hey ladies!

thanks for the new thread @cannotmakemymindup

wow, seems like we'll have some babies by the end of this week potentially!!

I'm 39 weeks today, and doesn't feel like it's happening anytime soon for me! Gotta say, I'm not too uncomfortable so don't mind waiting it out a little bit though as I still have work to finish up, only thing is the heat - it's 30+ degrees where I am :/

@watermelonsugar99 so sorry to hear your sickness is back, I can't imagine dealing with that again at this stage - was utterly miserable. You have my full sympathy - and we're here if you need a moan!

Superscientist · 27/07/2020 16:00

@kersh33 we have a couple large muslin squares (120x120 cm or 4ft x4ft) which we plan to use as swaddles at first in place of sleeping bags.

Havlerr · 27/07/2020 16:01

So jealous of all of you that are having twinges and signs baby might be on their way. I’m 37+4 and not a smidge of any different feelings or way to tell. Don’t even think my bump has dropped but not 100% sure about that!

@kersh33 the advice is to use a cellular blanket or large muslin until you feel confident that baby is large enough not to have their shoulders slip down the neck hole of the sleeping bags. I’ve bought 2 cellular blankets (one very thin one and one normal one) and a few extra large muslins from TK Maxx as August might be super hot, or also cold because we all know how hormonal UK weather is!

Hi I haven’t posted for ages but I need to have a rant!!... I feel so rubbish I’m 38 wks exactly and I’m having a c section in 7 days! I’ve literally had enough! I feel so fainty, stiff, something has clicked out of place in my back, so I’m v uncomfortable! I’m literally propped up on pillows atm watching daytime tv.. I’ve hardly move in the last 3 days as I overdid it taking kids to steam and having friends kids over...
I’ve had a ‘go’ at my husband because he was being so unsupportive... he literally came in the room yesterday and demanded “what is wrong with you?’... I said “I dont feel very well” he said ‘well, what is it?’ I said ‘don’t you think being this pregnant is enough!!’... I was sat there with swollen feet propped up on pillows looking like jabba the hut and my husband was insinuating I was faking it?!?!
Ok rant over!... deep breath! Back to zen!

watermelonsugar99 · 27/07/2020 17:14

@gemso2020 thank you so much! It really is the worst thing ever. It's so hard to enjoy your pregnancy when from 5 weeks you've been constantly vomiting and backwards & forwards to hospital getting drips!

I was awake until 5am vomiting every single thing up food and liquids wise so currently lying in bed feeling sorry for myself. Sending DP to the shops when he finishes work for some lucozade and rehydration tablets, fingers crossed they work and it's not another trip back to hospital Sad I'm trying to keep myself positive in thinking I don't have long now as I get induced next Friday if he hasn't arrived by then, but I honestly really don't want to be induced and felt like I didn't have a choice in the matter!

watermelonsugar99 · 27/07/2020 17:17

@Louisaizzy oh men really don't understand what it's like! My DP is the same, as much as he tries to support me I know he's fed up of me moaning but I think they forget we're growing humans inside of us!! Would love for them to be in our position for just one day, I bet it would be a whole different story if they had to carry a babyGrin Hope you feel better soon! Thanks

Louisaizzy · 27/07/2020 17:22

Thanks 😊 I don’t feel so bad after hearing your vomiting story! I’m not the only one in bed! Hope you feel better soon! Or at least the sickness stops!

Firstbub · 27/07/2020 18:11

Hi ladies. I am so stupid- I’ve followed this thread from the start but I seem to loose it for weeks on end, find it and then loose it again for another month or so! But just realised I’ve been searching Netmums and not mumsnet for the threads 🙈🙈 How do I keep track of this thread? Will bookmarking one of the posts do it? At least I know what website now Smile

I am 37+3 (due 14/08). My tummy has dropped and I can literally feel baby’s shoulders at the bottom of my bump that sticks out. It’s so painful (my muscles must be trying to hold my tummy/him up). Does anyone have any tips to help ease the soreness?

WeeScottishWife · 27/07/2020 18:29

@NamiSwan I hope your sweep goes well! I'm not having one at 40 weeks, but will see how I feel come 41 if she's still not come along by then.

@kersh33 We have cellular blankets.

Louisaizzy · 27/07/2020 19:04

@Firstbub I think most of us are at the bitter end stage now and unfortunately the only relief we will get is once we give birth.. then we will have another set of aches and pains! Think we the first your tummy is less stretchy as I haven’t struggled as much with pains from baby this time!

Bert2020 · 27/07/2020 20:08

@Firstbub you will find it in your I’m on threads and if you bookmark will take you back to the last message.

mable88 · 27/07/2020 20:58

So hubby and I went for a day at the seaside today, which ended up involving lots of walking - approximately 4 times as much as I’ve been doing
each day on average for the last couple of weeks 🙈 have had near constant braxton hicks this evening, baby has been mega active and I’ve had a few niggles and cramps (but nothing significant). Have I just overdone it? Or have I triggered labour?! I know this is a ridiculous question and time will obviously tell but hubby keeps quizzing me as to whether I’m in labour or not 😂 I’m 36+6, so it would be a bit early if it’s the real thing. Part of me hopes it’s not while part of my is absolutely desperate to meet our little girl!

heroineinahalfshell · 27/07/2020 23:35

@mable88 if I walk more than a mile it kicks off loads of braxton hicks - we walked about 3 miles on Saturday and I had BH all night, no sign of labour yet though! This was at 37w exactly.

squashie34 · 28/07/2020 06:36

@kersh33 have a little look at the 'love to dream' swaddle bags as they do them right from newborn- a few of the other ladies on there recommended them x

mable88 · 28/07/2020 08:28

@heroineinahalfshell yeah I’d read that physical exertion can trigger Brixton hicks and we walked 5/6 miles yesterday - I’m doing well on a normal day to hit 2, so it was a lot more than usual. And no baby overnight so I think I’m back to waiting 😂

Kalesandwich · 28/07/2020 08:57

Hi everyone Smile hope you're all well today. Im 38+6 and I've had a really strange pain, almost like cramp but not quite, in my left hip last night for 1.5 hours followed by quite a few braxton hicks which I never usually get. I went for a bath before bed and felt fine but this morning I've woken with that warm crampy feeling all down my legs as if I'm going to get a period. Anyone else had this? I feel totally on edge now constantly thinking omg is it happening because my childcare has to travel 2 hours to get here! I also have no idea what early labour is like because I've never went into labour naturally before lol
