Hey hope everyone is okay!

Just wanted to mention this app I found called baby name 🥰, you and your partner download it and connect to each other and you swipe through names, left - don't like, right - like. The ones you both swipe right on go into a list. Just a fun little way to get some name ideas😊.

peachypetite · 26/07/2020 11:00

@MummyShark97 is it the Kinder app? Grin

MummyShark97 · 26/07/2020 11:09

@peachypetite ahahah I didn't wanna say "tinder for baby names" but that's exactly what it is 😂

EithneBlue · 26/07/2020 12:11

@MummyShark97 😂 We literally call that app 'baby tinder'

For the first time today I felt actually cared about in terms of maternity care what little movement I (think I) had vanished so phoned up for advice and they were lovely: they popped me in to the birth centre to have a listen to baby for reassurance actually heard the heartbeat which was very cool! She could hear baby moving around but couldn't feel it either so I guess it's just hiding really well in there!

Snowwhite2020 · 26/07/2020 12:30

Hi ladies, been feeling pretty well the last few days but getting quite annoyed at seemingly everyone commenting on the size of my bump... like before anything else is said, even a hello! I don’t think I’m particularly large/ small for my stage it’s just weird how your appearance can be commented on so readily when you’re pregnant. Had a few tummy touchers too. Guess I need to grow a thicker skin! X

EithneBlue · 26/07/2020 12:39

@snowwhite2020 - in a global pandemic if you're being touched by people you can definitely tell them to eff off and that wouldn't be unreasonable!

EithneBlue · 26/07/2020 12:41

On another note, Aldi's baby sale is open for pre-order now :)

Kj1010 · 26/07/2020 12:48

@snowwhite2020 I get ya on the whole pregnant belly size thing I've been told u look like ur popped to u look like u lost weight to oh u dont even look pregnant now I no I was big before but surely by now 20 weeks exactly I must look a little pregnant doesn't make ya feel to good as I start thinking am I to small for how far gone I am etc but on plus side I swear last couple days I've been feeling little faint movements during the day cant wait for my daughter to actually feel baby move

peachypetite · 26/07/2020 13:51

I think having an anterior placenta is going to be a great source of worry Sad. I’ve only felt flutters, not very often and know as I progress I’ll drive myself mad worrying I can’t feel it but knowing it’s most likely the placenta cushioning movements but not wanting to risk things not being right. Thanks for the heads up @EithneBlue I’ll check Aldi now.

EithneBlue · 26/07/2020 14:59

@peachypetite - yeahhh: they were really nice when I went in, though :) I called because even though I'm only 23 weeks (and they do say not to worry until after 24) I'd had a couple of days where I honestly felt nothing and was starting to freak out. The midwife did say that in a few weeks when baby is bigger it'll be much more obvious when baby is moving, even with an anterior placenta :-)
And typically I felt movement again this afternoon!

ChampooPapi · 26/07/2020 15:51

I cracked and brought something clothes wise, but I think we can all agree that twins will look very cute in these

They are having a sale so apologies if I'm corrupting anyone into spending at aden and anais today 😬 do lovely muslin baby grows for next spring/summer too

If anyone wants a Moses basket, aldi are selling them for £30!

PipTed · 26/07/2020 16:56

@peachypetite aldi has some right gems! I’ve just ordered a few bits, too, with free delivery!

peachypetite · 26/07/2020 17:07

I have ordered the tummy time pillow 😊

danielasummer · 26/07/2020 17:24

@PipTed ahh did you?! I thought Ellie was brilliant, we learnt so much. And I agree with you! So many of our friends recommending certain products to us and it goes against what Baby Academy and Lullaby Trust recommend. @confused107 neither have we, we're in for a shock in November/December aren't we?! Was such a great course though, highly recommend. @peachypetite is that the same as the Birth Ed course? @Hanrora06 honestly we learnt so much on the course yesterday and we were engaged for the whole 2 hours, I really recommend doing it, plus it's free so nothing to lose :)

@Snowwhite2020 I've had people comment on my bump too, total strangers to be honest (the men on the fruit and veg market stall!!) they've made comments like 'we thought you'd just put some weight on in lockdown' and 'imagine what you'll be like in December'.. luckily I don't take it to heart and I love my big bump but imagine if I was really self-conscious of it! In terms of tummy touchers, make it really clear you're worried about the virus/social distancing from the start so no-one comes close (apart from those you want to touch your tummy!) - has worked for me :)

@EithneBlue really glad they got you in. It's such a worry isn't it? And also an amazing sense of relief when you find out everything is ok. I'll be 21 weeks Wednesday and the last few days have felt anxious as I haven't felt baby move much, then today I had a random one minute where baby kicked a lot. Hopefully when these babies are out we'll be able to relax a bit more (fingers crossed)!

@ChampooPapi these are goooorgeous, you now have me browsing on that site.. so many pretty things! Will you be dressing your girls in the same outfits?

Snowwhite2020 · 26/07/2020 17:40

Good advice @danielasummer. I think the Covid situation has made it a bit more intense as people have potentially not seen you since before you were pregnant and then bang your have a real bump and it’s maybe more shocking than seeing it grow more gradually... and the tummy touchers are more family who I find it hard to say I don’t want them to do it but t or ally appreciate people will feel differently about that and it’s just my personal preference x

Snowwhite2020 · 26/07/2020 17:43

In terms of the bump size comments it seems that sometimes I mind it and sometimes I don’t... probably depends who’s saying it and also how I’m feeling otherwise that day! X

Pinktruffle · 26/07/2020 20:06

We've had a bit of a clean up in the nursery today and constructed the Snuzpod.... it still feels all so surreal, I still can't believe it's really happening, it's been a dream for so long.

We unpacked the little bits of clothes that we bought, we bought a five piece set from M&S and 2 of the items are missing from the set, hopefully we can get that sorted quickly. The cot and drawers arrive in 2 weeks, once we have those we can actually start putting the nursery together properly.

ChampooPapi · 26/07/2020 20:20

@danielasummer so many gorge things on that website that is for sure! I have all my clothing from my last daughter so I don't need to get anything for these two (went a bit overboard last pregnancy so enough for twins even!) But I couldn't resist one little matching set, I mean I will dress them in the same thing occasionally as I mean it'll loll pretty cute! But mostly they'll be in different bits and pieces, definitely not against a matching outfits though I mean surly it's mandatory on occasion when you have twins 👣👣

@kkr168 thanks so much for the Joie I-spin 360 links - that’s an amazing price! I’ve ordered one in coal for delivery in early September Smile

NaomiB79 · 26/07/2020 20:44

@EithneBlue @peachypetite I'm 24+2 and have and anterior placenta and have only felt fluttery movements so far, they have been getting stronger and more frequent in the past two weeks but it does worry me that I'll find it harder to feel her move and spot patterns. I've hardly felt her at all today, although there have been some small movements, which has me really worried. It's probably nothing but if it's the same tomorrow I might phone the midwife to see what she thinks. She probably is just hiding in a new position which is making it more difficult for me to feel her. My friend who had an anterior placenta said she really didn't feel proper movements until 28 weeks.

peachypetite · 26/07/2020 20:50

@NaomiB79 oh my god 28 weeks seems like so far away. My midwife said if I haven’t felt movement by 24 to call. Do flutters count?!

NaomiB79 · 26/07/2020 21:00

@peachypetite yeah I'm pretty sure flutters count but this is my first baby so I'm not really sure what the stronger movements feel like as I haven't had any yet. I would defo call the midwife if you've not felt much by 24 and she can probably advise what is typical with an anterior placenta. I think you are supposed to be able to spot patterns in movements so you can more easily identify if there is reduced movement but I honestly can't spot a pattern yet with what I can feel, it's quite sporadic

Pinktruffle · 26/07/2020 21:26

They expect movement by 24 weeks, and it's to be reported if you dont have any but a pattern is not expected to be established until 28 weeks.
