Okay I'm still super nervous but time to take the plunge and started a Grad bus for the recent BFPs from the main thread. According to NHS calculator I'm due 18th March and it's #1 for me 😬

Haha @SmileyT - I think I'll need maternity clothes soon as well! Just before I found out I was pregnant, I was preparing myself to go on a diet and begin rigorous exercise. I've put that on hold for now but I'm definitely looking a tiny bit pregnant because my belly now is bloated 24/7 lol.

FairyLights2 · 28/07/2020 09:19

Thanks @Mococo1 I've self referred and will be waiting for their response. They said that can take between 5 to 10 working days.

I feel nauseous in the morning but no vomit. Is the old wives tale that when you don't vomit, you're carrying a boy - true? Curious if anyone has anecdotal evidence that can support this? Just curious really.

zippityzip · 28/07/2020 09:32

@FairyLights2 My god I'm the same as you, waking up to pee, waking up sweating, can't sleep. And smells. My DH farted yesterday and I almost threw up on him.
I love coffee. Adore coffee. Coffee is life. And this morning the smell of it make me heave.

Cocoblue22 · 28/07/2020 10:06

@FairyLights2 I didn't vomit often with my ds but I know people that have lots with boys and haven't at all with girls so don't think there's much Science behind it! Also you are apparently less likely to vomit the second pregnancy than the first x

mrsmummy1111 · 28/07/2020 10:31

Sadly not @FairyLights2 - my mum had 1 boy and 4 girls and she vomited every day, then with all 4 of us girls she had the same feeling of nausea but just couldn't vomit. She said she used to try to make herself sick hoping that she'd feel better afterwards, but she'd still feel terrible sickness just then also had the taste of vom in her mouth!!

I had no feelings of nausea with my DS at all, so I'm curious to know if I'll get anything this time around.

Are any of you girls planning on finding out the sex? We found out with our son (didn't plan to, but they offered it to us and we just couldn't resist finding out!) but determined to hold out this time and wait for a surprise. As long as it's healthy I couldn't care less about anything else!

Cocoblue22 · 28/07/2020 11:05

@mrsmummy1111 we will find out at 16 weeks. I'll book a private gender scan. We haven't got a preference like you say we're just hopeful for a happy healthy baby but I found out with DS and it was easier for buying clothes for him and I also liked knowing more about the baby I was carrying so liked knowing he was a boy but it's a personal preference. I'm also far too impatient to wait for a surprise!! X

FairyLights2 · 28/07/2020 11:16

@Cocoblue22 thanks for sharing that!

@mrsmummy1111 Yeah I'm the same - I'm just praying for a healthy baby. It's just this is my first, so to pass the time (as I have felt a bit lonely because my close family and friends have no idea I'm pregnant) I've just been reading up on old wives tales and wondering where they get it from & if there's any truth to their assumptions.

@zippityzip Seeing DH sleeping so peacefully, it's so easy to forget there are other pregnant women in the world going through the same thing as you. I feel insanely normal now after reading your post, haha!

Mococo1 · 28/07/2020 11:28

@mrsmummy1111 I would like to (purely to buy/decorate with a few bits) but not really fussed as long as I end up with a healthy baby this time!

I've just had my bloods taken by the hospital they said they will call me in a Few hours? so I'm sat staring at my phone 👀👀👀 not sure what they will say but I'm really really nervous I'm hoping they call me back with a number (thats really high) clearblue 3+ threshold is 2,753..and tested that a few days ago so ideally would need to be at around 6000😕 😫😩

mrsmummy1111 · 28/07/2020 11:37

Sorry @Mococo1 remind me why you're getting bloods taken? Sorry to ask, but I've totally lost track of what's going on with this thread! Making a conscious effort to try to keep up with it now 😁 but best of luck regardless.

Oh no judgment either way @Cocoblue22! We found out with DS so can totally understand why you would! I really loved being able to decorate his nursery and buy clothes for him etc so can imagine it'll be a totally different experience this time around not knowing. I guess one good thing is it'll stop me going overboard buying outfits babies don't wear (note to self - 2 week old babies dont need socks) 🤣🤣

@FairyLights2 when are you planning on telling people? Im lucky in that I have a vvvv.close relationship with my mum & 3 sisters (one sister and BIL were actually in our house - the communal house as it's referred!) when I did my first test 9DPO totally 99% expecting a negative, so they found out the exact same time as us) then I told mum and sisters the same day. There's just no way on Earth I could ever keep it from them, but it does mean I have people to talk to about it. Sorry you're feeling lonely but that's what we're all here for SmileSmile

FairyLights2 · 28/07/2020 12:36

@mrsmummy1111 This thread has honestly been my saving grace! Thank you for the kind words. Thanks to you ladies, I filled out a self-referral form and found a private scan that I can book soon! So it's been great learning from everyone in this thread :)

I don't have any sisters and both DH and my mum have advised me to not tell anyone until the first trimester is over. They think I've followed through with that but yesterday I told 1 of my closest friends because I just couldn't hold it in any longer. It's been so lovely talking to her about all of this. But since most of my friends don't have any children and I haven't been around many myself, I find myself just doing a ton of research.

I'll probably tell my close family and friends after the first trimester (praying everything goes well!). I think that'll be around early September if I'm not mistaken.

zippityzip · 28/07/2020 12:40

@mrsmummy1111 I never found out with my first two and probably won't this time. I like the element of surprise!

@FairyLights2 Watching DH sleep peacefully makes me want to kick him whilst he asleep for having the check to be so comfortable!

Mococo1 · 28/07/2020 13:29

@mrsmummy1111 I have a history of early miscarriages! and have had some drama with my ICs going faint and loss of symptoms this time (prev indications of EMCs) that mixed with the fact that I'm a very anxious person anyway!

bloods have been taken to ensure pregnancy is progressing okay this time🤞🏽

@FairyLights2 ive told my sisters and that's it!

The first pregnancy we told both immediate family and As soon as we Mc, we regretted it as our parents seemed so upset for us! 2nd time round I told my sisters and mum and this time round was planning on telling no one until the the dodgy ICs scared me x

mrsmummy1111 · 28/07/2020 14:59

So sorry to hear that @Mococo1 - keeping fingers and toes crossed for you. How many weeks are you? Just keep reminding yourself that every day that goes past you're one day closer to being out of the scary phase!

Has anyone else got their dating scan date yet? I only self referred 3 hours ago and already got my 10 week midwife appt (phone call) and my 12 week scan on 21st sept! I'll be exactly 12 weeks which I'm pleased about as with DS all my scans were a week late (13 weeks, 21 weeks) and that extra week felt brutal when you just want to see your baby!

mrsmummy1111 · 28/07/2020 15:03

@FairyLights2 Don't feel guilty for telling your friend! As much as partners / husbands try to be supportive, sometimes you just need a friend or someone external to talk to (I know I do anyway) I'm of the mindset that I'm happy to tell anyone that I'd want to talk to about it if anything went wrong. So that includes my sisters and my mum, so they knew immediately with DS and again this time

SmileyT · 28/07/2020 16:34

@Cocoblue22 yeah I think I'm going to download 'results with bump' and just do that as it's a bit lighter than the normal exercise programme I follow, I think it actually helps with my mental health so even a couple days a week of moving my body and not feeling so sloth like might be a good thing 😂

@LittleRa you feeling any better now? x

@FairyLights2 two of my closest friends had boys and were sick up until like 16 weeks 🙈 and yes I'm seriously bloated now, not sure if it's because of my terrible lockdown diet.

@mrsmummy1111 I'll be finding out gender at 16weeks so I have time to mentally prepare 😂 they told me they'll ring me for booking appt between 7 and 9 weeks and my 12week scan is 7th September 🥰

@Mococo1 any news on the bloods? xx

OP posts:
Mococo1 · 28/07/2020 17:39

@SmileyT all good :) I don't know the exact level of hcg as I forgot to ask! but they said it was high enough for an internal scan

Then they said I could come in today! Which shocked me lol

Obv its way too early but there's was a sac and yolk - which ive Googled should be visible by 5.5 weeks (seems right) and it wasn't painful this time but I was spotting when she pulled out the probe 😭

She couldn't see a baby but that's normal apparently however she couldn't confirm if the pregnancy has stopped developing either!

I have a follow up scan in 2weeks so should be a little over 7weeks and hoping that brings good news 🤞🏽 if that's all good il book in a private scan at 9/10 weeks purely for DH and depending on when I get a date for my 12week scan x

Symptoms are still awol😫 gna be a long 2weeks! how are you?

Cocoblue22 · 28/07/2020 18:14

@Mococo1 glad it's helped put your mind at rest a little I'm sure all will be well when you have your next scan in two weeks. The spotting was prob just from the probe rubbing on your cervix I wouldn't worry they wouldn't do it if it was a problem. Hope you're feeling a bit more relaxed now x

SmileyT · 28/07/2020 20:31

@Mococo1 ahh that's great news and yeah won't see much at 5weeks as embryo is so tiny, but at least they have booked you back in for 2weeks, interesting they haven't done another set of bloods. I'm good thanks just been for dinner at my friends, she definitely knows I'm pregnant and was obviously feeling less patient than last time ...she kept saying 'ooh your boobs really are massive right now' and when we were giving her little one a bath she was like 'so any news for me today' 😂

@Cocoblue22 what time is your scan tomorrow? I'm excited 🥰🥰

OP posts:
Mococo1 · 28/07/2020 21:18

@SmileyT thank you just hoping the symptoms pick up now! 😩 the next two weeks is gna be anxiety riddled if I still feel nothing!

I asked her about bloods and then she looked at her clipboard for my results and said no don't worry about the bloods at all just come back in for a scan so I think she's satisfied! Funny how I've had more symptoms in prev pregnancies with a lot Lower HCG x

Your friend DEFO knows! Could you make an excuse? I've just told my friend I've had the contraceptive patch fitted so hopefully she doesn't ask me about babies anymore lol

@Cocoblue22 good luck with the scan lovely! ♥️

SmileyT · 28/07/2020 21:28

@Mococo1 tbh whatever happens at the scan next Friday I'll tell her and was in 2 minds about telling her today but I kinda thought it was funny watching her eye me up all night suspiciously 😂 yes stay positive and try and enjoy the time with no symptoms as I'm sure you'll be wishing for this back if they get bad x

OP posts:
Cocoblue22 · 28/07/2020 21:40

@SmileyT it's at 11am I'm excited and nervous too I hope everything is okay and we can see the little bean! Your friend knows! Did you tell her or make up an excuse? Boob job anyone?!? I think sometimes the females closest to us are so in tune with us they can tell we are different straight away x

@Mococo1 you could be having less symptoms because your body is already used to hcg being there recently? My friend had twins and literally had no symptoms until about 9 weeks so try not to worry x

Mococo1 · 28/07/2020 22:08

@cocoblue22 Maybe! I mean I have basically been pregnant since March with 6 weeks of not being pregnant inbetween so that could be a reason! I don't have my usual chocolate cravings I guess

Boob job seems like a really good excuse tbh! If my boobs get any bigger il blame it on my new contraception 😉

How many weeks are you now? 7? Xxx

@Bl0ndi3 how are you feeling now hun? X

Cocoblue22 · 28/07/2020 22:32

@Mococo1 yeah I'm bang on 7 today so 7+1 tomorrow unless measurements show otherwise we will see I think ov was CD 18 or 19 though so possibly a little bit less than that perhaps but we will see x

Bl0ndi3 · 28/07/2020 23:37

@Mococo1 hey lovely I am feeling alright about everything now and just taking it one day at a time until my scan, today sounded really positive for you 🤞🏻🤞🏻 x

My boobs feel like they're bruised all the time and I am so tired by lunch time that today I had a nap 😴 I said to OH the worse I feel the better I feel about the pregnancy as I'm taking symptoms as a good sign

zippityzip · 29/07/2020 05:57

@Mococo1 I'm glad things are looking quite positive for you! It's cool they said come in for a scan the same day!
