@ChampooPapi @peachypetite I totally agree it's so much money I think it just liked the compactness of it rather then a big contraption - being hormonal and with previous experiences it definitely is easy to get enticed into these things.
I am going to get a pump but will be looking around more xxx

ChampooPapi · 29/07/2020 20:29

@nearlyamummyof2boys yes go simple and hand held and see how you get on, you can easily upgrade to electric or mix feed with formula when ever you want or need. You are in control now of this, you know what you want and you are a strong amazing woman who will do what needs to be done 💪♀️. I found the handheld ones with the silicone bit inside where the breaths goes the most comfortable. Though I do also remember loosing that bit about six months in and it didn't make a huge amount of difference. You have been through so much with this pregnancy and after a traumatic birth with your first it is totally normal that you are pondering and worrying to an extent about the feeding side of things, keep it simple and then see where your at a month in. If after a few days, a week or two even it isn't right for you, it's absolutely ok to use formula, some.great organic ones around too for that that won't break the bank, but I do believe that you have a very good chance of making breast feeding work for you this time 🥰

@peachypetite brilliant, my friend brought me six of the big ones with my last baby and they are still going strong, they really are so lovely

Do you recommend these or are they a gimmick?

@peachypetite oh no! They emailed me the code so not sure why, you have to be a first time customer so if you've ordered before you'll have to use your partners email address or something.

Anyway dam them!

I think that tops gorgeous @peachypetite it is a lot but I think we are allowed some treats and it is cotton!
Even just as maternity wear it's nice so would get good usage!

ChampooPapi · 29/07/2020 20:57

@peachypetite funnily enough my daughters godmother had one of these from seraphine and wore it constantly with her newborn. She had him in it all the time! So she absolutely loved it. However I'm a bit more mean with my newborns and put them to sleep as much as possible in their baskets/cots ect. It's a very personal thing, I found her little boy did settle well though into his snuzpod at night still so it doesn't mean that if you don't ever put them down you won't be able too!. So if you'd like to have them that close as well as feeding them in there then go for it, it's basically a sling really I guess

OP posts:
ChampooPapi · 29/07/2020 21:04

@peachypetite she also did use a pashmina she had laying around when he was tiny, she fashioned it into a sling type thing with a scrunchy 😄, It always made me smile when I saw him in it because they had all the gadgets and bits and bobs , fairly well off couple, and she was walking around with this faded, stained, and slightly ripped pashmina with a scrunchy attached around her neck with this tiny newborn inside. She was feverish about that 'invention', god love her.

Then she got that seraphina top I guess around a month in and definitely got her money's worth. Though once they are over three months I think they outgrow that sort of thing. Comfy top though too so doubles up

@peachypetite for the Aden and Anais code have you tried checking out as a guest or signing up because it should work then, it is for first time customers so make sure it's not an email associated with them already 👍

peachypetite · 29/07/2020 21:11

@ChampooPapi yeh I tried guest and haven’t ordered anything yet from there. Hmmm. Will try tomorrow. I think that seraphine top comes with sleeves too for the winter months, may be better.

Snowwhite2020 · 30/07/2020 04:33

Another good link @ChampooPapi for pain relief- thanks! You’re a mumsnet wizard! Xx (I’m also obviously awake in the middle of the night lol, the joys of pregnancy!)

peachypetite · 30/07/2020 06:37

Gah I had a bad night. I’ve mentioned it before but I’ve experienced a stabbing pain in my vagina quite a few times since the first trimester but last night it lasted about an hour when I was trying to sleep and was so uncomfortable. Had to come and bounce on my ball. I think the baby must favour a position that presses down on a nerve Sad.

confused107 · 30/07/2020 10:00

Oh @peachypetite that sounds horrific. I've heard about the dreaded 'lightening crutch' but thankfully not experienced it yet. I'm only 22 weeks, and not looking forward to things getting more uncomfortable

Hope everyone manages to stay cool and comfortable over the next few days

Pinktruffle · 30/07/2020 10:06

I have been having the usual discomforts when sleeping, mainly related to having to sleep on my side (hips pain, shoulder hurting) but it was usually sorted by turning to the other side. Over the past few days, my bump has started to hurt when I turn, it's not constant pain and settles after a few minutes. Has anyone else had this? Is it just because it's getting bigger?

confused107 · 30/07/2020 10:11

I think I have had the same @Pinktruffle. I'm using a pregnancy pillow and sleeping on my side but sometimes I wake up with a sore hip (assume it's the weight on it) then sometimes get a sharp pulled muscle type pain in my stomach when I roll over to the other side. As it seems to go in a few seconds I haven't really been worrying about it

Pinktruffle · 30/07/2020 10:20

Ahh must be because we are growing I'm guessing @confused107. Another fun symptom! I don't think I'll be sleeping at all by the time 8 months comes round!
I've had a pregnancy pillow since 12 weeks, it's been a God send.

Snowwhite2020 · 30/07/2020 10:32

Girls much sympathy. I have some of these symptoms too. Needing to pee in the night and the colossal effort of turning sides in a pregnancy pillow tend to wake me up and then it’s hard to get back to sleep but I can’t sleep at all without the pillow and get pain... the joys! Xx

jalu47 · 30/07/2020 10:34

Have any of you ladies had blood in your urine? They picked it up yesterday and waiting to hear what it means.. I've stayed away from google cause it makes me a bit nervous but curious if anyone else has experienced this?

peachypetite · 30/07/2020 10:40

We will definitely all be well used to nights of broken sleep by the time the baby comes. When people tell me to enjoy sleeping now I want to hit them.

Pinktruffle · 30/07/2020 11:00

@jalu47 I haven't had that in pregnancy, but did once have it during a non-pregnant time. It was a urine infection and easily fixed. Fingerscrossed yours is something similar.

@peachypetite I know what you mean! People keep saying that to me and I'm not really sleeping properly now! I can't remember the last time I slept for more than 3 hours without waking up.
I am dreading 32 degree temperature tomorrow, sleeping will be double a nightmare!

jalu47 · 30/07/2020 11:02

@Pinktruffle thanks that's reassuring, hope it's just that.

kkr168 · 30/07/2020 11:36

@Pinktruffle I've always been a side sleeper so haven't experienced any hip/shoulder pain, I have had the bump pain though on turning, I assumed its the ligaments being stretched. As @confused107 said it usually goes away soon after, so I'm not concerned.

I am absolutely exhausted today, I have no motivation to move at all, tempted to go back to bed!

Has anyone else been getting pins & needles in their hands? It started upon waking a few days ago, then my pregnancy app sent me a weekly notification today saying that its common to get carpel tunnel at this stage of pregnancy (23 weeks). Yet another joy of pregnancy!

MummyShark97 · 30/07/2020 11:59

Can I add to the complaints please and say my chest is so tight on and off this week! Apparently baby can start squishing your diaphragm... this is not fun! 😩
