Hi!
I very recently got my positive result after a FET. (This is my second child. First one conceived through a fresh cycle). Just wondered anyone in a similar position wanted to join, and help keep us calm until scan day!

I am only 4+2 weeks. Still so, so early. Can’t wait for my 7 week scan!

@BlueJayTO glad scan went well and it you more at ease!

@Viletta wow 39 weeks that’s so so close now. How are you feeling?

Viletta · 26/09/2020 15:47

@thefishthatcouldwish I've been lucky to have a very easy pregnancy, so far feeling good, baby measures normal size. I'm planning to have a home birth and dreading being induced and end up in the hospital with assisted delivery. Trying to stay open minded though, whatever is best for the baby. I found the time goes much quicker after 20w after you start feeling baby kicking. This is when I stopped counting days and started counting weeks. Early on I liked following embryo development stages day by day.

thefishthatcouldwish · 27/09/2020 17:36

@Viletta am so glad your pregnancy has been so good. Fingered crossed for your home birth. So close now!

Me I’m going day by day hoping the reassurance scan will be ok.

Welcome to the new members

@Viletta
I remember you from previous threads although I've changed my name a few times since then! Can't believe you are 39 weeks already!

Anyone starting to feel movement yet? Both my twins placentas are anterior so making feeling anything difficult. Thursday they both seemed really busy but last few days been really quiet.
My bump is so sore too. Walked DD to park on Saturday and walking has been so painful since!

Viletta · 28/09/2020 12:06

@ivfbeenbusy love you new name! Clever! Good luck with the pregnancy hope everything goes smooth! Exciting times!

nextweek · 28/09/2020 13:00

Hi, hope it's ok to jump on this thread. I've recently had my first round of IVF and got a BFP! It's my 7 week scan tomorrow and I'm feeling so anxious. I've not really had any pregnancy symptoms, had sore breasts a couple of weeks ago but it went away after a few days. I've had some aches/cramps and twinges on and off but no bleeding or spotting. I'm so worried that we'll get bad news tomorrow, but seeing the positive stories on this board is a big help :-)

Ro198 · 28/09/2020 14:14

Congratulations @nextweek! Good luck for your scan tomorrow. I’m sure everything will be fine. I always worry and think of the worst before scans too!

nextweek · 28/09/2020 15:41

Thank you @Ro198 I'm terrible for catastrophising at the best of times so I'm 100% worse with this!

ivfbeenbusy · 01/10/2020 15:57

@nextweek

How did you get on with your scan?

How is everyone else? I've still got a week to go before my 20 week scan and feeling a bit anxious 😥

My entire pelvis and hips are so sore now that practically in bed/sofa rest

Lady at the supermarket said today I looked "ready to drop" and must be due soon.....nope still about 20 weeks to go! 🤣

nextweek · 01/10/2020 19:38

@ivfbeenbusy Unfortunately our scan didn't go as hoped. They could see the pregnancy sac but there was nothing in it. They said to stop taking the progesterone and they'd refer me to the epu to manage my treatment from there. However, they then called me to say they wanted me to keeping taking the progesterone for another two weeks and come back for another scan to be 100% sure nothing has developed. Its left me feeling quite frustrated as I'm sure if it was going to develop it would have by now, so kind of in a weird limbo for now and don't really understand their reasoning behind it

Thats great that you're almost at 20 weeks, but understand why you'd still feel anxious for each scan. I hope your pelvis and hip pain isn't too bad and you manage to get plenty of rest.

ivfbeenbusy · 01/10/2020 19:48

@nextweek

I'm sorry it wasn't good news at your scan - the not knowing is definitely the worst xx

nextweek · 01/10/2020 20:02

@ivfbeenbusy thank you, I'm fully prepared to be told at the next scan that its not a viable pregnancy but we're looking on the positive side, it was our first round of IVF so at least we did get a positive pregnancy test even if it hasn't worked out. We're getting treatment on the NHS and very lucky to get 3 rounds so hopefully next time will be better Smile Its very reassuring to see other people having success.

Viletta · 03/10/2020 00:01

@nextweek sorry to hear that your scan left you in limbo. It's great that you have options for plan b in case of bad news, always having a plan b helped me through my IVF cycles so much. The fact that you got the implantation is already a huge relief it may be that there were errors when embryo's cell divided that can happen in any pregnancy and it's a nature's way to stop the process if such errors occur. Hopefully not though it may still work maybe he implanted late. Fingers crossed!

Viletta · 03/10/2020 00:09

@ivfbeenbusy my due date is tomorrow, so far no signs of labour. At my 20w scan they talked to me about induction to ensure I don't go overdue as they know the exact date more or less. Since then I did lots of research and decided to refuse induction and wait for him to come out naturally unless of course there is a medical reason. In this case they'll be monitoring me a couple of days a week to ensure everything's in mint condition. I'm not lobbying my decision this is just something I feel comfortable with, but you may or may not have a consultation on this too at some point.

I found my anxiety gradually went down after 20w scan, so hopefully you'll soon get to that point too. Feeling baby moving is very reassuring, I started feeling kicks after 20w scan. I used to work in an obs/gyn department after uni (I'm not a doctor or a nurse) and we followed lots of pregnancies including IVF (we had IVF clinic there as well) and I never saw anything serious happening at 20w scan. In very rare cases when they see something concerning it cleared on its own in the next scan.

Fightingtobepositive · 04/10/2020 17:46

Hi all. A bit about me. I am 2 weeks past transfer. I was admitted to hospital with ohss on Wednesday and since being here found out I have covid. My test day was yesterday (still in hospital) and my bloods yesterday confirmed I was pregnant right now 🤞🤞🤞

Just looking for some support as I’m freaking out for obvious reasons regarding covid and all day today I have been have Low down cramping on my right side. Has anyone else experienced cramping? I’m so scared. After everything we are going through I can’t express how much we want our little trooper of an embaby to stick

Ro198 · 04/10/2020 18:33

@Fightingtobepositive congratulations, hope you get better soon. I had to go to hospital 2 weeks post transfer due to ohss and had bad cramping and pain for quite a long time. Try not to worry as it does ease up slowly. I think it’s just from all the swelling. They gave me extra scans, I think at around 3-4 weeks post transfer, to confirm the pregnancy was viable.

Sparkly101 · 04/10/2020 19:27

Hi @Fightingtobepositive, just wanted to say I had a lot of cramping after my BFP and am now 14 weeks pregnant. I rang my clinic about it and got told it was normal unless it was really severe. Sorry about your OHSS, I had it quite mildly and it was horrible. I hope you're able to go home soon and the covid is a mild case.

I had better news at my second scan with the feral medicine consultant, when they look at estimated weight rather than just length, the twin discordance is under 3% so they are hoping the measurements they got before were just due to position.

@Viletta how exciting you are almost there. Fingers crossed you start labour soon. Induction doesn't sound fun.

Fightingtobepositive · 04/10/2020 20:12

Thank you so much ladies. That has reassured me a little. What a time. We go through all the worry to get to the moment and the. Carry on worrying over everything new that comes along. What a journey 🤞🤞🤞

Ijustlikefood · 05/10/2020 19:01

Just thought I would give you an update, went for another scan this weekend and everything all ok, my NHS scan is in just over 2 weeks,

Feeling a little more relaxed now but that will probably only last a day or two, then will be back to being anxious about the 12 week scan !

Parkandride · 05/10/2020 19:58

Ahh @Viletta I think I remember you from an ivf thread during my first transfer, so exciting you'll get to meet your little one soon. Glad to here some of the anxiety drops off as you progress.

Gosh @Fightingtobepositive you poor thing, that is a lot to deal with. I had plenty of cramping including on one side and it eventually dropped off. Obviously flag it if the one sided pain is becoming concerning

1 weeks until my 12 week scan. Getting nervous now. Last week of injections though! DH said he'd miss the routine, I definitely will not! Getting some round ligament pain I think

Glad twins are looking good @sparkly101, you stay on that sofa @ivfbeenbusy!

Fightingtobepositive · 06/10/2020 07:03

@Parkandride thank you. Wow 12 weeks soon that’s amazing. Have a great scan

My bad news just doesn’t seem to be ending. So the doctor scanned for me in hosp checking on the fluid and couldn’t find a sac I’m 4weeks and 6 days apparantly, a 5day embryo transfer was 2 weeks ago on Sunday just gone. So it is the right time to be seeing something isn’t it?

They literally told me to book an apt with my clinic ASAP (which I can’t because of covid) and sent me home. Any experiences that can shed some light for me ladies? I’m having such a tough time and now just feel as if my world has ended befor emi even had chance to actually poas x

cake1987 · 06/10/2020 10:37

Hi everyone, I hope it's ok to join the group.
I'm a bit confused about when to book in scans. the fertility clinic that I'm with have booked me in for a 7 week scan. But do I also need to contact my gp to book in a 12 week one? Or do I wait until after the 7 week scan to book it in? xxx

@Fightingtobepositive I'm so sorry about your scan. I really hope you get some better news soon. Keeping everything crossed for you xxx

ivfbeenbusy · 06/10/2020 12:00

@cake1987

Welcome! You should do a referral to the local midwife team - usually you bring your GP and they'll give you the contact info and then you have a midwife booking appointment about 8 weeks. They will do the referral for the 12 week scan and you'll get a letter in the post

@Fightingtobepositive
I'm just trying to work out how many days post transfer you are? If your transfer was only 2 weeks ago I'd put you around 16dp5dt? Did they do a blood test for your hcg levels?

Fightingtobepositive · 06/10/2020 12:55

Thanks @cake1987

@ivfbeenbusy I’m 16dp5dt so yesterday 15dp5dt. They said the hcg were fine and rising daily. It was just the scan they were concerned about 🥺
What a week finished ivf ohss covid and now before even doing a test maybe finding out there’s something not right 🤦🏻‍♀️

cake1987 · 06/10/2020 16:15

Thanks @ivfbeenbusy xx
