No, I wrote down some notes at my 16 week appt and agree it’s too early for patterns.

peachypetite · 26/07/2020 22:11

I only really get flutters when I lay down, anyone else?
Has anyone given work a date to finish? I’ve beeen quite impressed at how organised mine are being and they are working on the job ad already. I have so much annual leave to use I think I’ll end up finishing about 3 weeks before due date on paid leave and then maternity can start in December.

EithneBlue · 26/07/2020 23:17

@peachypetite I've given work a date - my maternity leave has been sorted since, like, May - I'm conveniently overlapping by a few days with a colleague so her maternity cover is staying on to cover mine :-)

Pinktruffle · 26/07/2020 23:51

I haven't sorted a date with work yet @peachypetite. I work in a school and they are still not sure if I can come back in September as I fit 2 at risk groups for Covid, 3 if you include the fact I'm asthmatic. They appointed my maternity cover on Wednesday which is super efficient! If I am able to come back in September they want me to train her until I go on maternity leave. If I have to work from home, I intend to work until as close to my due date as possible. If I'm in school, I'll probably go at the beginning of November, after the October half term break. I'm not due till 26th but as it's a IVF pregnancy, I'm hoping to be induced early.

Have you all handed your MatB1 forms in? I'm hoping to get mine onmy 25 week appointment, I've tried to get it early but just keeping being passed from pillar to post and no one wants to sort it out for me!

peachypetite · 27/07/2020 05:18

I was intending to work as close as possible too but I’ve carried leave over for our new year (starts 1 August) so I have loads! It’s a nice position to be in. My 25 week appt is phone too, when I finally see a midwife in person at 28 weeks is when I’ll be given my form.

peachypetite · 27/07/2020 08:59

Been browsing the snuz website! Deffo want these sleeping bags, the zip is genius!

Couldn’t resist this in the sale either

EithneBlue · 27/07/2020 09:12

I've put my start date for maternity leave as 2nd November, but because of half term I'll actually finish on 23rd October. Hopefully we won't be in the midst of a second wave and I'll be able to do lots of things in that time!
No MatB1 yet but school seem fine with that as I've told them my intended maternity leave start date -- I'll just email a copy to them when I get it.

danielasummer · 27/07/2020 10:07

I'm a self-employed tutor and work from home, baby due 9th December so I'm hoping to finish mid/end of November - does that leave me enough time to get sorted? I'm thinking of finishing 3 weeks before baby's due...

Side note, has anyone ordered successfully from online4baby.com? The prices seem too good to be true and the reviews on Facebook are mixed! Such amazing prices but don't want to be scammed.

danielasummer · 27/07/2020 10:11

@Snowwhite2020 yes I agree in terms of who makes the comments! And with touchers, honestly it's your body and you shouldn't be made to feel anxious so I would be honest with family, as hard as that'll be.. I guess we need to start setting boundaries now before babies have arrived so it'll be easier to have the confidence to do so when they are here.

@ChampooPapi ahh amazing that you have so many clothes already! The benefits of having daughters before daughters :) and yes to some matching outfits, definitely mandatory and super cute! Can't wait to see everyones babes on here, I won't be posting baby's face but can see myself showing you him/her in their little outfits, neck down!

EithneBlue · 27/07/2020 10:49

@danielasummer - if you're worried about an online shop, pop it on a credit card for the added peace of mind? Their trustpilot is pretty good overall - uk.trustpilot.com/review/online4baby.com -- better than John Lewis or Ikea ;)

Pinktruffle · 27/07/2020 11:01

When's your due date @EithneBlue?

Kj1010 · 27/07/2020 11:33

@danielasummer I have used online4baby hasn't come yet coming friday but seem ok I've actually seen the pram in the flesh and it's good quality

Pea1984 · 27/07/2020 11:41

@danielasummer we ordered the snuzpod from online4baby and can’t fault it. Came quickly (although I chose the latest date it could arrive), good price and can pay in instalments for free.

confused107 · 27/07/2020 11:46

I'm due 3rd December but as it's an IVF pregnancy and I'm 39 I may be induced early I guess. Not really sure what to say to work, but I'm hoping to keep going until 2 weeks before my due date. It's hard as I've never been pregnant before and have no idea how I will feel at that point. Are most people thinking about the same time wise? Work have asked for my MAT 1B. I went in for my whooping cough vaccine on Friday and asked the nurse, she said that the midwife will give it me at my 24 week appointment and that it's quick to do. Apparently the midwife has a pad and she will just write it and give it me there and then. My boss has told me that she understands that under the circumstances it might be late and not to worry but I'm keen to get it in on time as the company maternity policy states I have to inform them and present this by 25 weeks to get maternity pay. I know it's probably fine but I prefer to do things right and properly and in these tricky times you never know really!

EithneBlue · 27/07/2020 12:06

@Pinktruffle 21st November :-)

Pinktruffle · 27/07/2020 12:14

@EithneBlue, just a couple of days before me then! October half term is what I'm thinking too.

Kj1010 · 27/07/2020 12:38

I plan on working right up to the 30th november I'm due 13th december but will take every day as it comes but would really hope I can work till then

Hanrora06 · 27/07/2020 13:00

@danielasummer thnks for the recommendation, I chatted about it with my husband yesterday night, and we decided it was a good call so we're booked on for the 8th August :D there's loads of people in my due date Facebook group also booked in, so it'll be nice...kind of like reassuring to know so many people I know (ish lol) are on the internet doing the thing at the same time!

It was nice last night as well as me and my husband had arranged to sit down for a good couple of hours and make a schedule, so we know when we should have certain things, what we should have as essentials for when the baby comes home and when we should have ordered them by... sometimes it feels like there's so much as the mum we have to do and think about, and I suppose ultimately it's our call as we're the ones living with a lot of the decisions especially if we're breastfeeding...but still to have that kind of explicit conversation was really good as there's loads of things we can discuss and decide on.

Babyhope98 · 27/07/2020 13:50

Does anyone suffer with allergies or have taken antihistamines during pregnancy. I think I have developed a milk intolerance I keep having itching and tingling in my mouth.. the nurse did suggest piriton but wondering if anyone else has used anything in pregnancy?

Amyyy1 · 27/07/2020 14:35

I'm due 2nd December, my maternity starts when I'm 38 weeks but I have 4 weeks of holiday booked directly before that so I finish up work early October! 😊

Kj1010 · 27/07/2020 17:47

Has anyone else still going a toilet constantly I dont feel this has let up at all like today feel like I've been like 50 times and also as soon as ive had a drink within 5 minutes I need a wee

peachypetite · 27/07/2020 18:05

I need to wee every time I stand up! I also have random boob pain quite often too. I’m mentally checked out of work already. Summer is our quietest time and I feel I have nothing to look forward to, wish November would hurry up!!

EithneBlue · 27/07/2020 18:06

@Kj1010 - I have that some days but not every day. I think it depends if baby is sitting on my bladder or not!

@Pinktruffle - October half term makes the most sense to me: it means I won't be handing over classes mid-topic and tbh I think I'll probably appreciate a bit of me-time before baby. I'm a nerd: a couple of weeks reading books at home is definitely not going to go unappreciated ;) I've also got a holiday booked for half term (although not very far away from home really) so that'll give me something to do!

Kpm7 · 27/07/2020 18:09

Scan tomorrow.

So so excited to know everything is ok with baby. 💕

@Babyhope98 I did used to have rashes and blotches but they could never find the cause.
I was on fexofenadine, once I realised I was pregnant I stopped taking them. However because my sickness has been so bad I was prescribed some anti sickness tabs which happened to be allergy tablets. Luckily I haven’t had any flare up and assumed they was helping.
I was on Penergan 25mg then as they didn’t work I had cyclizine both really strong. I think you will be fine or they wouldn’t prescribe them. Side effects could make you drowsy. I am no doctor but maybe even taking half may help.

I have stopped taking my meds now because my sleep was depending on them and my sickness is a little better.

Hope you manage to find something to help.
Xx

@Kj1010 toilet loads yes and through the night too! Xx

Kj1010 · 27/07/2020 18:10

@peachypetite yeah I have been getting pains in boobs every now and then I'm assuming it's either growth or the milk getting ready to produce etc think this baby must be on my bladder constantly lol
