced that too.. I didn't know if I just was getting used to it, or my mind was playing tricks on me! X

Tiff94 · 10/08/2020 11:11

Hey ladies, so finally got back to sleep at 6am and just woke up now feeling awful of course, nausea doesn't want to give me a break today @SunnySideUp2020 somedays I find I feel better then others they snacking and though the day if you can like @BuckleUp I find ginger biscuits to be good.
@ML3on4tay my mum keeps telling me chew on gum but I haven't tried this yet.
@xxhetty hope you got back to sleep too. I swear last night was the worst sleep so far.

@SunnySideUp2020 Today's the first bit of nausea I've had. It seems to hit if I get hungry (even though I'd just eaten breakfast). I hope it stays away for you now though!

@glasses2020 Little and often is definitely helping. It seems worse if my stomach is empty. I'm going to buy some sour sweets I think just in case.

@Tiff94 Chewing gum worked for me when I had that awful metallic taste. I think it's because the excess saliva you produce when nauseous is hidden so you can forget about it. The ginger biscuits mid-morning worked a treat!

FluffyKittensinabasket · 10/08/2020 11:22

Morning ladies! I’m so glad I can WFH, I feel nauseous all of the time!

npn1989 · 10/08/2020 11:27

Thanks for setting up the FB group @Tiff94! I only use FB for marketplace and a May 2018 group for my first baby :) but it's much easier to use than Mumsnet, I don't really understand how to use this haha.

Sorry a few of you are feeling nauseous and struggling with sleep. It's the sleep and tiredness for me, and other than tender boobs I dont have any other symptoms. I was the same last time too. Early days though, could all change haha!

Tiff94 · 10/08/2020 11:41

@FluffyKittensinabasket I hear you. I'm on two weeks holidays now so glad because the sickness gets to me most days. Harder to push through work when you feel like something is suck in your throat about to come out...

Anyway let's all hope for a great day and a better night tonight... I find it funny baby's not even here and I'm up at the 3am call haha 😂

Booked my private scan for the 2nd September when I should be 8 weeks and got my booking in appointment letter through and that's the 3rd. Nothing yet about my NHS scan so I reckon it'll be late.

BuckleUp · 10/08/2020 12:53

@ML3on4tay The lady that booked me in with the midwife told me the 12 week scan appointment would be when I attend the booking in appointment. Maybe your maternity unit has the same process?

ML3on4tay · 10/08/2020 13:27

@BuckleUp I'm not sure as my booking in appointment is a telephone call and it mentions making a referral for my scan, but I think that happens after the appointment. Gah I hate the waiting it's so hard!

Tiff94 · 10/08/2020 14:19

@ML3on4tay same mine booking appointment is telephone and I received a couples days later the first scan at like 11/12 weeks I think it is and I will get bloods done there

OP posts:
ML3on4tay · 10/08/2020 14:38

@Tiff94 that's so exciting! I hope mine is the same. With my first baby my first scan was at 13 weeks and it just seems such a long wait. 11/12 is much better. Did you get your pack about where to have baby?
