Okay I'm still super nervous but time to take the plunge and started a Grad bus for the recent BFPs from the main thread. According to NHS calculator I'm due 18th March and it's #1 for me 😬

@Sausage1990 just saw you had attached your photo. Your line looks stronger than mines at 13 DPO 🙌 no sign of it getting lighter so no need to worry.

Sausage1990 · 11/08/2020 10:27

@blodyn91 @2020mission thanks both. You're right I must just let my body do its thing... Although I am relieved you can see some slight progress with the ic's @blodyn91** - I thought it was just my eyes.

@2020mission I'm feeling okay too, not really got any symptoms atm... I have been quite tired the last few days, like a but wiped out, and I've had a little bit of breast tenderness but it all comes and goes. I do have cramps on an off which I've made peace with and trying to focus on the fact that it's the little embryo making it's home and all the new blood flow (and not anything sinister). Haha so. A few symptoms but no nausea or sickness.

@blodyn91 gosh I hope you're maternity pay is different by now too 🤞🏻 I'm really lucky as I work in the NHS and the mat pay is really good. It's full pay for 6 months and half may for 3 months, you get no pay the last 3 months if you want to take a year BUT you can average it all out over the year so you get 12 months leave with some pay each month. I'm very lucky that I am also due a pay increment from April 2020 so I'm hoping that will reflect in my mat leave pay 🤞🏻you don't get alot of perks working for the NHS but good mat pay is a real bonus. Has anyone started a mat leave Savings pot?? X

Sausage1990 · 11/08/2020 10:31

@2020mission thank you for sharing your photos. Your progress looks good too. It's hard not to test & compare too much. But youre right, no bleeding and it's not getting lighter so I need to take a deep breath.
Thank you for talking me down girls 💕 honestly this journey is something else!! Xx

blodyn91 · 11/08/2020 11:03

@Sausage1990 I think Ill go back to work after 12 weeks. Can't afford not to for £151 a week! Might ask my line manager what we can do. Id happily work from home, answering my phone and emails. I won't be able to do farm visits late into pregnancy especially when its lambing due to the risks of toxoplasma. I'm hopefully due a pay rise in October, and the 90% also includes any bonuses so will try my best to get a good bonus in Feb/March. I was putting £500 a month away for the wedding, but reached my target so that then turned into house savings, now ill need to be baby pot or 1/2 house 1/2 baby 🙈

Mococo1 · 11/08/2020 11:24

@blodyn91 my mat pay is the same statutory 😭and I wouldn't qualify for actual mat pay (only 3.5months fully paid) until april next year but should have a little one by then🤣 finances will be tight but DH has assured me that's his problem now not mine😂

@2020mission I see some progression there - imagine if you hadn't taken the 13dpo test then there would be a lot of progression between 12-16dpo it's just because you did one inbetween!

@Sausage1990 IC are showing good progression there !

@2020mission @Sausage1990 just want to double check you are both using FMU and not going crazy on the water intake as that can affect results but having gone through EMCs I can understand being obsessed and testing everyday to see progression! (I've now used up all 25 of my ICs I'm shameful it's crazy)

@Sausage1990 we've taken a 3-6 month mortgage holiday for COVID despite both of us still working- the money we save from the mortgage will be our maternity savings pot!

Just wanted to let everyone know that there is a little bean in there ♥️ just had my scan and I'm measuring 7weeks exactly (I thought I was 7+3) but have been assured by the ultrasound lady it's good progression since my last scan two weeks ago and as I've fallen preg after a MC ovulation can be off a couple of days- I've just put in the calculator first day of my bleed and a 30day cycle and it's matching up perfectly x

Unfortunately they dont print out scans at EPU as the machine is so advanced but got a cheeky snap on my phone to show DH x

blodyn91 · 11/08/2020 11:35

@Mococo1 aa how exciting and so reassuring for you 💚 Yeah OH will have to work over time over winter I think, bless him

2020mission · 11/08/2020 11:39

@Mococo1 great news the scan went well 😃 must be so nice to see that!

I have always been using FMU and in a cup so I can see it's never looking diluted. I did have a pee during the night on the 16 DPO test morning, but the urine I used when I got up was still looking undiluted. I'll try again later this week as I have one FRER left.

Mococo1 · 11/08/2020 11:52

@2020mission yeh or maybe your urine just after FMU is more concentrated? Mine always was! but that may make a difference to the test in order for you to get a tad bit more reassurance♥️ as I know every little bit helps

Thank you ladies! It's been really lovely I've never made it to a scan with a heartbeat visible! Even the ultrasound technician was rooting for me as she had to go through my previous history, hoping my right ovary contains all the good eggs lol and this one continues to grow into a happy healthy bean ♥️♥️😭 I'm so happy right now lol

zippityzip · 11/08/2020 11:55

@Mococo1 I'm so pleased for you!!!! How exciting. Do you have another scan coming up soon?

Mine this evening, DH sort of coming back with his tail between his legs. Feels a bit late now though.

Mococo1 · 11/08/2020 12:07

@zippityzip EPU have discharged me now so il be booking two private ones inbetween just to be sure! Unless I get my 12week scan more towards the 11week mark then maybe just the one! X

samilicious · 11/08/2020 12:10

@blodyn91 hey neighbour! 👋🏻

@Mococo1 oh I'm so so sorry you're feeling so crap :( please don't punish yourself going crazy with dieting. It sounds like you have been through so much (emotionally and physically) the past few months, don't cause yourself more suffering as well. I would def be making those comments when I go round MLs, if only just to show that it had hurt your feelings.

Another plan: why don't you and your OH go for a nice meal somewhere and wear something you do like and feel comfortable in and take a new picture that you like to look back on, so the wedding one isn't taunting you and you feel more comfortable in your amazing body that gave you that BFP and survived all this MC trauma?

samilicious · 11/08/2020 12:18

@Sausage1990 I'm an August BFPer too! And starting saving next month. Been trying to get better with savings last few months but been hard with a pay cut from work 😒 greedy bstards they are

@Mococo1 great news on the bean!!! 😀
More reason to go for a meal and celebrate - plus the gov are doing that 50% off eating out at the moment

Noble89 · 11/08/2020 12:30

@Mococo1 oh that's fantastic news I'm so happy for you! X

mrsmummy1111 · 11/08/2020 13:06

Welcome @Sausage1990 ! The more the merrier here, we're a very friendly and supportive bunch (if I do say so myself 😉)

Wonderful @Mococo1 it was about time you got some good news at a scan! Absolutely over the moon for you. Healthy happy bouncy bean 😊

How you doing @zippityzip ? Has hubby apologised yet (LOL YEAH RIGHT). Really hope it's not tarnishing your day and you can go to your scan later feeling calm and positive xx

zippityzip · 11/08/2020 13:39

@mrsmummy1111 He "sort of" acknowledged why I was so angry I've just got sick of the back and forth and said leave it now. I said I what I needed to say so hopefully he thinks about it in his own time.

I'm just about to have my first midwife appt. Thirsty and hungry as hell 😭 I'm surprised it's face to face! Will report back how it goes.

Sausage1990 · 11/08/2020 13:46

@Mococo1 so happy to hear your scan went well and little bean is growing well 😁💕

Hi @samilicious 👋🏻 nice to see another one of us here.

I'm actually reassured that not everyone has a savings pot already. I've had a kitchen reno savings pot so I decided to split it 50/50 a few months ago for kitchen reno & baby savings. Just putting a few hundred a month in each pot and see how we get on over the next few months 😊 my SIL has loads of baby stuff she won't be needing at all by next year as my niece will be 3 so she's already ready said that she'll keep all the big stuff so we can use it all when we have kids... Which will be a huge saving in the longer term. Xx

SmileyT · 11/08/2020 14:14

@zippityzip glad you stood your ground MIL sounds a nightmare 😤

@Amy00 I've got somebody on there that has a mutual friend but not one I speak to anymore (somebody I worked with at uni) so even if the person told them, which would be outting themselves they wouldn't tell anyone I know now really x

@Madz123 I had cramping after my BFP hopefully it's just normal aches and pains x

@Sausage1990 👋 I know it's hard especially after a previous loss but I'd say it's so hard to see progression each day and every couple days is much better to see x

@Mococo1 yay to a successful scan 🥰 but boo to another thoughtless MIL, good that she is supportive in general and probably just wasn't thinking x

Savings wise I haven't saved a bloody penny 👀 My Mat benefits are rubbish but OH has said that he'll pay for the mortgage, bills, food, baby stuff etc and I just have to be able to pay my general upkeep; hair, drinks, dinners, nails, petrol etc surely i can do that with £600pm 🤔

OP posts:
Mococo1 · 11/08/2020 16:01

@SmileyT my DH is the same for me to just keep the mat money for myself and (he jokes) my several ASOS orders that I will end up returning (and also for me to keep Child benefit if we qualify! but for those of you under the income threshold I think it's £100 or so a month for your first)

After my rant this morning I've completely forgotten about the comments - so all is well and forgotten! I should really be a lot more appreciative that she's lovely 99% of the time

@samilicious thank you for the food idea and the reassurance♥️ we ended up having a little late lunch down at Costa 🥰 half price lol x

I'm glad we have August bfps on this thread think you should all join 🤣

@zippityzip good luck at your MW appt! Hope it all goes well! Mines F2F as well but 8am on a Saturday morning 👀 22nd x

Eloise27 · 11/08/2020 16:03

Hi ladies, do you mind if I join in?

Roughly 5+5 if working from my last period but I had 2 peaks on my OPKs this month so not too sure when I ovulated! Had a CP last month so wanted to wait until I’d made it further along this time before embracing the fact that I’m pregnant...is that weird? ☺️

@Sausage1990 So jealous of your mat pay! I also work for the NHS but checked my contract today and it’s just 8 weeks full pay and 18 weeks half pay, then SMP. (Not complaining though, as I know it’s a better deal than a lot of other employers ☺️)

2020mission · 11/08/2020 16:09

Sorry to butt into the chat, but has anyone had any spotting since their BFP? I just went to the loo and had CM with quite a few streaks of spotting 🙁 I'm not feeling confident in this pregnancy now. For me spotting only ever leads to bleeding a day or so later. I usually spot for a couple of days before a period. I'm at 4 weeks and a day since my last period started and 17 DPO. Haven't had sex since Sunday so can't be anything like that.

Amy00 · 11/08/2020 16:17

@2020mission lots of women spot and bleed throughout pregnancy and are absolutely fine. I can understand why you would feel worried but unless you have a lot of (bright red) bleeding you are totally fine. Just try to rest and keep an eye on it x

Amy00 · 11/08/2020 16:19

@SmileyT @Cocoblue22 I think it was you two ladies talking about the 28 week mark? I came across this on the bbc from an article a few days ago that says throughout pregnancy if you can work from home then you should, and social distancing etc is particularly important after 28 weeks. I think because there is a slightly higher risk with the virus in the third trimester?

Amy00 · 11/08/2020 16:25

@Noble89 oo names I've been browsing all the lists! Finding it really hard to settle on any, I feel like I want one that isn't totally common but not too out there?! But I also like the traditional names so might end up with a relatively common one! I think we will really start looking seriously after we know the gender.

Are people planning to buy lots of gender specific clothing? My OH is a big believer of gender equality (obviously we all are) and thinks that we shouldn't dress boys in blue and girls in pink. Part of me agrees but then how will people know if it's a girl or a boy?! I also don't think there is masses of choice sticking to yellow/white/green so he might have to be flexible on this!

Amy00 · 11/08/2020 16:38

Sorry for clogging up the thread! I keep posting too soon and jumping around!

@Sausage1990 welcome! And I can def see progression on the latest ic. I tested about 8 times on ic and could genuinely only see progression every other day.

We don't have a baby savings pot really but do have a house pot! This house needs so much work we are planning on extending out the back and knocking through internal walls to make a nice light open plan kitchen/living area. And also building on top of a pre-existing ground floor side extension to put in another 2 bedrooms and an en-suite. And the current bathroom needs re-doing and moving upstairs. Basically re-doing the entire house so every penny needs to go towards it really!!

How much do babies actually cost?!

@Mococo1 great news on your scan!! 🥳🥰 Can you hear a heartbeat by then or can you just see it? Good shout on the mortgage holiday too!

@SmileyT nearly fell of my chair earlier when I noticed someone new just joined the fb group with an unusual surname same as my team leader, thought she was her sister for a second. Did a small bit of stalking and don't think they are related. I'm paranoid.

@Eloise27 welcome! I'm 5+2 today and previously had a CP at 5 weeks so know how you feel! Its a nervy time but just trying to enjoy every day until I know there is something wrong (which hopefully never happens!)

I'm also in for if we do a small fb group with this thread 😊

Mococo1 · 11/08/2020 16:41

@2020mission I had some spotting last week for around 4 days (pink tinge on discharge) sort of sounds like what you have and I was convinced it would lead to a proper bleed but was ok! As @Amy00 said unless it's bright red I wouldn't worry too much. I told EPU today and they said it could just be a late implantation bleed and as long as it's not bright red or clots try not to get yourself worried- Which is easier said than done I know ☹️ but plenty of women have it so don't lose confidence yet x x

Welcome @eloise27 and congrats, not weird at all - you have to do whatever it is to reassure yourself 🥰 x

@Amy00 haven't thought so far ahead as clothes but probs will buy a mix- my friend had a little girl and hates pink and at the baby shower she asked for clothing and everyone bought lots of different bright colours so I think if you search well enough there's a lot out there other than pink/blue! Bit tricky with baby grows but when bubs is a tad bit older I think it depends more on the style like dresses/tops/hoodies as these are the things that will make it non-gender neutral! Hope that helps xx
