Certainly more common in IVF pregnancies which mine was. I had a boy as well.

Sunsage · 21/07/2020 08:16

@Avearage I just had my 20 week scan and my 32 week scan (abdominal) yesterday and it had moved! No bleeding either. Keeping everything crossed for you that it has moved 🤞

Avearage · 22/07/2020 16:53

So relieved went today after 28 week scan showed covering placenta at 32 it was out of the way the midwife was shocked to she felt sure it wouldn't!!

So no section unless anything else springs up almost certainly induction because of my blood pressure issues...

Had an internal... Not painful actually felt scratchy more than anything all good fingers crossed for everyone else xx

@Avearage that's great news!!! Grin

Sunsage · 22/07/2020 17:11

Great news Avearage!!!

Positivity2020 · 22/07/2020 21:39

Brilliant news @Avearage

Today I had a 32 week scan to check placenta position, due to where baby was lying (breech) they couldn’t measure the distance from cervix to placenta so I had an internal examination.
The placenta was 1cm away from the cervix and I was told they prefer it to be at least 2cm away however different consultants may have different preferences, some may prefer it to be 3 or 4cm away.
Has anyone else had placenta lying at this distance at 32 weeks and it moved further away or should I set my mind for a c section?
Baby is also breech so another factor too.
Seeing consultant next week to discuss and will be having another scan to see if it’s moved any further and baby position

Avearage · 23/07/2020 17:18

Hiya I was told at my 28 week scan placenta was complete covering with breech baby and most likely to have a section..... However 4 weeks later baby has turned and placenta has moved out of the way completely so there's hope x

@Fingerscrossed11 yes at my 28w I was the same then was told 90% move by 32w then went for my 32w and it had moved 1mm away told had to be 3mm at least... I'm booked in for my 36w TMZ and will let u know. :)

Fingerscrossed11 · 23/07/2020 17:54

@KLM19
Thank you for the reply. That would be great if you could let me know how it goes. Fingers crossed for you. I’m hoping that even after the 32 weeks mark it can still move x

Fingerscrossed11 · 23/07/2020 17:56

@Avearage
Thanks for the reply.
I’m holding out hope that baby turns and placenta moves. Have appointment with consultant next week but because my last baby was breech and born via c section, I’m 40 this year and with the low lying placenta just now with baby breech can only keep fingers crossed.
That’s good news for you baby turned and placenta moved Smile x

KLM19 · 23/07/2020 18:00

@Fingerscrossed11 they seemed super confident it was possible as the uterus takes a big stretch after 32w! And I've defo defo had a big stretch and now mesuring term lol!!!

Fingerscrossed11 · 24/07/2020 13:15

@KLM19
Fingers crossed.
Good luck for today, let me know how it goes x

KLM19 · 24/07/2020 13:58

36 week scan today and it has moved to 2.7mm I have been told for the past 16 weeks it was to be 3mm away (scotland) but consultant says it only needed to be 2mm.. so feeling a bit annoyed with the conflicting information we have been given..

Sunsage · 24/07/2020 14:48

Are they maybe thinking it will continue to move? Do you have another scan or is that the final say that it has moved enough?

KLM19 · 24/07/2020 14:58

No its unlikely to move again and that is the final say. I just want baby boy to be okay x

Fingerscrossed11 · 24/07/2020 15:13

@KLM19
Hope you are feeling okay with the news.
I was told by sonographer (Scotland) that it had to be at least 2cm away but that different consultants may have different preferences such as 3 or 4cm away.
Will you be getting a c section or natural delivery of consultant says 2cm?
Was baby head down today? X

Sunsage · 24/07/2020 15:45

Sorry I sounded so stern with my questions!!!

Hope you are okay lovely Flowers

KLM19 · 24/07/2020 15:47
