@ChampooPapi I hear ya girl! Mornings still a bit touch and go but absolutely no patch on previous weeks.. I’d take the cake and sofa any day! 🙌 xx

Hanrora06 · 09/07/2020 11:54

@firstbabybell good luck with your scan! sorry that Sheffield services haven't been good for you! Mine have been OK so far, but I think it depends on where you are- I live in S8 so I will have different community midwives to yours I'm guessing, so different people will be ringing me up. I'll be moving to S10 soon and they'll change then. In terms of labour it won't much matter as I can't predict who would be on the ward when it happens! Whenever I ring up the ward with a question there's a different person, usually they're pretty nice. Though one annoyed me, basically I am still tracking my temperature with my basal thermometer, and like a week before my 12 week scan it was randomly low and I asked why that might be and she just said we don't know, we don't use it as a sign for miscarriage and I would stop doing it as it'll make you anxious. I was like taking the temperature doesn't make me anxious, I like tracking it and watching changes, what makes me anxious is people not knowing information which to me seems basic. If we know what happens throughout a menstrual cycle it seems the same should be the case for this. TBF to her though I was actually pretty anxious before my scan and I just wanted someone to say 'it's fine, it's normal' and if she doesn't know the information that's not really her fault if it's not there to be found. I asked my Natural Cycles app and they didn't know either, and you'd think they would know if the data was out there. Random sideline rant there sorry haha.

@Amyyy1 I have been feeling much better recently! I'm 16+5 weeks. Still pretty hungry but nowhere near like I was. Very occasionally tired and headachey but that was me before pregnancy anyway! I'm so sorry for those who are still feeling a bit rubbish, hopefully it won't be for long.

Could anyone recommend maternity/nursing bras? I'm looking for just a sports bra style, nice and stretchy, that is easy to get the boob in and out of for breastfeeding. My boobs are small so don't need a 'proper' bra. Sainsbury's have some, and H&M, but I'm not sure which would be best.

Pinktruffle · 09/07/2020 11:54

I've just has a call and they confirmed that DH won't be allowed at the scan :(

firstbabybell · 09/07/2020 12:00

@pinktruffle that's a shame. :-(

@hanrora86 someone on here recommended Hot Milk - THANK YOU to whoever it was by the way as i now have two excellent & attractive nursing bras!

My boobs have gone from a 36D to a 38F - they are hideous! But at least now they are contained. 😂

Allstarxo · 09/07/2020 12:06

Hey ladies

Hope your all okay and keeping well. I’m currently 20 weeks + 5 days so due 21st November. Had my scan on Tuesday, and everything looking fine. Found out we’re having a baby girl 💖 which is so bizarre because I’ve had many psychic readings in the past who all confirmed my first child would be a boy - but then again, I had a miscarriage in November last year at 11/12 weeks, so that was probably a boy 😢💙

If you are living in Scotland - Nicola Sturgeon has confirmed via twitter this morning that partners are allowed at scans and antenatal appointments from Monday. I’m sure everywhere else will follow

Xx

Amyyy1 · 09/07/2020 12:15

@Hanrora06 I have a couple from H&M and found them pretty good! Nice and comfy, I have gone from a small B to a DD I can't believe it so no way I was squeezing into my old bras 😂

@Allstarxo Oh that's interesting, hopefully it'll roll out to everywhere else soon then too! I feel so much better with my partner there as support

Allstarxo · 09/07/2020 12:23

@Amyyy1 - she has also just confirmed that partners and one other person (if you choose) can be at birth as well. Hopefully more details for us all - UK wide - later on.

Now - lets hope there isn’t a second wave of this virus in November/December.

Babyhope98 · 09/07/2020 12:23

@ChampooPapi lovely scan photo so cute 💖

Teaandbiscuits123 · 09/07/2020 12:30

@firstbabybell yes Hotmilk have saved me! It is literally the only place that I’ve found bras to fit - even my usual Bravissimo have let me down!

It’s lovely to see everyone’s bumps - v cute!

Also, with regard to maternity clothes - if you’re tempted by boohoo because they’re cheap don’t bother! I managed to get a few things that fit and are comfy but they are already bobbling and losing shape so I don’t think it really saves money in the long run ☹️ X

Snowwhite2020 · 09/07/2020 12:35

@Allstarxo yassssss thank you for your info re: sturgeon and partners allowed into scans. Hopefully this is rolled out across the country... so sad it doesn’t seem to be consistent in England at the moment. Very frustrating. xx

chubbyhotchoc · 09/07/2020 12:40

@Teaandbiscuits123 agree. Agree about boohoo. I've got a few bits that are ok but a lot of it is terrible. Serephine maternity stuff is lovely. Bit more expensive but I bought a few items in the sale.

Amyyy1 · 09/07/2020 12:48

@Teaandbiscuits123 I still haven't received a refund from boohoo even though it has been well over a month for some maternity stuff that didn't fit! :(

firstbabybell · 09/07/2020 13:24

@amyyy1 get them chased! Boohoo should be experts in returns as we all have to send most of it back! 😂 Mine was processed dead quick so sounds like something may gone wrong with yours x

peachypetite · 09/07/2020 14:01

Have you seen all the controversy surrounding boohoo?

EithneBlue · 09/07/2020 14:08

@peachypetite
Another reason to avoid Boohoo and their cheap tat 😂
It isn't just Boohoo with such sketchy manufacturing practices though.

peachypetite · 09/07/2020 14:09

I know, fast fashion needs to stop.

firstbabybell · 09/07/2020 14:14

@peachypetite @ethneblue Boohoo is bad news for the environment & mankind in general it would seem.

I have to admit though I have a jumpsuit from them though which is amazing - it's so soft & stretchy. Feel very guilty but it's just so comfy... 😫

MummyShark97 · 09/07/2020 14:16

I just finally ordered some jeans from Asos - hopefully they're alright ! Their petite range is usually good for me.

5ft1 and pregnant is not easy to shop for haha!

Hanrora06 · 09/07/2020 14:25

@Amyyy1 Good to know about H&M! I do like their stuff, I'm tempted by some of the crossover style ones.

@firstbabybell Ooh yes Hot Milk does have some nice stuff but I think too big for me! I think even as I'm growing I surely won't get too much bigger- I was basically an AA before (was told when I got measured at M&S I didn't really 'have' a cup size haha) and now I mustn't be much bigger than a large B, though I have no idea. My mum keeps saying oooh enjoy having bigger boobs I'm like I don't really think that's the priority right now lol but then she got a boob job so she cared a bit more about that than me.

nearlyamummyof2boys · 09/07/2020 15:00

Hey all (waves)
I had a scan at Window to the Womb yesterday - was amazing - OH came all is well with my little boy strong heartbeat and lovely movement.
I still haven't felt the movement but have an anterior placenta soon she said that's normal.

I meant to be having a NHS scan today but we are stuck in Liverpool so am having one over the phone. It's getting tricky as we will be moving as soon as the paperwork is through - so figuring out when to transfer hospitals and trying to know when I will be in London or Liverpool for appointments.
I think I'm scared to go back to my London hospital because of losing the other baby - so I might just transfer now and book everything for after we move and have another wellness check at WTTW if needed?

Lovely scans everyone and lovely bumps 💙❤️

peachypetite · 09/07/2020 15:05

Ugh today is going so slowly it’s horrible. Just want my scan. Sad

RestorationInsanity · 09/07/2020 15:54

Is it tomorrow @peachypetite? It is such a drag isn't it. The time passes so slowly and then once you have it and all is well you get caught up in all the excitement again. I feel DH and I should start thinking about names, or at least doing some kind of prep once the scan is over. The urgency just isn't there, although the excitement is! It feels ages away that a baby will be in our lives!

That's great news @nearlyamummyof2boys so please baby is doing well and DH got to see him. I can't wait to book a private scan so DH can get a glimpse!

peachypetite · 09/07/2020 16:22

Yes it’s tomorrow. I know what you mean. I just hope everything is healthy. I haven’t felt a single movement which I know is normal for first time pregnancy at this stage but I think I’d be less anxious if I had!

RestorationInsanity · 09/07/2020 16:36

I thought I'd be the same but now I just keep telling myself I've probably imagined any movements anyway 😂 so maybe it's not that much help!

lc86 · 09/07/2020 18:20

I'm so pleased for everyone who is able to take their partners to nhs scans Smile still no update for us in wales on it.. I guarantee they will change it the week after my scan 🤣
