Okay I'm still super nervous but time to take the plunge and started a Grad bus for the recent BFPs from the main thread. According to NHS calculator I'm due 18th March and it's #1 for me 😬

@LittleRa it was external so nice and easy, I also didn't drown myself in water this time so wasn't uncomfortable when she pushed on my belly, just had one large glass about 30minutes before 👌🏾 how are you doing? Back from your break? x

@Bl0ndi3 I've been trying to lose weight and have managed to shift a few of my lockdown lbs but definitely going to drop a few more before they weigh me on Saturday 😂 drink loads of water and get on the Rennies, they have seriously helped with the bloat for me x

@zippityzip yes I'm staying positive this group is great for that aswell 😊

@SmileyT Aww, congrats! So happy for you =)

Hope everyone else is doing really well! I still don't have any symptoms except for sore boobs and my belly looking huge! Apparently, that's pretty common for women in my family, so I'm trying to not worry. My DH made a joke the other night that I might be carrying twins. The thought alone almost made me pass out!

Are you all calculating from your LMP? Do doctors and nurses refer to your baby's gestational age or foetus age?

zippityzip · 03/08/2020 11:46

@FairyLights2 My eldest daughter said it was twins in my tummy - i practically shit myself.

Bl0ndi3 · 03/08/2020 11:47

@SmileyT I was a little scared after my post i would get judged at trying to lose weight so that's such a relief that I'm not alone.

I have the rennie deflatine is that what you mean?

I'm determine to try and really get my weight under control in the first trimester so I can manage it further in in my pregnancy as one of my fears is looking back on my pregnancy and remembering how awful and ugly I felt instead of how happy and relaxed I felt. I'll feel much better if I know I'm doing everything I can to stay healthy for us both.

I have my booking in appointment two weeks tomorrow and I assume I will get weighed so I would love to have dropped a few lbs as my BMI is overweight but closer to obese than it is normal at present. I'd need to lose 2 stone to be a healthy BMI so I know that isn't possible right now but I'd like to stay where I am rather than move closer to the obese BMI I've been there before don't wanna go back 😭

Weight loss was the only silver lining every time I got a BFN I kept thinking it's another month to lose some weight haha.

Lettie365 · 03/08/2020 12:06

Personally I don’t see any problem with losing weight in Early pregnancy providing you have weight to lose and don’t have a BMI under 18/20 or whatever. Assuming you do it with healthy foods it’s much better for you and baby than to put too much on.
I’ve just lost 20lbs over the past 8 weeks and then fallen pregnant Grin I’ve got 4lbs more I’d like to shed before I am weighed in at my booking in appointment which I really hope I can do. When I was pregnant with my other 2 though I ate crisps to ease the sickness- will see whether that hampers my weight loss efforts Grin

zippityzip · 03/08/2020 12:12

@Bl0ndi3 Slimming world also take on pregnant and breastfeeding clients - they just adjust your meal plan accordingly.

Surely it's better to eat the "right" food that can mean weight loss. I'm trying to maintain, giving up the wine has helped. But I'm still bloody huge already.

Ltay2 · 03/08/2020 12:15

@Bl0ndi3 I definitely could do with losing some weight too, I've eaten so much crap especially in this TWW so need to give my body some nourishment back! So nice that you've made a Facebook group too, don't think I'm ready to join one just yet but will be lovely to put faces to names once the time comes!

@Lettie365 Well done on the weight loss! Were you following a certain program or just making healthier choices?

Bl0ndi3 · 03/08/2020 12:25

Thanks girls 🥰

I am doing it with slimming world so it's just eating healthily and it's always worked for me in the past and I eat huge portions 😂 so I don't see any harm at this early stage.

I am fortunate enough to have no nausea so far (sorry!!) so I can eat whatever I want to so I need to take advantage of that as long as I can and eat salad and vegetables.

zippityzip · 03/08/2020 12:30

I still haven't heard from the hospital. It's been a week since they initially emailed and said they would get back to me.

Is it too soon to chase them by phone call?

mrsmummy1111 · 03/08/2020 13:25

I was just about to come on here and ask everyone how they are, and say I'd missed this thread the last few days (thinking nobody had posted) and MN has bloody removed it from my "I'm on" threads. That's not the first time it's happened to me - I had to search for it. Anyone know why / what I can do to add it back to my "I'm on" threads?

Now to read the updates - yay!

FairyLights2 · 03/08/2020 13:27

@zippityzip - haha, honestly these people! I would call them. What's the worst that could happen? They say no. At least then, you have a definitive answer instead of them wasting your time. Wish you all the best x

FairyLights2 · 03/08/2020 13:28

@zippityzip btw the 'haha, honestly these people' was in reference to my DH and your eldest daughter wishing for twins - not the hospital staff lol.

zippityzip · 03/08/2020 13:35

@FairyLights2 That is true. I'm just getting nervous as I'm due a booking in appointment and bloods next week. So just getting agitated with not knowing! I'll let you know what they say.

mrsmummy1111 · 03/08/2020 14:05

Yay @SmileyT ! First scary milestone out the way though, there is officially a heartbeat and baby is in the right place. That had to feel wonderful. Congrats!

It's making me so impatient excited for my early scan now. Sunday 16th for us, feels like 100 years away though. (Which is only a very slight exaggeration.... 😉)

@zippityzip you're a far better person than I am. I'd have been on the phone 10 mins after the initial email "just to let you know I've sent an email. Go ahead and check for it while I'm on the line if you like. I'll wait..."

Also why has every other sucker been offered blood tests but I haven't? I've just got a bog standard midwife booking appt then dating scan a few weeks later. Doesn't anyone want my blood?!

mrsmummy1111 · 03/08/2020 14:09

Also wondering if anyone else gets nausea only after eating?? Granted I did have a piece of giant fried fish for lunch (Don't judge me I'm on mi holidays) and I've felt horrendous ever since. It could've been the fried fish. Or the fries. Or all the bread and dips, sure, but it's happened almost every day where I feel ok then after I eat I feel rotten for a good few hours afterwards. I don't have any nausea in the mornings though, only seemingly after mealtimes in the afternoon / evening. Anyone else ever had this?? I had zero nausea whatsoever with my last pregnancy.

LittleRa · 03/08/2020 14:35

@SmileyT Yes, back from camping, it all went well and DD loved it! I’m fine, but I don’t really have any symptoms apart from being super bloated and looking about 8 months pregnant 😳 I don’t feel sick, don’t have sore boobs/nipples. Maybe a bit emotional/tired!? But hard to tell if any different from usual 😂 I’m toying with whether to book an early private scan.

I’ve been following along with everyone, I’m not doing too well with keeping up with posting but I am here and following you all! Smile

Ltay2 · 03/08/2020 14:50

I'm so nervous/excited to go home and tell OH 🙈 got butterflies and everything. Can't imagine what I'll feel like telling anyone else who doesn't know we've been TTC 🤣

Amy00 · 03/08/2020 15:02

Hello ladies 👋
I'm popping over here from the July bus, still feeling a bit tentative as I'm 4+1 today so mega early. I checked and my last CP ended at 5 weeks so need to get past the weekend before I'll feel any better I think!

Has anyone else had mild cramps? I hadn't had any at all until yesterday I had them on and off all afternoon and the whole time I was anxious 😩

No cramps today but just feel a little uncomfortable down there. Trying to keep positive!

We just told my close family yesterday morning as we were staying over at theirs last night - they know we are trying and I've been fairly open with my mum about what's going on so she knew I'd either be on my period or have good news! They were super happy and my mum especially got a bit emotional, it was really nice. I'd bought a little "guess what?" baby gro as a cute way to tell them 😊

Oh and little recap on me, I'm 31 and so is OH, this would be our first baby and is our 3rd cycle trying (lucky I know). Due date by my calculations is 11 April.

Amy00 · 03/08/2020 15:04

Eeee @Ltay2 I'm excited for you!!! Let us know how it goes!!!

Ltay2 · 03/08/2020 15:45

@Amy00 Thank you I definitely will!! I'm the same as you too 4+1 and due date 11th April! I've also had off and on cramps but I usually can put them down to stomach upsets rather than actual AF feelings although sometimes does feel a little bit like AF cramping. I get so worried though when I feel like I've started bleeding, think it's due to excess CM giving that 'feeling'!🙈

Skip86 · 03/08/2020 15:50

Hiiiii! So I've only just found this convo, oops! Will attempt to have a read through the last few days and join in 💗

Cocoblue22 · 03/08/2020 16:04

@Bl0ndi3 yep I feel really impatient and time is definitely dragging! X

@SmileyT oh no what happened? Was everything okay? Aww lovely photo of your little bean!! Was your dates bang on? What made you go early? X

@Ltay2 congratulations on BFP 🎉 Im a bit behind been away for a few days so catching up! Excellent line progression there x

@Amy00 congratulations on BFP 🎉 what a lovely way to tell them! I had cramping early on this time but don't remember having it with ds try not to worry x

@Skip86 hello 👋🏻 glad you found us 🎉 x

Now I need to catch up on the other bus....that's going to take much longer 👀 x

Lettie365 · 03/08/2020 16:19

Congrats and welcome to all the new joiners!
I managed to get in to see my GP today which I was very surprised about. They didn’t do my bloods as only 4weekd so I’m to go back in 3 weeks for those. I have all my booking in paperwork to do and she weighed me, tested urine etc which at least means I don’t need to bother losing those 4lbs as it’s too late- it’s on record now 😂

Ltay2 · 03/08/2020 16:33

Is there any benefit of me going to my GP as first point of call or is it better just to self refer directly to midwives at the hospital? I have found an online referral I can do but just wondering if it's better to try GP first for whatever reason?

Lettie365 · 03/08/2020 16:45

I only went to the GP as it’s a different health service over here to the NHS. I tried to self referrer to antenatal but they like you to be referred by a Dr 🤦🏼‍♀️ If you can self referrer I’d just do that x
