Sorry - sausage fingers accidentally pressed post

28, 32, 34, 37 (fell a week behind because it clashed with another appt).
I'm booked for an ELCS at 39 weeks so she said i won't see her again now. So I won't see anyone else face to face from 37 weeks until I go in for my section at 39 weeks!
Even the pre-op is done over the phone.

Hertsmama9 · 25/07/2020 09:47

Thank you lovely ladies for your responses! I guess it should be every 2 weeks now but an extra week shouldn't hurt. I've dropped my midwife a message to double check just in case, but I'm low risk and no issues so I'm not going to worry too much.

Nellie3 · 25/07/2020 10:50

@Squishy88 exciting! Sounds like you are doing all the right things :) how far along are you now? I'm 38 weeks and having a girl. I had the worst cramps I've had so far last night, but
actually slept quite well and they are gone! Its just the on off that's frustrating, I must be driving my partner mad haha.

@Camia that's good news, hopefully you will be able to avoid induction as you want to and you will meet your baby soon, but if it does get to that I've heard loads of positive induction stories. You can Google it and find some to read if you think that could help.

@Hertsmama9 I ended up having 3 weeks between my 34-36 week appointment so had the 36 week one at 37 weeks of that makes sense, it was just because they couldn't fit me in but I was a bit annoyed. So now my next appt is 39 weeks, I wonder if they will book me in for a 40 week one and not make me wait til 41 weeks, surely they will as it sounds like the 40 week appt is important to discuss sweeps etc xxx

heroineinahalfshell · 25/07/2020 11:27

@Hertsmama9 there should be a page in your green book that tells you the weeks of your appointments. Mine have been like others here - 16, 20, 25 (on phone), 28, 32, 36, 38 & 40.

Anyone else's little ones starting to go mad in the bump? I'm 37w today and since last night she's been constantly shifting position from one side of my bump to the other and lots of very strong kicks. It's lovely but also very uncomfortable! DH keeps joking that she wants to bust out.

ml01omm · 25/07/2020 11:33

Hi Ladies

Is anyone else feeling like they can't possibly make it to 40 weeks?

I am 37+2, as per midwife the baby is head down and at 3/5 engaged. Bump has dropped, so I am feeling the pressure very much near my pelvis whenever I walk. He is measuring on the large side over 90% ( and I am very very short so not helping).

I know it sounds daft, but I can't think how I can get any bigger, bulkier or feel any more uncomfy than I do right now. Genuinely not sure how I can last another 3 weeks, let alone potentially another 5?

kaxxz · 25/07/2020 11:47

Had to pop into triage at 4am today, had a "bloody show" and babies movements weren't regular. I've been having contractions ever since. Midwife said all is good and I just need to wait for the contractions to be move frequent.

Camia · 25/07/2020 12:13

Thanks everyone. Had irregular cramping/light contractions for quite a while last night, much longer than I ever have before but was exhausted so figured I would get some sleep while I could in case things were about to get going, but only got about 3 hours and woke up to nothing 🙄 it's only 5am here now but can't sleep anymore so going to take the opportunity to do some walking and hope contractions come back.

@heroineinahalfshell That's exactly what mine's been doing for a few weeks now! I can tell he doesn't have the room to move around as much as he tries to but he likes to kind of rock himself from one side to the other, you can even see the whole bump of his body move when he does. Looks like an alien about to burst out of me 😂 he also does what I've been calling his swimming because he'll kick his feet so it feels like that's exactly what he's doing. OH says he's trying to swim out

trinajade · 25/07/2020 14:12

How we all doing ladies?
I've seen a lot of people say how nipple stimulation helps start labour so thought I'd give it a go through curiosity and it actually causes contractions whilst doing it 😳

Oldestchild90s · 25/07/2020 16:40

@trinajade I heard about that, the thing that scared me is that it can stress the baby out so i thought i had better not 🙈

trinajade · 25/07/2020 17:03

@Oldestchild90s it was actually my midwife that suggested it to me so hopefully it's safe 🤞
The contractions stopped when I stopped but I couldn't believe it actually worked to start with 😳

Oldestchild90s · 25/07/2020 17:34

@trinajade omg i know, would have frightened me to death i thought it was more of a myth to be honest 😂🙈 Glad they stopped!!!

WeeScottishWife · 25/07/2020 17:52

@heroineinahalfshell I feel like mine is moving from one side to the other overnight much more than I've noticed it before. Maybe that's just arms/legs feeling more prominent now, but before, she'd stayed in the same position for my last 3 midwife appointments and now when I wake up in the morning I can't tell where she is.

@ml01omm I reached that stage of wondering how I could possibly get bigger at around the same time as you. I'm now 39+1, she's still not here, and the side of my bump is aching through the day as well as being super uncomfy at night Sad I know she'll get here when she's good & ready, and will be healthy for it, but it's a bit frustrating & sometimes I get a bit tear-y with feeling overwhelmed by everything.

@trinajade my husband LOVES that this is supposedly a way to kick things off Blush 🤦🏻‍♀️ He's all "let me help encourage her to come out"!

Oldestchild90s · 25/07/2020 17:56

@WeeScottishWife how does he feel about the perineal massage? 🤔😂

WeeScottishWife · 25/07/2020 18:12

@Oldestchild90s I am carefully not discussing that one with him! 😂

NamiSwan · 25/07/2020 18:52

39+2 here, not the slightest sign baby will arrive any time soon. Jealous of those of you with cramping even if long latent stage, as I just have no signs at all. Feels like baby will never arrive 😑

Haven't seen midwife since my 36 week appointment (would have normally had one at 38 weeks but they have changed the schedule in my area since covid, so next appointment is at 40 weeks, which is a 4 week gap! I was a little taken aback by that tbh). Midwife said to me at last appointment that she might not see me again before labour.... I said it then and I say it again but my money is definitely on me making it to 40 weeks and beyond 😔

Definitely fed up of being pregnant now. Though for those of you wondering how you could potentially go over given how big/uncomfortable you feel- in my last pregnancy I went 9 days over. 9 days! It was frigging awful. I was just massive for weeks (it was my second so got big quickly) and couldn't see how I could go on but the pregnancy Just. Kept. On. Going.. This time I have resigned myself to going overdue. Just really really don't want to be pressurised to be induced. I'm hoping for a home birth (again) so to go from that to being induced would be hard to accept.

Been eating dates every day for the last couple of weeks, taking raspberry leaf capsules since 34 weeks, and having regular sex with DH, all in an attempt to hurry things along but no joy yet. Havent tried nipple stimulation yet but might have to give it a go - how long do you do it for? I can't work out whether I should be tweaking or rubbing or what 😅

trinajade · 26/07/2020 05:06

@WeeScottishWife I can imagine! 😂 Although you have to do it for like an hour 3 times a day so maybe best doing it yourself?😂

@namiswan I would probably try with you being so far on! They say to use a thumb and forefinger and make sure you get the outer nipple because something to do with the babies latch. They said keep alternating between each nipple every 15 minutes for up to an hour 3 times a day. It definitely works because it made me contract whilst doing it and I also lost a couple of bits of my plug later on which hasn't happened yet. I've been up since 4am too with stomach ache so not sure what I've done 🙈😂

watermelonsugar99 · 26/07/2020 15:11

Has anyone else's sickness been coming back recently? Since I had a show on Monday I've been nauseous all day & vomiting at least a few times a day. Granted I have had HG all throughout the pregnancy but it had pretty much stopped by 30 weeks, now 38+1 it's hit me like a truck again within hours of me having a show, not sure if I'm overthinking it and it's not related at all or if it is?

Nellie3 · 26/07/2020 16:17

@watermelonsugar99 you poor thing being sick :( I'm also 38+1! I'm feeling ROUGH today, nauseous, knackered and no appetite (better when I start eating though). I haven't actually been sick, but I wasn't in the first trimester either, just nauseous, so yes it does feel similar to first trimester in that way.

I've got lower back/stomach pain too, no cramps today or yesterday though but I was having them the days before that. I wish we could know the days they're planning to make their entrances 😅 xxx

watermelonsugar99 · 26/07/2020 16:33

@Nellie3 it's absolutely awful constantly feeling like this! I feel like all I've done is moan to my partner but I've never felt so horrific in my life!! I agree with it feeling like the first trimester all over again, I've had headaches, cramps, sickness, nausea& really bad mood swings since Monday! I cried yesterday because the water wasn't cold enough out the tapConfused😂

It would be lovely to be notified on when he's actually coming so I can stop thinking this is it every time I feel cramp coming on.. Hoping you start to feel better soon! Xxx

Squishy88 · 26/07/2020 19:05

@Nellie3 Lots of girls being born in August, so.it seems anyways. 39 weeks + 1 today. Yeah the on and off are what's annoying me the most and when they get intense I get excited and then when they stop I'm disappointed even though I'm absolutely bricking it haha. I feel like she's going to burst out of my belly today and my OH has said my belly button has gone all weird and the backache is horrific today but no cramps as of yet. So still here and pregnant haha 😄 🙃. She will be here when she's ready or when she can be bothered. Haha. Xxx

@Sel2223 Yes, lots of babies due on here soon. Watch this space haha xxx

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend. ❤💜❤💜

sezzywoowoo21 · 27/07/2020 12:23

39 weeks today feel fat swollen and so fed up getting first sweep on Thursday so my fingers are crossed it works really don't wanna be induced 😫....anyone else really had enough xxx hope everyone's well

Lucky08 · 27/07/2020 12:40

Yup I'm 37 weeks and fed up. I constantly need a wee, have bad reflux, get nerve pain at bottom of bump and then got the most horrendous pain above my bump last night (called triage and they said it was muscular) my head is telling me I can still do things but my body is telling me I cant. The worst of it is waiting for the unexpected. I wish i had a crystal ball that told me what date the baby will come and how the labour will start.

WeeScottishWife · 27/07/2020 13:47

39+4, definitely fed up! I'm hoping to be able to let her come along in her own time, but I'm super impatient now - feeling very 'groundhog day'.

kersh33 · 27/07/2020 14:17

Question for all you lovely ladies. At my last scan, I got told that my baby was hitting her curves but would be a small baby (just over 6lbs).

I've seen that most 0-6 months sleeping bags recommend to be used only from 8lb13. For any of you with smaller babies, what have you used or are planning to use while your baby grows enough for a sleeping bag?

NamiSwan · 27/07/2020 15:36

@WeeScottishWife snap! I'm also 39+4 here and fed up. Feel like I'm just wishing away every day/counting down the hours. So bored of being pregnant now...

Having a sweep on Thursday at my 40 week midwife appointment, hoping that gets things moving but I'm expecting to go over. My due date was moved back 4 days at my dating scan, so I keep having to tell myself that I originally was less further along, so not to expect anything anytime soon, but it's still frustrating 😒
