Okay I'm still super nervous but time to take the plunge and started a Grad bus for the recent BFPs from the main thread. According to NHS calculator I'm due 18th March and it's #1 for me 😬

@Amy00 think you should be able to hear it depending on the machine used (mine was transvaginal and EPU said they use a diff machine- so no print out either) I was shown it though pumping away- 150BPM.

I think if you're clever they don't cost very much- could also ask for bits from friends/family to keep costs down - I think il buy some second hand bits if I find things are getting tight to to keep costs down too- but i know it will be spoiled by all the grandparents and siblings x

2020mission · 11/08/2020 16:52

@Amy00 @Mococo1 thanks ladies. I know no one can really tell me for definite what's going on and it's just something I'll have to wait out. I don't think it would have worried me much if I hadn't had a chemical before. I'll just keep and eye on it over the next day or so and maybe take another test for peace of mind tomorrow or Thursday morning. I'm supposed to tell family on Friday 😬 want to be sure it's still there before sharing!

blodyn91 · 11/08/2020 17:13

@Amy00 glad you asked how much they cost as I feel I should know this before ttc but have zero clue 🙈
Also the babygrow I've bought has blue sheep on it- I never thought its for a boy 🙈🙈 just thought the sheep look cute. So Ill be dressing a girls in all colours, might avoid pink if its a boy though 😅
@Noble89 Names we've though of is Seren/ Eira for a girl (welsh for star/snow- I know sound weird in English), then Idris for a boy so far, Thomas as a middle name after OH dad. Also thought of Aeron. Still looking though.

Mococo1 · 11/08/2020 17:26

@blodyn91 lovely names! They Sound fine in English🥰 xx

blodyn91 · 11/08/2020 18:18

@Mococo1 When I say Snow I think of Jon Snow 🙈
This was on my 'what to expect' app today
Definitely no need to be pregnant virgins.

Amy00 · 11/08/2020 18:32

@blodyn91 who blows air up a vagina!!!! 😂😂

blodyn91 · 11/08/2020 18:37

@Amy00 Is that what a female blow job is? 🤣🤣

Ltay2 · 11/08/2020 18:52

@blodyn91 @Amy00 I saw that article today too, definitely wondered the same about the 'blowing air up vagina' thing - do people do that?! 😂

Mococo1 · 11/08/2020 19:13

@Ltay2 @blodyn91 @Amy00 I'm laughing just told DH and he said satcastically awh damn was really thinking to try something new like blow air up you when going down 🤣 that really made me chuckle xx

Ltay2 · 11/08/2020 19:14

Done another test tonight just to reassure me until I do my final CB at the weekend. I think my line progression is looking good 🙌🏼

Madz123 · 11/08/2020 19:19

@2020mission I had spotting/bleeding with my son early on. Sounds like the same kinda spotting as you've had. I spoke to my gp and they booked an early scan for me and everything was fine. Hopefully it's the same for you! It's totally terrifying seeing any kind of blood isn't it 😕

blodyn91 · 11/08/2020 19:22

@Ltay2 🙌 I don't think it can go much darker than that!
I have one CB to take on Friday am. If I think im 5 weeks guessing it will show as 3+

Ltay2 · 11/08/2020 19:28

@blodyn91 True, I think I'm done with the IC tests now! My CB on Saturday showed as 2-3 weeks and I was 4+6 so yours would hopefully show 3+ weeks by 5 weeks! I'm hoping I will get 3+ weeks at the weekend when I next use my CB as I'll be 5+6 by Saturday 🤞🏼

Amy00 · 11/08/2020 19:41

@blodyn91 @Ltay2 I took my digital at 5+1 and it said 2-3 weeks and I'm totally sure that's within the normal range. Just to warn you if it shows 2-3 and you're expecting 3+ don't freak out!

Mococo1 · 11/08/2020 20:21

@Ltay2 lovely lines! 😍😍 I don't think they will won't get any darker than that and depending on the test dye the line may fluctuate between the two bottom ones- so please don't get worried if you take anymore

Just to reassure you when taking your CB- I posted this earlier but the threshold is 2173ml and HCG levels vary greatly - you could go upto nearly 7 weeks without getting 3+ on CB xx

@Mococo1 yeah I moan about my poor mum a lot but I know she'll come in handy when baby is around so I try and focus on her positives rather than her sometimes insensitive comments 🙈

@zippityzip hope MW and scan went well today 🥰

@Eloise27 hi 👋 and yes I have now told 2 people and to both of them ive kinda said I'm happy but just not getting too excited until 12weeks, that may sound negative to some but for me it's just self-preservation x

@Amy00 I went to see my friend this evening who is on mat leave but normally works in HR and she was saying I should tell my boss and tell her how uncomfortable I am getting the underground to work so that I could potentially work from home, I just feel super cheeky but I shouldn't as I'm just looking after myself 🤷🏾‍♀️ I think I'll go pretty gender neutral but no boys in dresses (not that there is anything wrong with that) at newborn stage I feel like everything is white anyway 😂 also i could be wrong but I don't think you can hear a heartbeat until about 10weeks but you can see it flickering away on screen ☺️

@2020mission yeah definitely do a test if it'll make you feel better but maybe wait until Thursday/ Friday so you can see the progression and not panic x

@blodyn91 no blow jobs for us 😂 I'm not a pregnancy virgin but in this heat it was probably more likely OH would just be blowing on me down there than anything else 😂

@Ltay2 yep lines look like they have maxed out on the IC, now the fun of waiting begins...

OP posts:
2020mission · 11/08/2020 21:52

@SmileyT yeah you're right, I'm going to try and hold off until Friday morning. I'm not planning to tell family until Friday so I think I'm best to just wait until then and if all is well the FRER should be stronger by then. A test a day or so earlier won't change anything anyway. I can see this being a long 3 months if all is ok, since I'm worrying so much already 😅

mrsmummy1111 · 11/08/2020 21:54

@blodyn91 IS THAT A THING???? AM I MISSING OUT????

@zippityzip hope everything went ok today 😊😊

Ltay2 · 11/08/2020 21:57

Feel like I'm being overly paranoid tonight 🙈 I ate one tiny strand of cooked mince to see if it tasted off, it smelled a bit weird but was in date so was wondering if it was me being oversensitive so cooked it anyway to see what I thought afterwards. Was still unsure so decided to leave it and let OH check when home. He came home and said it stank so we've thrown it away (realised the fridge is broken hence gone off early 🙄) but now I'm worrying I've somehow poisoned myself off one teeny strand of mince no more than 1cm in length 😂 I've got cramps tonight but that's nothing new I've had them every day. Maybe I should go to sleep and start again tomorrow clearly my brain is not functioning well today 🤦🏼‍♀️

Cocoblue22 · 11/08/2020 22:03

Had a busy few days with DS so just having a big catch up👀....hope everyone is good....

@SmileyT that's great that your last month at work will be less stressful a nice way to wind down before you finish. Thank you for asking I am feeling better today. I should also put no more than 25lb on tops (put 38lb on with ds 😬) x

@2020mission try not to stress I'm sure everything is fine I do think some tests have more dye than others and appear darker anyway x

@Amy00 yeah I'd definitely stay working from home for as long as you can. I've started venturing out in the real world more tho going to shops and restaurants etc but it does worry me a little but I see it as I'll be back at work in a few weeks so need to try and get some normality back. Also on the headache front I swear I've had head ache every day since finding out not awful but like a dull ache that's always there in the background and I have spots on my face when I'm not usually spotty. Great news on your 2-3 CB 🎉 x

@mrsmummy1111 I love your advice and positivity I think your right that sometimes the internet can be a scary place when you read about things that you didn't previously know about I think I've worried a lot more this time than I did when I was pregnant with ds I stopped testing after a couple of positives then just waited until my 12 week scan and hoped everything was good which it was this time I've deffo worried a lot more x

@Noble89 that outfit 😍 so cute! Where's it from? X

@zippityzip no you can't have a smear when pregnant you need to tell them and then rebook it a few months after the birth. Mines due in a few months so I'll have to do the same. What date is your scan? X

@Skip86 your dinner sounded lovely but I also hope you did balance it with ice cream! X

@Mococo1 I couldn't bf withDS more him than me but I was gutted but actually formula was really easy and less restrictive and painful so this time I'm considering not even trying to bf I'm
Interested to know what it's like but it really doesn't matter as long as the baby is fed who cares how! Try not to put pressure on yourself and if you can great and if not then formula is just as good so don't worry x

Ladies I am in the short club too only 5'3 and currently a size 14 too I'm a stone and half heavier than I used to be before having kids but I did lose all my baby weight a year after DD but then during second year out some back on due to medication/holidays and lockdown hoping I can get back on it and lose it all after having this baby x

Up to yesterday evening....posting in case I lose the whole message I've typed then will carry on reading..... x

Cocoblue22 · 11/08/2020 23:08

@Ltay2 I've also been having a lot of cereal....this baby likes Cheerios and ice cold milk 🤣 x

@Noble89 I had two oranges and an apple for dinner last night I normally hate oranges but the baby seems to like them 🤣 will deffo give the smoothies a try! Made crumpets the other night and they tasted like I was eating cardboard 🤢 I normally love crumpets x

I haven't joined any Fb groups not sure I'd keep up with 100 people! X

@Skip86 awww congratulations on scan 🎉 so happy to hear everything is good with baba! Shame you can't see your pics for a few days they don't do that here or not that I've heard anyway! Bet you're over the moon. So will you know the sex of the baby in a weeks time? X

@SmileyT the fatigue definitely wears off by the end of first trimester and you'll feel great in the second trimester x

@zippityzip ignore your mother in law she sounds stupid to let your poor kiddos burn! Your DH should tell her off it's not fair on the kids to be burnt! Maybe next time smother them in factor 50 before they go just in case. I totally get your frustration though she should be apologising and should feel terrible she let them burn. I think @mrsmummy1111 put it perfectly 👌🏻 x

@Mococo1 pleasssseee don't feel bad. For one you are pregnant and two it's boiling hot you were probs bloated (I am sooo bloated right now) and as you say dress probs wasn't the best fit as a last min choice. If it makes you feel better I've just been to the shops and the shop assistant before leaving said 'good luck with everything' and pointed at my belly! I was like great 9 weeks and I must look about 20! I had just eaten a big dinner on top of bloat so I agree I don't look my finest at the moment but hey ho I am pregnant so who cares. I have hardly any clothes that fit and have already started wearing maternity the dress I wore today is a clingy maternity one which also makes me look more pregnant but I had no other summer clothes that fit and cba to wear tight uncomfortable waist bands in this heat. Try not to feel bad we will all be getting merrily fatter but it's worth it and you will lose it all and look amazing after you have the baby try not to take it to heart (pot and kettle I've taken loads to heart lately) I'm sure you look amazing! And if you're hungry please eat it's so not worth dieting right now I put on 38lb with my DS it took a good 10 months to lose it but I didn't really try for the first 6 months so it's totally doable I hope you feel better x

@Sausage1990 welcome and yay you're only a few weeks behind the more the merrier I say doesn't matter when you're due we can all be on a bus together. Looks like good line progression to me try to relax I'm sure all
Will be fine x

@Mococo1 lovely news on your scan 🎉 so pleased for you! So when will you have your next one? I hope you can relax a bit now? X

@Amy00 there isn't much in the way of neutral clothes around so I think I'll wait and buy the majority of stuff once I know the sex as there's more choice x

@blodyn91 I also had that article on my app a few weeks ago and thought the same about the air blowing 🤣 who does that?!? X

@Ltay2 good line progression! I'd say you're prob fine off eating a tiny bit worst case scenario you might have a bit of diarrhoea tomorrow so just stay well hydrated if you do or are sick but you will prob be fine x

I also have zero savings! Probably should work on that 🙄 wowzers that took me about 2hours to catch up!! X

Cocoblue22 · 11/08/2020 23:34

Sorry for my essays ladies!

Has anyone coloured their hair? Got gel/acrylic nails since BFP? I've held off dying my hair but today I got gel nails without even considering if the chemicals would be a problem now I'm worrying about it x

samilicious · 12/08/2020 00:16

@Mococo1 yesss so glad you got to have some nice time and feel better!
Also on that pic - what would the minimum threshold be for 3+ weeks? Sorry tried to figure it out but crap with numbers

@Amy00 I'm planning on getting mostly gender neutral stuff for when they're tiny, but not exclusively. Planning on having more babies so would be good to recycle some stuff. Seen some cool patterns and colours so don't feel too limited

Also want to find out the gender but not tell anyone, purely because if some daft family member buys loads of proper OTT girly/boyish clothing. Nothing against that, and I will get some, it's just that my mum bought me a black glitter tracksuit for Xmas so can only imagine what she'd pick up for a baby 😂 it's kind of amazing but also proper itchy

@blodyn91 thanks for the science 🤓 definitely good to know. Is there some kind of pan pipe lady oral technique we're not aware of? 😂 are we missing out?!

@Cocoblue22 I'm due to get my hair done in a few weeks. Read online that it's ok but if anything goes wrong I'll blame that so might just reschedule / skip an appt. Did my gel nails myself without thinking though 😅

zippityzip · 12/08/2020 06:16

Didn't even need an internal as my uterus is so high up apparently and the baby as implanted right at the front. He laughed and said that's why I'm showing early.

HB was perfect, just seeing that little flicker on the screen was amazing. He said it was all looking perfect in there, the sac etc. He even went 3D and showed me the placenta which was implanting and the baby just chilling out in all the space it was honestly amazing. Best private scan I've ever had.

The relief is amazing. It's all going ok in there. I think it was real for DH at that point (we made up - his mum is still a c*nt though).

Midwife was also incredible - she had all my notes and previous history ready so she's booked all my appointments up until November! I've got diabetes testing, additional scans, have to take aspirin every day now to prevent pre eclampsia, got an appt with the consultant at 16 weeks and midwife again at 22 weeks.

I wanted to hug her when I left but couldn't!! I am going to email the ward manager and just tell them how amazing they've been. Everyone is so quick to complain but she was really amazing.

@Cocoblue22 Colouring and nails are absolutely fine. As long as you're not licking anything or purposely trying to inhale it you've got nothing to worry about!
