I am 11 + 6 weeks and have just woken up and wiped and found blood.
I am shaking with fear.

Good morning @Grumpy19 the best thing to do is to try and go into your EPU so they can check. How much blood is it?
I’m currently 26 weeks and had some blood at 7weeks, 21 weeks and 22weeks - not much each time at all but I got checked out immediately - the 2nd two times I just went into a&e and they called the gyno doctor straight away for me. All has been ok, so it’s not necessarily anything awful but do get yourself checked.

Prettylittlelady · 08/07/2020 06:38

I’m assuming your 12 week scan is very soon?

Grumpy19 · 08/07/2020 06:40

My scan is not till next Tuesday.

I'm trying to attract h a photo but I can't get it to work

Call your EPU to see if they can see you sooner than that. It's not necessarily the worst, I had bleeding during my successful pregnancy.

Grumpy19 · 08/07/2020 06:50

I have spoken to them and they are going to phone back.

It's hard not to panic, feel for you!
You need to get checked at the EPU like pp said. You can usually either do that my going to AnE or call GP who can refer you. Its early in the day so hopefully you can get seen today.

Bleeding is quite common in early pregnancy, although everyone is different I bled from around 5w to 12 w and we are currently 33w.

Good luck, hope it all works out ok.

Amichelle84 · 08/07/2020 06:55

just saw your post, glad you have spoken to someone.

Grumpy19 · 08/07/2020 06:58

Does that look like a lot of blood? Should I prepare for the worst??

OP posts:
Hercwasonaroll · 08/07/2020 07:04

Sorry OP no one on here can give you any answers beyond call EPU and arrange a scan.

I bled from 6w to 22w with an internal haemorrhage. In the end I was more shocked when I stopped.

Hope you get good news.

Prettylittlelady · 08/07/2020 07:06

@Grumpy19 it’s very hard to tell, it does look like fresh blood though so make sure you tell them this. If they can’t see you today - you can go in to a&e, that’s what I did and they just sent me to maternity triage anyway but they may have been because I was 2nd trimester.
I know it can be very scary but remember that bleeding does happen during pregnancy and it really isn’t always the worst case. Are you experiencing any cramps? If it gets heavier call back again and tell them if anything changes. I hope you get seen today. Sending love x

Grumpy19 · 08/07/2020 07:08

Thank you.
I have a general a achy pain but have had that for the last couple of weeks and thought it was just more stretching pains.

Hope it all goes well. I bled twice before 12 weeks with my DS but he was fine and the rest of the pregnancy went smoothly. I remember very vividly the shock at seeing the blood and the panic I felt. I was told to rest as much as possible so try to do that while you’re waiting to hear from them.

EastBoundAndDown · 08/07/2020 07:28

Hopefully everything is fine and you get checked today.
I bled twice with DD1 , the second time was a gush of bright red blood at 8 weeks , I still remember the feeling of being so, so worried 😟 she's 7 now.

JMG1234 · 08/07/2020 07:32

Ditto to the above. I remember also feeling a gush of blood in early pregnancy and it was bright red like yours. Bleeding happened in both my pregnancies at various points.

It made me very anxious but, ultimately, everything was fine and I have two teenage sons now. Hope it goes ok for you.

Frazzlerock · 08/07/2020 07:37

Hey @Grumpy19 I'm so sorry you're going through this worry.
I just wanted to say that you can't tell with the amount of blood and the only way you will get answers is through your EPU/Emergency gynae.

Regarding amount of blood, in my experience, I've had a tiny amount before (barely noticeable) and lost that baby. But with this baby I have literally poured with blood several times with massive clots and baby is fine still at 20 weeks (was a large haematoma)
I so hope all is well, bleeding can mean so many different things but I know the fear too well. It's horrific Flowers
Let us now how you get on

justanotherneighinparadise · 08/07/2020 08:02

It could be all sorts of things OP. I have to agree with everyone else that the only thing that will provide an answer is a scan.

TheFoz · 08/07/2020 08:06

Hand hold for you OP, it’s an anxious time. Have you got someone there with you? Flowers

Grumpy19 · 08/07/2020 08:07

Thanks. I'm still waiting for a call back to see if they will see me today.
I have been to the toilet again and wiped and got a very small amount of brown looking blood.
My back seems to be achy now but I don't know if I am just over analysing everything now.

BabyG123 · 08/07/2020 08:37

I'd go to a and e. Get answers much faster. They'll also take bloods for hcg 🤞🏼

Grumpy19 · 08/07/2020 08:48

Hi. Just spoken to them again and they've booked me in for a scan tomorrow but said to phone back if things get worse.

OP posts:
Veeeeee · 08/07/2020 08:54

I would totally just go get it checked out as it will help you to feel better :)
I understand how stressful it can be, I have had bleeding from brown to red for 6 weeks (from 14 weeks pregnant) and everything with the baby seems to be fine and they don't know why the bleeding. I hope everything is ok for you and settles down quickly.

niki26 · 08/07/2020 08:59

Gosh I'm sorry you are going through this - it is so scary isn't it. As a PP said, unfortunately none of us have the answers but I know from when this happened to me at 9 weeks that a lot of us have bleeding and it can be fine.

I passed a large blood clot and then was having gushes of bright red blood. I was sobbing, thinking the worse but a scan 4 days later showed an area of bleeding under the baby. I had gone to a&e - as advised when we phoned the hospital - as the blood was so much we were sure something must be really badly wrong and I had to wait there, bleeding for about 5 hours and didn't get a scan - so I would actually try to avoid going in if you have your scan booked for tomorrow. In my experience you wouldn't get a scan quicker just by going to a&e but of course call them back if the bleeding gets worse. I had to throw my underwear and tights away at the hospital as they were so ruined.

I really hope all ok for you - my red blood turned brown that evening and I had some more brown blood for the next few days and again when my period was due for the next two months.

Grumpy19 · 08/07/2020 09:08

@niki26 thank you.
Did you find out what caused the bleeding?
