I'm awake all night with hip pains as well @pipted I just feel it reaches a certain point in the evening and I'm a ball of a achyness

I'm also having terrible vivid nightmares!

Welcome @L4uz 🧸

I think they're lovely @peachypetite if done well! I think we will do one with DS1 - feel guilty as we didn't do with him lol

nearlyamummyof2boys · 22/07/2020 08:13

It's so frustrating isn't is @PipTed the lack of communication!
Have you got community midwives as well? They can be helpful? Maybe even have a chat with GP if you can get appointment - mines been quite helpful with stuff - and chasing up other people! (who shouldn't need chasing up)

kkr168 · 22/07/2020 08:45

@chubbyhotchoc I love Millie & Ralph's clothing, I've got a couple of hats from there & a little girls knitted outfit because I was so convinced this pregnancy was a girl (it's a boy)

I'm finding the movements strange with this baby! With ds1 I hardly ever felt movements, he didn't move much at scans, he turned out to be a very chilled baby & he is still chilled at 17. This baby is so active late at night & early morning, it's like he's having a 1 man disco, he's going to be a little terror isn't he!!

PipTed · 22/07/2020 09:57

@nearlyamummyof2boys yes it’s almost as if my hips and back are just like, ‘nah, we give up now‘ at about 7pm and then it takes me ages to get comfy! Didn’t think this would be the case until the third trimester. How are you overcoming the discomfort?

The community midwife I have been assigned was really good, but in her absence I have contacted the main 24 hour line a few times and been fobbed off a bit. 🙈 they probably think I’m a pain. But, not sure what to do otherwise. I think I’m just going to keep trying.

@chubbyhotchoc did you manage to get some sleep before your trip to Lego land? I started doing some odd exercises and stretches until about 4:30am, when the discomfort finally eased!

roro87 · 22/07/2020 10:25

Hi Everyone.
sorry for my absence. had my 20 week scan yesterday and my dates changed again I've gone from a December to November baby. Everything measuring nearly exact to the date except head size which is a little small but still in range, any one else have this? tbh both my family and my partners wouldn't have very large heads so this could be it. I have to go back for another scan at 32 weeks because my placenta isn't where they want it to be.

@kkr168 omg yes my little man is having discos too the lady doing my ultrasound was shocked at how much he moves and how strong he is. She said good luck to me and I'll be tired. Although very reassuring. my friend said all her babies followed how they were while pregnant so active remained more active and her two chilled out ones are still like that.

peachypetite · 22/07/2020 10:37

@roro87 nice to hear from you. Is your placenta low lying? There’s a couple of us on here, including myself, who have been booked in for another scan too to see if it has moved up.

roro87 · 22/07/2020 10:41

@peachypetite She didn't really say exactly what but read through the notes and get that impression she just said nothing to worry about right now. hopefully it is just that. Not complaining that I get an extra scan though this would have been my last one otherwise

peachypetite · 22/07/2020 10:42

Yes exactly!

confused107 · 22/07/2020 12:08

My mom has been knitting like a machine and has just finished this one. Just looked at the picture and nearly cried. It's so cute and I can't believe that this is actually happening. After years of trying and IVF we are actually having a baby! It might be hormones but I'm feeling a little gushy today

Snowwhite2020 · 22/07/2020 12:47

Can’t remember who said it but yes the vivid dreams/ nightmares are super weird and annoying and I’ve had some that have woken me up!

I had a week of super broken sleep and slept all night for the first time last night. Also having discomfort at night etc but find that the pregnancy pillow does help ease it a bit. Xx

EithneBlue · 22/07/2020 13:53

@confused107 That is so cute!!!

@roro87 - good to hear from you :D I don't know any human who is perfectly proportioned: if they're not concerned then it's all good :-)

@Snowwhite2020 - I actually thought the dreams had stopped but then the last 2 nights have been insane.

Anyone else with a pregnancy pillow a fidgety enough sleeper that the pillow is on the floor every morning (and repeatedly throughout the night)? Honestly, I'm going to bed in the perfect position, lying still and on my side... and then waking up all over the place (this is normal for me: I even used to sleepwalk) -- it's driving me mad! I'm just putting everything back and going back onto my side every time it happens but I honestly thought pregnancy might calm my sleep fidgeting. It's such an annoyance!

roro87 · 22/07/2020 13:58

@EithneBlue yes I start off with my pillow but wake up on my back with it on the floor beside the bed. I try my best to correct myself but very hard when asleep

EithneBlue · 22/07/2020 13:58

Started this thread to get some feedback on sling use - lots of really useful comments tucked away in here if anyone else is interested :) www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/3973822-Regular-sling-users-pros-cons?pg=1

Kj1010 · 22/07/2020 14:41

So have a bit of a dilemma the pram bundle I ordered they cant hold it for me till november so I now have to think either keep and put in shed as dont want in house or cancel it and wait and see what's about in sept/oct no family member can look after it as houses to small so dont no what to do now what would u ladies do

Babyhope98 · 22/07/2020 15:00

@confused107 how lovely, these babies don’t know how loved they are!!

EithneBlue · 22/07/2020 15:19

@Kj1010 - will you be gutted if it's not available when you look again in September? If the answer to that is yes, take it now and suck up the extra 4 months of storage. If you're not so bothered if it's isn't available later then cancel & wait :)

chubbyhotchoc · 22/07/2020 15:40

@roro87 yes my daughter measured small on her head. Nothing much gets passed her and she has an aggravatingly good memory so I wouldn't worry!

excitednerves · 22/07/2020 22:20

Hello! Just catching up with all the lovely baby clothes! I have only bought a pack of vests so far but I will have lots of DSs stuff to reuse when I finally get it out of storage so trying not to go mad. I’m still not 100% convinced that baby us a girl (keeping her legs crossed at the scan) so I’ll be buying neutrals just in case.

We exchanged on our house today, and moving next Friday so it’s going to be a frantic few weeks for us. I self-referred to the new hospital today. It’s all really happening now!

I’m also back at work from my first maternity leave and I’m loving it. I thought I’d never want to go back to work but it’s been great.

nearlyamummyof2boys · 23/07/2020 10:05

@Kj1010 those bundles do come up all the time but it might not be the exact one you want? Would you kick yourself or would something similar be just as good? X

@excitednerves yay so happy for you exchanging - I just can't wait to now!
How easy was the referral to the new hospital? Are they going to see you? X

kkr168 · 23/07/2020 12:30

I saw this today & couldn't not buy it

👣 Due Nov/Dec 👣 it's the 20 week scans! 👣
peachypetite · 23/07/2020 13:54

@kkr168 aww!!
Has anyone started getting nurseries ready yet? Obviously the baby will be in with us at first but I know I’ll never have this much free time again so I’d rather get it ready before. Can’t imagine when the baby is here having any time to browse for ideas!

excitednerves · 23/07/2020 13:57

@kkr168 that’s so cute! I can’t even imagine Christmas yet though!

@Kj1010 I bought my pram bundle super early because of a deal and didn’t regret it. I’m not superstitious though.

@nearlyamummyof2boys thank you! From limbo to having a moving in date literally over night. It’s scarily real now. So far I’ve only sent an online referal to the hospital, they’ve replied to ask a few details so they can find me on the system but I’m not officially booked in yet or anything. Will let you know.

confused107 · 23/07/2020 14:02

@Kj1010 that's so cute. It's hard to imagine we will have our babies in time for Christmas

@peachypetite we are hoping to order the nursery furniture this weekend. Hopefully that will spur me on to clear out the room that I'm currently using as a dressing room. Also realised that I only have 3 more proper pay days to look forward to so need to start spreading the cost!

peachypetite · 23/07/2020 14:17

@confused107 what you going for? I have good maternity pay but even so, I’d rather buy things And furniture while I’m earning, good point about number of pay checks - makes it seem a lot closer

kkr168 · 23/07/2020 14:33

I know Christmas seems ages & ages away but it will come around so quick, plus it was only £4.

Were madly trying to decorate the majority of the house before the baby arrives, we've done our bedroom, our sons room, stepson's room, bathroom is almost done just needs the new light, bath panel & shower fan installing. I'm currently doing the hall, stairs & landing, the living room will be next & then I just want to freshen up the kitchen ceiling & walls.

Need to go sofa shopping asap, if I want it to arrive before the baby comes, which I do!!
