Sorry you have something else to deal with @nearlyamummyof2boys At least you get to see him again next week and hopefully after then you can relax and enjoy your pregnancy. You have been through enough

@StephRae what a lovely bump. I'm 21 weeks on Thursday and still just look like I've been eating extra pasta!

ChampooPapi · 21/07/2020 15:58

@StephRae stunning photo! And absolutely brilliant bump action 🙏💞

@confused107 I too have just become a planet, I feel pretty good though in this planet 'suit', most of it drops off post baby anyway so take your pick of the carbs, they are too good to miss out on! I warn you though, I had to do the dreaded buggy fit to kick start things, oh God am I really going to do that again with twins! 😬 I'm pretty sure it's a NO.

I am finally feeling some small kicks now, very muffled, very occasional, but baby movement non the same

22 weeks today 🎉

I also almost cracked today and brought these......

Only thing that stopped me was I'd need two, though it was also the image on them both in them that made me nearly do it 🤦

@StephRae I've just looked it up and the average weight of twins in the UK is 5 and a half pounds! We both may need a couple of tiny baby things after all

Is anyone else experiencing days where they have like a dull ache on their lower belly and lower back it’s aching a lot today hoping it’s just a growth spurt.

Also the ladies that feel movement do you get days when they don’t move as much as others? I know it’s early I’m such a worry wart

Snowwhite2020 · 21/07/2020 18:07

@ChampooPapi congrats on the baby movements- so exciting! 💖

@Babyhope98 yes on both counts! I had a few days of less movement and then last night the baby back in action big time! I think they move around a lot at this stage (whilst there’s still room) and if their back is to your back you feel the kicks more on the front maybe. It’s little feet down low in my abdomen that I’m feeling!! That’s the way the baby was lying at the scan too.

In other news, still having 3 or 4 days of nausea and a bit of sickness then 3 or 4 of feeling really pretty well. Can totally relate to the carbs/ food desire tho! It is not stopping me eating, unlike in earlier days! Xx

Snowwhite2020 · 21/07/2020 18:10

@nearlyamummyof2boys sorry you have had another stressful experience at the hospital. You really have been through enough already. All my love to you and hope that the measurements do not hold any future concern. Your little one is a fighter xx

Babyhope98 · 21/07/2020 18:21

@Snowwhite2020 I keep feeling them in what I presume is my cervix too I think she’s moving she must be standing up 😂😂

Hanrora06 · 21/07/2020 18:43

@nearlyamummyof2boys glad you don't have to wait too long for the next scan! It's really nice that we have this space to chat about everything, good and bad, worries and everything else- so don't ever worry about the mood, we're here to support each other. I agree it's a good sign that he's really active, and I'm sure they'll be able to reassure you and give you all the info next week :) x

@Kpm7 I didn't realise it was a thing either! I'd heard of it but imagined it was something like from the Victorian times. I will have a try for sure, I'm kind of hoping it's covered in NCT classes and I can practice on a doll a few times, if we get face to face classes by then anyway.

Those of you with children already- how much experience have you all had with slings/carriers? I'm planning on making a separate MN thread about this, but I'm wondering if it might be possible to get away with no pram, just a sling and carrier. I am struggling to think of a time when I'd prefer a pram to a sling basically, and I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing about how impossible that might prove to be! Or even if I can just away with waiting until the baby is here and figuring out if we need one as well as the sling in the first few weeks (take advantage of the January sales??).

peachypetite · 21/07/2020 19:15

I’m feeling absolutely shattered today. Tempted to get ready for bed soon.

Amyyy1 · 21/07/2020 20:16

@nearlyamummyof2boys I'm sorry you've received some extra stress

So I've moved into my parents over the weekend with DP whilst we find a house to buy (pulled out of last one cos I want my forever home and not a panic buy!!!!) which has definitely taken some of the stress off to find somewhere but also how on earth does anyone move when pregnant? I am EXHAUSTED. Hats off to those of you who are managing it😅

NaomiB79 · 21/07/2020 20:18

@nearlyamummyof2boys I'm so sorry you are having such a rough time just now, you've been through so much these past few months, I really feel for you! We are all thinking about you and are here for you anytime you need to get things of your chest. Look after yourself x

ChampooPapi · 21/07/2020 21:06

@Hanrora06 i think as long as you get a car seat that is fairly comparable with a few prams (like a maxi cosie) in case you go for a pram after, then a sling and a car seat is all you need. My partner is more the sling person but he used our ergo baby adapt from day one pretty much and he never took the buggy out.

It's dependant on your needs, your lifestyle, your beliefs, and the baby too and what they like, but I know a few people who never used their buggy and just the sling. Then around 6/7 months they got a decent stroller because a separate sleeping place is suddenly very useful from around then (especially when drinking a large glass of wine in a beer garden!).

Have a look to see if you have a local sling library, I've linked it before but it was yonks ago, just Google your local area and the words 'sling library' you can try loads of different ones then and borrow them too 👍

@nearlyamummyof2boys bless you! You poor thing having all this worry again. I hope you get some reassurance soon xxx

chubbyhotchoc · 21/07/2020 21:44

Made a purchase today! I haven't bought much apart from the pram but I've been waiting for this to come back into stock for her to wear for Christmas https://www.millieandralph.co.uk/products/cream-fox-all-in-one-with-headband?pos=1&&sid=c86cf5fb8&ss=r

L4uz · 21/07/2020 21:54

@ChampooPapi thanks for the referral :)

confused107 · 21/07/2020 22:20

@chubbyhotchoc that's gorgeous. Quite tempted myself!

nearlyamummyof2boys · 21/07/2020 22:35

That's gorgeous @chubbyhotchoc I'm in love with this Elephant onesie from Berry & Blossom - they have lovely knitted cardigans I'm obsessed with too!

Thanks for kind messages everyone - coming home to lovely DS always makes things a little bit easier.

StephRae · 21/07/2020 23:49

Thank you for the suggestions guys!
@ChampooPapi wow 5 and half pounds! That’s so little, I’ve definitely been very curious as to how big they’ll be as I know twins are smaller but my daughter was a chunky 9 pounder 😂 going to make sure I have preemie clothes in case, don’t won’t them to be tiny and have no clothes!

PipTed · 22/07/2020 02:48

@nearlyamummyof2boys so sorry to hear you’re going through this, after the ordeal you’ve already been through! I’m keeping everything crossed for your next appointment/scan!

PipTed · 22/07/2020 02:55

Thank you all for your thoughts on hospital bags! Definitely put my mind at ease, after waking in the night with the sudden panic gngat I hadn’t even started to plan! Have more of any idea as to what I need to do, now.

Currently wide awake as my back, hips and tummy are really sore. Think hips is a bit of SPD but tummy is really tight, specially before I go to bed - hoping it’s just growing pains as baby is moving around as if training for a boxing match. But this is making my ribs/ back so uncomfortable, too.

I want to speak to my midwife about it but I don’t know when my 25 week appointment is and she still hasn’t got back to me about previous queries I’ve had over the last 3 weeks. At a bit of a loss really - when I called the main advice line they just said to raise with my allocated midwife. Worrying that I’ve been forgotten about.

chubbyhotchoc · 22/07/2020 04:34

@PipTed I'm awake too. I've started getting nausea again at night and waking up with it, we've got to be up at the crack of dawn as well as we're taking the kids to LegolandSad

peachypetite · 22/07/2020 07:08

Is anyone else thinking about doing a newborn photo shoot (corona permitting obviously)! I’ve been looking at photographers near me, soooooo cute!

ChampooPapi · 22/07/2020 08:02

Waves @L4uz welcome 🙌👣
