Ok so I unfortunately had a chemical pregnancy (early miscarriage) last month and it really upset me even though I believe I was only 5 weeks it still really got to me:/

I've now found out a month later that I got a BFP again ! But now I'm just absolutely terrified it's going to happen again I obviously no the chances of miscarriage is at like 20% anyways but have you had the same thing happen and go on to having a healthy pregnancy after a chemical one? Please tell me your experiences and put my mind at ease x

@Mummy120494 aww thanks lovely. It may be my only pregnancy as OH has a son from a previous relationship (who is now 7) and it was enough persuading him to have one with me 😂 we shall see but in the meantime I plan to just enjoy every single second of this pregnancy and cherish it because I've been looking forward to this for so long.

Yes keep me updated with how you go to 🥰🥰🥰

I have a weeks test and a few cheapies left so yeah I imagine I will test again because it's an addiction that's tough to break 😂😂

Mummy120494 · 19/07/2020 10:17

@Bl0ndi3 how strange my partner also has a son from a previous relationship who is 6 lol 😂 didn't take much persuading him to have another though ! this one will probably force him to have a vasectomy saying that 😂😂 I always wanted two then I said I would stop so I'm going to try enjoy it as much as possible because it'll probably be the last time I'm pregnant ! I absolutely loved being pregnant with my son I had no symptoms though so that'll probably be why haha let's hope this time it's as easy as the first ! I'll end up testing again more than likely 😂 but yeah keep me posted! X

Hi I’ve just been reading through this thread and feel slightly relieved that others are feeling how I’m feeling. I had a missed MC In February picked up at first scan, I’m now just over 5 weeks pregnant again and absolutely bricking it. I cannot think about anything else - all I do is worry even though I know I have no control over anything. I’m tempted to book a private early scan but at the same time I’m absolutely terrified the same thing will happen again. Have any of you had a private scan at 8 weeks and would you recommend? It’s sad that it should be such a happy time but because of what happened before every day just drags and feels like about a month!

Mummy120494 · 21/07/2020 18:48

@Pippy20 hi there firstly congratulations on your pregnancy :) so many women feel like this especially if you've been unlucky enough to have had a miscarriage previously it definitely knocks your confidence! But it is also perfectly normal !

I Even felt like this when I was pregnant with my son constantly worrying about the worst but he turned out to be perfectly healthy with no problems during pregnancy .

Personally if it makes you feel better having an early scan then I'd say go for it , I had an Early scan at 6 weeks with my first only because I had slight bleeding and pain but turned out everything was fine I will warn you even after having that early scan I felt reassured for maybe a few days but the worries and paranoia creeps back so it's totally your choice but personally it made no difference in the end for me I was still
Just as worried even after seeing a healthy heart beat haha

Ino exactly how you feel and this is only the beginning it's definitely one heck of a roller coaster ride but it's worth every loop and drop ! More pregnancies result in a baby then no baby if you get me the chances of miscarriage are lower than actually having the baby . I would say at 8 weeks your chances of miscarriage have dropped dramatically but like i said it's totally up to you what you do !

But good luck with everything try not to over worry you'll drive yourself mad stop googling everything and just try chill out ! Trust me😂x

Thank you so much @Mummy120494 that is EXACTLY what I needed to read lol. I just can’t believe this might end in an actual human baby 😂. I really need to chill out but it’s so hard 🥴.

I think I probably will go for the scan I just need to keep thinking positive thoughts and remind myself this is a new pregnancy.

I feel like shite this time round so hoping that’s a good sign! X

EmilyG2020 · 21/07/2020 20:34

@Pippy20 I also had a miscarriage in February and am 5 weeks pregnant with my second now. I am trying my best to stay positive but sometimes negative thoughts do creep in

Pippy20 · 21/07/2020 21:57

@EmilyG2020 sorry to hear that, it’s really tough isn't it? I’m just trying to keep myself distracted and not get too ahead of myself. When I was pregnant before I spent 99% of the time day dreaming about how wonderful it would all be, now I spend approximately the same amount of time worrying and trying not to get my hopes up too high ☹️

Mummy120494 · 22/07/2020 09:42

@Pippy20 that's ok I wish I had someone telling me the same things the first time around so it's nice to try reassure others who felt or feel the same !

Don't get me wrong I'm still worrying about this pregnancy but I'm trying not to google as much because what will be will be and unfortunately if something was to happen you can't stop it !

Yeah I mean like I said if you feel that getting that scan will give you the reassurance you need then go for it ! It is definitely nice to see that little heart beat for the first time !

Keep the faith everything will be ok :)

@EmilyG2020 congratulations on your pregnancy ! It is hard and it's also perfectly normal the way your feeling stay positive and what will be will be ! But chances are everything will turn out just fine ! :) x

I spiralled this morning after taking a CBD and it's still only showing 1-2 weeks and after googling it obsessively I've decided to ignore it, it's not an exact science and I can't be certain of when I ovulated or implanted and that all plays a part so 🤞🏻 relaxing about it and will just see what happens!

EmilyG2020 · 22/07/2020 10:18

@Mummy120494
Thank you for your words.
I woke up this morning feeling calmer and positive 🤞🏻 I've got my first midwife appointment on 11th August and then hopefully they will refer me for an early scan.

Mummy120494 · 22/07/2020 10:32

@Bl0ndi3 hi love how far gone do you think you are exactly ? I also took a CBD yesterday and it showed 2-3 I believe I'm 4 weeks 5 days today ! Maybe your just earlier than you think you are ! Wouldn't worry about it at all take another CBD in a week and go from there ! But everything is probably fine !

@EmilyG2020 not a problem ! I hope everything goes well for you best of luck in your pregnancy :) x

OP posts:
Bl0ndi3 · 22/07/2020 10:39

@Mummy120494 I'm 5 weeks from LMP but about 2+3/4 from ovulation so I think technically I should be showing at 2-3 weeks now but it's only showing 1-2 weeks but from what I've read those weeks indicators can be wrong but they can also be a sign that you're not progressing but I'm choosing to believe that it's just not as accurate as I'd like it to be!

Will take another in a week and see!

Mummy120494 · 22/07/2020 10:52

@Bl0ndi3 technically yeah but everyone's HCG is different and i honestly wouldn't over think it ! Can all depend how diluted your wee is there's many things that can effect the tests! But yes definitely test again In a week ! Have you taken any other tests has the line gotten darker ? X

OP posts:
Bl0ndi3 · 22/07/2020 10:56

@Mummy120494 I have been doing ICs here and there and getting strong lines so not been particularly worried until this CBD. I took a IC last night randomly with my 100000Th wee of the day and about an hour max after my last wee and got a strong line which I took as a good sign that I got a line with diluted urine haha

Mummy120494 · 22/07/2020 11:24

@Bl0ndi3 yeah I was ready that Clearblue tests are only like 93% accurate on the weeks indicator I think you need to stop testing hun ! I took that CB yesterday but I'm stopping now what will be will be ! If you really can't wait try get in for an early scan to give you that reassurance x

OP posts:
Bl0ndi3 · 22/07/2020 11:27

@Mummy120494 we are going to get a private scan around 10 weeks as it's my 30th before my 12 week scan so I want to have a scan to know everything's okay and tell people by my birthday. I don't fancy an earlier scan than that because it's not reassuring at 6weeks etc because you still hear stories of seeing a heartbeat and then weeks later they have a MC and that's worse in my head of getting that reassurance and then it all going wrong. I wanna wait as long as possible so I think 10 weeks I'll have my first scan 🥰

Pippy20 · 22/07/2020 11:51

@Bl0ndi3 I agree, I had my first midwife appt yesterday and she said she would recommend a private scan from a minimum of 8 weeks onwards as you’ll see a little shape and heartbeat at that point but any early you may not and thar can then cause more worry! For me I would rather get reassurance early on. With my missed mc baby had stopped growing at 7 weeks which was such a distressing thing to find out, knowing they I had been walking about for the next 4 + weeks thinking all was well as I had absolutely no signs anything was wrong ☹️ for me I couldn’t bare to go through that again - I’d rather know sooner so I can deal with it there and then. Or if all is good worry slightly less for the next 4 weeks - as things can and do still go wrong sadly. But we are all different and I think pregnancy after loss is very different too. Just got to do what’s right for you and what you are happy with. That would be such a lovely 30th birthday treat! X

Mummy120494 · 22/07/2020 13:37

Yeah I mean like I say it's up
To you hun , I had a scan with my first at what I thought to be 6 weeks but was only measuring 5 1/2 weeks but still saw a little heart beat! I was reassured for a few days and went straight back to being paranoid and worried so it really makes no difference ! I'll
Be completely honest the full of the pregnancy is a worry and that worry only gets worse when there born atleast you know there as safe as they can be in your tummy haha 😂 once there out that's when the real worry begins 😂😅 your going to be mums and that world basically stands for worry about everything 😂 x

Pippy20 · 22/07/2020 14:16

@Mummy120494 haha I really really hope so!! 😂 x

Mummy120494 · 22/07/2020 14:57

@Pippy20 you will be you've already proved you can get pregnant and some people struggle to even do that so don't worry x

OP posts:
Mummy120494 · 24/07/2020 13:43

@Bl0ndi3 hi hope your well just wondering how your doing have you held off the testing? I did two tests today with different tests just too see if the line was darker and I'm pretty happy with results so I'm really going to try not to test now! Haha I say this.. 🙈😂 let me no how you are!! X

Please will someone reassure me!
OP posts:
Bl0ndi3 · 24/07/2020 14:39

@Mummy120494

I've ran out of tests so I haven't taken any since my weeks one and I've not used my 2nd one of those just yet.

I'll probably use that one next week but your SUPER DARK lines have made me wanna get some more tests and get those lines too haha cause you can't not be reassured by them can you! Xxx

Mummy120494 · 24/07/2020 15:08

@Bl0ndi3 yes I hadn't tested for a good few days and caved today and went out and bought some pound ones lol 😂
Also used my digital one this morning which still read 2-3 which is spot on tbh I should of waited a few more days for that one lol but just so eager to know everything is ok !

Yeahh why not get yourself some just to have a look it's definitely made me feel better about not testing anymore anyways ! I'll maybe do one more digital in a week hopfully it'll say 3+ then I'm just gonna stop and wait until my scan ! Lol x

OP posts:
Mummy120494 · 28/07/2020 13:43

@Bl0ndi3 hi love how are you doing ! Have you taken anymore tests yet or have you managed to hold out! Took a digital today which read 3+ so im definitely going to stop with the testing now lol let me no how your doing ? X

Please will someone reassure me!
OP posts:
Bl0ndi3 · 28/07/2020 14:38

@Mummy120494 I'm done with those weeks test because all they do is freak me out they still say 1-2 weeks because I wee so much in the night. I don't want to rely on that stupid test to validate my pregnancy as I'm still getting strong lines and there's lots of evidence those weeks tests are really poor accuracy - somebody got 1-2 and 2-3 with same urine sample haha x
