I find there's a bit of a lack of baby clothes in general. I want a nice little pink jacket. When I had my dd I had a gorgeous pink velour one with little mouse ears. It was so cute and cosy. I'm sure they'll start bring more wintery stuff out soon though.
I think you girls being team surprise are so restrained! When I was at my scan yesterday there was a couple having a full on argument about finding out the sex. She wanted to know and he didn't. I found out last time and this time because I knew that if I didn't I'd end up buying clothes twice over. Gender neutral then boyish or girly stuff. Dh was not keen on knowing though.

MummyShark97 · 14/07/2020 14:11

I know @chubbyhotchoc! salute the team surprise ladies, way more patience than me!

peachypetite · 14/07/2020 14:13

Omg @chubbyhotchoc that is SO awkward.
I love white, grey, cream, taupe, black and white anyway so I don’t feel I am missing out, plus I know we will be inundated with specifically boy or girl clothing as soon as the baby is here so it will be nice to have neutral tones to break it up!

peachypetite · 14/07/2020 14:23

Speaking of black and white, these muslins are meant to be amazing for cognitive development and stimulation; www.ettaloves.com/collections/0-4-months/products/3-sensory-muslin-squares-animal-print

chubbyhotchoc · 14/07/2020 14:32

@peachypetite it was a bit. In the end she just said 'well we're finding out and that's that'. I think it backfired a bit though because we all had to sit in the waiting room after the scans and I think she was disappointed but he was grinning his head off.

Hanrora06 · 14/07/2020 14:39

@peachypetite I like those muslins, they've got great reviews! This might sound stupid but what exactly do you do with them? Like sort of dangle them in front of the baby or just put them next to the baby, or I suppose hang them off stuff like cribs? Or just a mixture? I like the idea, it's something I've never seen!

I'm still on Team Surprise! I have been sort of teetering but never seriously considered coming off the team. We have considered maybe us finding out and keeping it a surprise from everyone else but there's no way I could keep that up. I just like the idea of knowing nothing at all about them until they are finally here- may sound strange- but I feel like once I know the sex I'll start imagining more about what they'll be like, and I don't want to do that until I actually meet them. I like the mystery. Saying all that I think I will probably be looking at scan photos and wondering which it is more likely to be! My private scan is tomorrow night...can't wait!!

haha @chubbyhotchoc that is super awkward i'm glad me and my husband are on the same page - he wants to know slightly more than i do but then he is also happy to not know. i wonder what he'll be like in the scan tomorrow though...he might change his mind! we'll be that couple but the opposite haha

chubbyhotchoc · 14/07/2020 14:46

@Hanrora06 Muslims are a funny thing. Some people use them a lot for mopping up sick and but I never used any of mine. I can see them being useful if you have a baby that spits up a lot though

peachypetite · 14/07/2020 14:49

Friends with babies used them at classes, to cover themselves while breastfeeding, mopping up all those baby fluids Grin they seem to have endless uses! Those black and white sensory Etta ones seem very useful based on their reviews in terms of stimulation.

Hanrora06 · 14/07/2020 14:54

@chubbyhotchoc @peachypetite yes I just aasked my friend with a baby and she said mopping up sick was the main usage haha but then yes, peekaboo and covering up. I have just never considered them before. But I may well invest in these Etta ones as they sound pretty amazing, and then just some basic ones for everything else!

Kj1010 · 14/07/2020 16:04

Hi ladies had my consultant appointment nothing really happened just basically asked about previous births and booked me in for 3 extra scans as my first was small which I think he wasnt really 6lbs 1 my other son was only 6lbs 14 but oh well I'm looking at it 2 ways excitement that i get to see baby more but the nerves will be at there highest also consultant said at moment partner will not be allowed in still and these appointments are for Sept Oct and Nov so seems very unlikely things are gonna change for my area not to happy bout that but what can u do

nearlyamummyof2boys · 14/07/2020 16:15

I think muslins are amazing Sainsbury's do great ones. They just come in handy for wiping anything up and the babies seem to like holding them. Even just sometimes as a light covering in the pram if it's warm. Endless uses - and they wash so well.

I realised I didn't post picture of my scan so here he is

I've been really down lately I feel like I'm forgotten about I was meant to have a scan last Wednesday but we couldn't go - so I was told a Sonographers would call me as my wellness check went well. Have rang back 3 times - it's been 6 days I haven't heard a thing and no midwife has contacted me either.
I think the twin team have forgotten me and the single baby team never knew me! So I'm stuck in the middle.
I just want to move so I can transfer hospitals but now the solicitors are taking ages
Sorry for rant - hope everyone is well ❤️❤️❤️

Great tip, buying muslin (even no bleached organic) is much cheaper by the meter then in those packs. As cute as the packs are, I found people do get you them for presents so it's great to have a good few meters around, it comes in so unbelievably useful. I've linked a local company who do it to us, they are fab, and about as ethical and affordable as you can get for this kind of thing

I’ve ordered the Etta loves ones for sensory and will get cheap for the rest. Also featured in this article the-frugality.com/baby-items-couldnt-live-without-first-3-months/ Smile

@nearlyamummyof2boys your little boy! Just gorgeous to see him again 😍. I'm not supprised your fed up, I think I'd actually be really at my wit's end. After everything you have had to endure and how you are trying to move forward with confidence and positivity, being kind of slung to the single baby team is actually not ok. It doesn't seem right, I know it's procedure but you were pregnant with two babies and this little boy will always have had a twin. You will never forget that and are coping with the fallout of going through the pregnancy up to the half way point with both boys, I just don't understand why you are still not being treated as high risk. I'm really upset for you, I can't imagine what it is like to be in the situation you and your husband are in, having to practically remind the new team of your pregnancy, this is just awful for you both. I'm just so sorry you are not being looked after like you were, it's devastating really.

@nearlyamummyof2boysi think it might be time to call and leave a really clear message on how you feel completely forgotten about. You need to push for contact now, it's the only way

For those out there who like a bit of patterning and have a few spends, muslin wise not much beats Arden and anais 🙏

MummyShark97 · 14/07/2020 16:39

@nearlyamummyof2boys so lovely to see your photos!! Sorry to hear you're being treated like this though and I do hope your solicitors hurry up!! All stressful stuff isn't it I had a mini cry today because everything felt so much! All better now though.

Has anyone used a sleepyhead before/thinking of getting one?

ChampooPapi · 14/07/2020 16:41

@peachypetite i'm kind of on an Adren and Anais ban after splurging with my last pregnancy on their last baby sale, the muslin baby grows I got are immaculate though so the twins will be rocking them come next summer. I can't say how lovely they are too, they are bloody gorgeous

peachypetite · 14/07/2020 16:43
