Thanks for responding everyone. I now feel clued up on sleepsuits and vests! Been busy today trying to hunt down nursery furniture, sorry I didn’t respond sooner 🙈

Re: sleeping I also have a full body pillow and wrapped it around my body in like a horse-shoe last night (head on the ‘u’ bit), which did help, but think I need to work on the technique more. Thanks for the link @peachypetite

@Kpm7 yes it’s not so bad now but later in pregnancy it can be bad for you and the baby. So it’s recommended to start trying side sleeping (left preferably, as that helps blood flow better) so we get used to it. But, it’s not the comfiest if you’re not used to it!

@Oli2020 welcome and sorry to hear about your worrying time. I’m sure everything will be fine and the hospital are being extra cautious. How good that you’ll be able to see the baby again!!!

@Hanrora06 it’s still more organised than me! I have a hospital bag checklist and that’s it! 🙈 I’m with you on the back pain too, getting up from sitting is a bit of a pain in the bum (literally) - look like a typical preggo!

Sorry, I tagged wrong @danielasummer thank you for the pillow links! 😊

Reusable non bleached cotton and bamboo wipes, for bum or face or anywhere really. Only 7,99, which is really good value for 12 👍

Apparently for bum wiping with reusable wipes the best combination is half cotton half bamboo. Bamboo for softness and cotton for 'traction' for the poo part 😏.

Definitely no microfiber on the bottom as it's too harsh . Cheeky wipes do all the different types too and do a half bamboo half cotton as well as completely cotton ones 👍

Ugh I have pelvic pain! It’s horrible. Just on one side. Bouncing on my ball to see if it will help.

Beccarans89 · 19/07/2020 14:24

@peachypetite I've really been suffering from this too, probably for about a week! Some days are fine but others are awful, especially if I've walked a lot! Did the ball help? Someone suggested yoga stretches so I'm going to try that this week.

Snowwhite2020 · 19/07/2020 14:33

@peachypetite and @Beccarans89 I have had this on and off the last week or two also. I hadn’t thought of getting a ball and had no idea that could help. Is it something I should be investing in? Xx

peachypetite · 19/07/2020 16:55

The ball is amazing. Will be good for labour too. One of my best friends is a physio and highly recommended it.

EithneBlue · 19/07/2020 17:04

@peachypetite - what's the difference between those ones and regular gym balls? The price of branded 'birth balls' is so much higher than a gym ball but they seem identical?

peachypetite · 19/07/2020 17:15

@EithneBlue I looked into it and it was made from pregnancy friendly material, stronger than an exercise ball and a slow deflate mechanism if it were to burst.

EithneBlue · 19/07/2020 17:45

You can get gym balls with the anti-burst technology and tested up to 300kg for less than £10 though - what's the issue that makes the material of those unsafe for pregnancy?

Snowwhite2020 · 19/07/2020 19:24

Thanks @peachypetite xx

Bluejayway91 · 19/07/2020 19:36

Hey guys,

I'm 18 and 2 and have my 20 week scan two weeks tomorrow. Very excited!

I can feel baby's movements which is great, but so weird to get used to. I thought it was gas to begin with 😂

How are people finding sleeping at the moment? I've started getting a wee bit uncomfortable and wonder if you have any suggestions for a pregnancy pillow. I'm 5'2, so don't want to be engulfed.

ChampooPapi · 19/07/2020 20:48

@Snowwhite2020 they are fine for pregnancy those gym balls, they used them in our pregnancy yoga a few years ago and I got one for like 3 pounds online and bounced hard during my last few weeks last time around. I contribute the fierce bouncing to her arriving on her due date 😏 honestly just get the cheaper gym balls with the anti burst technology

OP posts:
peachypetite · 19/07/2020 20:49

I still haven’t felt a single movement either. 21 weeks now. I wonder when I will. @EithneBlue I can’t find the link now to what I read so sorry. Make sure it is anti slip and you get the right size for your height too, as I know yoga balls are often smaller. It came next day too, no complaints from me.

EithneBlue · 19/07/2020 20:57

@peachypetite - don't worry - it's just me being suspicious because marketing for new parents seems so often to involve doubling the price tag 😂 If I decide I would like a ball I'll do my research :-)

I am 22 weeks and movement is still faint and sporadic. I am sure in a few weeks I'll be looking back on the mild anxiety this causes and laughing as the kid boots me repeatedly in the cervix ;-)

peachypetite · 19/07/2020 21:05

@EithneBlue lol know what you mean. Did you sort your nct money? I decided not to pay the £300+ for mine.

Kpm7 · 19/07/2020 21:48

Hey ladies - sorry to be so brainless I have a feeling it’s been discussed. I just can’t find it.

I wondered how much of grows etc to get? NTM

Also seen something about a spreadsheet but couldn’t find the first post saying what details on the spreadsheet I like the idea. Please enlighten me Grin

Kpm7 · 19/07/2020 21:49

FTM not NTM. (First time mum) I meant. Not new to mummy. Hahaha

Also is everyone stocked up now or is it too early. I am getting mixed comments from family, friends and husband.

Snowwhite2020 · 19/07/2020 22:31

@ChampooPapi @peachypetite what do you use the balls for? Is it good to bounce on them to bring labour on and what other uses do they have? Is it good for progressing a labour or relieving pain or...? I honestly have no idea. Xx

EithneBlue · 19/07/2020 23:54

@peachypetite - yes, although the course schedule appears much shorter so I've asked for clarification. Bit cheeky to shorten the course by 25% but only give 15% back...

@Kpm7 I have a spreadsheet to track purchases and what I need! It's multiple sheets so items are categorised (e.g. a sheet for nappies, a sheet for bedtime stuff, a sheet for clothes) - I have filled out what I need and the quantity in a table and then fill out what I have as I acquire stuff. It's conditional formatted to go green whenever a category is full which pleases the nerd in me. I also have tables in each category to track spending which pulls through to the front sheet so I can see how much I've spend so far overall and in each category.

peachypetite · 20/07/2020 07:45

@Snowwhite2020 they are good in labour when you need to keep active and moving but also during pregnancy as now seems about the time your back, pelvis and other parts of your body ache due to the pressure of the baby and everything softening. It’s great for your core too. I sit on mine now for work calls and rock side to side, days where I ache the sofa or chair actually makes it worse. Mine came with a little booklet of exercises.
