Okay I'm still super nervous but time to take the plunge and started a Grad bus for the recent BFPs from the main thread. According to NHS calculator I'm due 18th March and it's #1 for me 😬

@Skip86 😂😂 blood sucking novices

I had my blood draw virginity taken on Tuesday when I went to EPU! They were surprised I'd never had my blood taken before (at least that I can remember) It took them 3 attempts and even tried the butterfly needle but it only gave out a tiny bit of the red stuff so had to go again. I have two matching bruises on my arms now from the bloods they took on Friday and then some red marks on each from taking off the surgical tape too because that stuff grabs hold tight!

Ltay2 · 09/08/2020 08:12

I have had blood taken soooo many times too! I had a lotttt of blood tests as a child and I've had at least 10 as an adult for various things. Not quite @Skip86 level though 😜 I do enjoy watching the blood coming out so that must make me a freak 🙈

zippityzip · 09/08/2020 08:17

I had an antibody Covid test last week (for work) and he said I can tell you don't mind needles because I have a full sleeve tattoo. I don't mind bloods at all.

Woken up this morning without any sickness or nausea. A bit apprehensive about this.

On the other hand, way too much TMI - but now DH is over "the fear" of sex in early pregnancy - even though I'm a bloated and sweaty mess, it's better than ever. What is it?! Extra blood flow?! Hormones?! Whatever it is I hope it lasts.

blodyn91 · 09/08/2020 08:31

@zippityzip we still haven't had sex 🙈🙈 OH stayed up last night and was way too drunk when he eventually came to bed. But I think we have both been too scared 😂

@mrsmummy1111 My brother is 27, Im 29, Sister 32, Older brother 33. I really want 4 but OH doesn't. Absolutely loved growing up with 3 siblings and we are all still very close.

@samilicious I've stopped taking my bbt so I can make sure I sleep better. I suppose Ive never gone through a loss so no idea how some of you feel. 💚 @Bl0ndi3 have read some of the thread and it sounds heartbreaking. But sounds like you are coping well getting back onto it so soon
I've acctually blood sampled hundreds of cows through my job, they have vains the size of my arm! But when its my own blood I have to turn away.

Bl0ndi3 · 09/08/2020 08:34

@blodyn91 thanks honey congrats on your BFP 🥰

I'm channelling all my hurt and sadness into motivation for TTC xxx

Amy00 · 09/08/2020 08:37

Thanks for all the congratulations everyone 😊 it honestly isn't all sinking in that I will have a new baby, house and job! To be honest I'd give back the house and job to have a healthy baby - this excitement eclipses the others!

On the blood giving - I'm fine with normal blood tests but the one time I tried to give blood I fainted!!! Was my blood pressure going so low I think as wasn't nervous at all, was just chilling in the chair playing sudoku on my phone (back in the days when that was mega trendy) and next thing I know they've flattened the chair and waving fans at my face crowded over me and I'm a sweaty mess!! Have been too scared to reattempt since 😂

2020mission · 09/08/2020 08:50

@SmileyT thanks for all the info on the booking appointment that was really helpful! So unfair what happened in your last pregnancy but it won't be long until you've reached and passed 10 weeks this time and hopefully you can relax a bit from there, although I can imagine none of us will ever fully relax until reaching full term!

@zippityzip we haven't had sex since seeing the BFP... my husband said he was worried about doing damage yesterday. I think it's because of the chemical last time. I'm hoping his fear will pass as it's absolutely fine to keep having sex surely? Need to make the most of it for the next 8 months 😆

zippityzip · 09/08/2020 09:08

@2020mission @blodyn91 To be fair he didn't touch me for a good two weeks and I was getting a bit frustrated. You know how hormones make you irrational, I was thinking he didn't find my belly and burger nipples attractive.

My DH isn't very affectionate in general he dislikes being touched too much but he's been quite touchy feely without instigating anything. So I've had to lead. I was nervous initially but honestly it's been incredible. I don't remember this last time 😂

Amy00 · 09/08/2020 11:24

@zippityzip @2020mission @blodyn91 we also haven't had sex yet! We've both been too nervous 🙈 we've promised we will do it today though as we've hit the 5 week mark so feel like it's now or never - I'm not going the next 8 months + with no action!!!!

Cocoblue22 · 09/08/2020 11:56

@SmileyT yeah my 15 week appointment is over the phone too which like you say is a shame not to hear the heartbeat with the Doppler x

I'm stressing out this morning I've had a really stressful few days and now I've woken up and my boobs don't feel sore anymore so now I'm worried about that too just looked online if I can book another scan but the only time available is next Sunday which seems a long time to wait x

Skip86 · 09/08/2020 12:21

@mrsmummy1111 yep number 3! OH and I decided on our very first date that we would get married and have 2 kids 😂 so this is pushing it a bit beyond the 'Life Plan', but I think after I had my second boy I knew straight away I wanted to have another. Took OH a bit of convincing though!
I'm same as you that I know if I leave it too long and the older ones are past baby stage that I won't want to go back. When this bub arrives the others will be 5 and 4 months, and 2 and 9 months 😊

@Bl0ndi3 insult to injury having all those bruises 😩 poor love xx

@Ltay2 oooh I like watching the blood come out too! We can be freaks together!!

@zippityzip second trimester is when those sexy hormones will really set in 😉 enjoy it I say!

Unless you are having problems and told by a doctor to abstain or be on bed rest etc, I think sex is fine in pregnancy!

@Cocoblue22 I know it's hard but honestly please try not to worry! Symptoms will fluctuate daily! I was a little worried that I've had very few symptoms at all the last 7 weeks, and then today I felt horribly nauseous all day 🤢

I tried to give blood once years ago and was rejected! Too many medical problems (I am broken) BUT they still gave me a free sausage roll and chocolate so I feel like I won that day.

Cocoblue22 · 09/08/2020 12:26

@Madz123 he's 2 so doesn't really understand not to jump on mummy! I've tried to reduce the amount I pick him up and not carry him etc but it's unavoidable getting him in the car etc and he had a massive tantrum and did the back arching and I had to wrestle him into his car seat yesterday it took me ten mins to get him in! X

@blodyn91 excellent acting there at the bbq! You did so well to act pissed haha x

@Skip86 I'm in the regular needle club too with my UC I always have butterfly needles in the hand hurts more but far better than the arm any day! Thank you for the toddler reassurance that's exactly what I needed to hear that it's fine to lift them etc 😘 sometimes you just need someone else to keep telling you it's okay x

LittleRa · 09/08/2020 13:31

Hope everyone’s doing well. Still here, reading along but not much too report! I’m 8+2 by my calculations, only real symptom is extreme bloating- I fell like a 🐳 plus tired, DD has gone away with her Dad for a couple of days and I’m a teacher so on summer holidays, taking advantage of lazing around all day!

I have booking in appointment on Tuesday. Thanks for the info about yours, @SmileyT I go alone, no partner, and wear a mask. As far as I’m aware it’s face to face not phone, also including the bloods, height, weight etc. I want to find out about advice for me returning to school amidst the pandemic, and also find out about partners attending scans (if I find he can’t attend the NHS one, I will probably book a private one so he can attend).

Little trick for you all once the bloating/bump kicks in- hair bobble through the hole and then hooked round the button on the fly of your jeans. You need a longish top to cover it! I’ve added a photo (from google image search, not me).

Lettie365 · 09/08/2020 14:36

@mrsmummy1111 Hi, this is our 3rd baby. I always wanted 4 But then had my first two 18months apart and it’s taken 7 years to consider another one and recover! 😂
My first born - Daughter now 8.5years will make a wonderful adult if the rest of us can survive raising her 😉 she is very bright and has been ‘interested’ in everything since the day she was born. Parenting her is interesting but we’re getting there! I’m hoping for an easy few years maybe before we hit the teenage years??? Ha unlikely!! She loves babies tho and is fantastic with them so I’m hoping when she knows about this one she’ll be over the moon.
My son is a poppet, 7years old and just like his dad. If I had had 2 like him I’d probably be on my 5th by now 😂😉
But here we are 7 years later braving another one! It’s going to be very different to last time and I’m hoping to savour it all because my second pregnancy was a blur with a little baby to raise!
Here’s to a healthy happy 9 months for us all.

samilicious · 09/08/2020 17:50

@blodyn91 @2020mission @zippityzip @Amy00 i'm still avoiding sex too! Scared me when I read about pregnancy sex causing spotting, I just couldn't handle that mentally right now. We're half a bus full of pregnant nuns 😂

I took the CB weeks test today and it says 3+ weeks 🤔 was expecting 2-3 as (going off my last period) I should be 4+2 today. But I did start spotting/very lightly bleeding about 4 days before my intense period pain/heavier flow came, so could that be my actual first period day? Would be so relieved if I was 5 weeks pregnant instead and shorten the 8ww

Noble89 · 09/08/2020 18:10

Hi ladies,

Need to catch up with the thread but had my early scan and all perfect! Measuring exactly correct at 7+3 and little heart was racing away 😊

July Bus Graduates ❤️
Madz123 · 09/08/2020 19:06

@Noble89 ah lovely scan picture! Glad everything went well 😊 even more tempted to get an early scan now!

SmileyT · 09/08/2020 19:11

@Mococo1 what day is your follow up scan next week? x

@blodyn91 I'm amazed at your race PB and an all evening BBQ for OHs birthday, i definitely think being active at the beginning helps. If you've given blood I reckon you'll be fine, because it'll literally be the first 30seconds of that experience so low blood pressure shouldn't make as much of a difference x

@zippityzip I've definitely not experienced the better than normal sex yet 🙈 some people give up sex for the full 9months, but I just keep thinking if I did that when I'm probably having no sex for a couple months after aswell it's a year without sex, if I want a baby anytime soon after that he'll definitely think I just wanted a sperm donor 😂 we definitely are not having as much sex as we were when ttc though x

@2020mission yeah definitely just counting down the days until that dating scan as it feels like that is the point it feels a bit more real x

@Cocoblue22 ahh think we are about the same dates and my boob soreness is definitely getting less so hopefully it's not bad news for either of us. My nephews are 16months apart and my brother had to be quite strict with the older one so that he wasn't too rough with baby when he arrived and even at that age he did understand that he had to be gentle but just think it takes them a bit of time when they are small x

@LittleRa I actually think it makes sense to have it all face to face, my telephone bit was so short and the midwife actually ended up repeating a lot that was said on the phone 🙄 ooh will you share the info about work that the midwife tells you, I thought all the restrictions had been lifted but would be interesting to know if MW are still advises adjustments be made for work, currently there is no real way I can socially distance when working x

@samilicious yay to 3+ the tests have such a big range so it may be that you ovulated a bit early, hopefully that 12week scan will come along soon for all of us 🙌🏾

@Noble89 congrats again on the successful scan, did they do any additional tests for the molar or just confirmed the size? x

OP posts:
LittleRa · 09/08/2020 19:12

@Noble89 Great picture! Internal or external scan?

Noble89 · 09/08/2020 19:54

Thanks ladies 😊

@LittleRa internal scan. I was really pleased as the image is super clear

@SmileyT all they can do to check for molar at this stage is check growth as typically (but not always) molar shows restricted growth which was the case last time with me. I went for my scan at 8 weeks and only measured 6 weeks where this time I went in at 7+3 and measured 7+3 so really happy with that.

The lady who did the scan was soooo lovely, even let my partner come in for support under the circumstances. She's also booked me in again 2 weeks today as the other thing they like to do is check the placenta which obviously isn't formed yet so she said she thinks everything is perfect but to give me peace of mind come back in 2 weeks and she will rescan to confirm growth all still good and she'd be able to look at the placenta by then 😊

Noble89 · 09/08/2020 19:55

Do it @Madz123 it's made me feel so much better. We went to next after and bought a little outfit to celebrate 🙂

Ltay2 · 09/08/2020 19:56

@Noble89 Ahh love your scan pic!

We still haven't had sex either! I'm not really interested at the moment tbh I'm exhausted all the time. Had a nice meal out with OH parents today then on the way home I had a complete meltdown because I couldn't work out how to park the car in a space at the shops, was stressed and OH not helping trying to rush me coz he needed a wee 😂 so I spent the next couple of hours on and off crying over nothing, wasn't even bothered about the stressful situation anymore but just couldn't stop myself crying. Ended up having another nap to calm down (had 2 today and still exhausted!).

blodyn91 · 09/08/2020 20:10

@Noble89 how exciting! Also makes me consider an early scan!

@SmileyT Ive been knackered today 🙈 did go for a walk in the hills this afternoon as needed some fresh air.
Is early pregnancy a bit like sea sickness/ mild hangover? Felt a bit weird today.

2020mission · 09/08/2020 20:20

I ended up having sex this morning but have found I've been really checking every time I go to the loo now as I'm worried I'll see spotting. Nothing so far though 😅

@Noble89 great scan photo! Didn't think you'd see so much this early but that's nice and clear 👍🏼 what's the internal scan process like? I take it they are using similar technology to what they hold on your stomach usually but just inside the vagina?

I realised today that CB digital tests go blank the next day after you take them and I never took a photo! It didn't even last 24 hours 😆 luckily my husband and me both had a good look yesterday. I think I'll test on a FRER again tomorrow to see if it's got any darker.

Completely understanding how you have all been feeling with the anxiety over things sticking. I really have no symptoms so far except tender boobs but that happens before AF most months anyway. If I wasn't TTC I'd have no idea I was pregnant right now.

Hope you're all feeling good.

blodyn91 · 09/08/2020 20:38

@2020mission I need to loose my pregnancy virginity 😂
