@Firstmummytobe hope everything is going well!!

@squashie34 I’ve just received my hot tea mama, will maybe try a cup later. The bags smell amazing, do they taste as good as they smell? 🤣

squashie34 · 14/07/2020 15:30

@BabyG08 I put a small drop of honey in my tea too and I think it tastes amazing as it's a little bit seeeter! 😍

sugarplumfairy2010 · 14/07/2020 16:07

I've been drinking raspberry leaf tea for a couple of weeks now bought from Holland and Barrett. Have taken it in my previous pregnancies and my 1st I pushed for an hour and the next 2 less than 5/10 minutes so hopefully it helped no harm trying it. I don't like the taste so I make it up in a pint let it go cold add blackcurrant juice and loads of ice cubes and you can't taste it.x

Newmama29 · 14/07/2020 16:12

When is it safe to start drinking raspberry leaf tea? I’ve just ordered the ultimate gift set from hot tea mama as they all looked too good to try!!

sel2223 · 14/07/2020 16:14

@Newmama29 35 weeks I think it is

Newmama29 · 14/07/2020 16:21

@sel2223 thank you! I’ve still got another week then, that’s plenty of time for my delivery to come lol!

I’ve also heard them mention clary sage essential oil is really effective at inducing labour. Does anyone have any experience with this?

JMill13 · 14/07/2020 16:29

@superscientist all seems back to normal 🙈 went and got my hair done & baby hasn't stopped moving since 😂 obviously just having a lazy quiet day yesterday/this morning, swear they do it on purpose to drive us all crazy.

cannotmakemymindup · 14/07/2020 16:36

If anybody wants a happy cry I just had the best surprise from friends. One dropped of some hampers of baby stuff and pampering for me that was totally unexpected. She had said she just wanted to drop a little something off but it was so much more than that!! My friends had organised and all chipped in together to do something for me.

I read it's recommended from 32 weeks. It doesn't induce labour just strengthens the uterus making pushing more efficient apparently x

JMill13 · 14/07/2020 16:57

@cannotmakemymindup omg that's so sweet and cute 😍❤️ best friends ever. Enjoy your hamper!

squashie34 · 14/07/2020 17:23

@Newmama29 you can take the 'final push tea' that's in the pamper pack from 32 weeks! ☺️

I've heard of clary sage and did have a bottle in my hospital bag (although won't need it now) but I know they say don't use it to smell or put in a burner until you are full term (37 weeks) and I know some say not even until you are in established labour? So not too sure but it's meant to stimulate the uterus to contact x

MamaFirst · 14/07/2020 17:29

@cannotmakrmymindup aw that's so lovely, what sweet friends.

@squashie34 I used clary sage in the bath for all of my pregnancies, but I wonder if it is responsible for the incredibly quick and agonising labour I had, given that it was my third. I won't use anything this time, but first babies especially I think it helps. I never used raspberry tea leaf.

Newmama29 · 14/07/2020 17:41

@squashie34 @MamaFirst so with clary sage do you burn it, put it in bath, just sniff it out the bottle? What do you actually do with it 🙈

WorriedButterfly · 14/07/2020 18:12

Hope everything is progressing well @Firstmummytobe, thinking of you.

Sorry to be behind on chat - can those of you with Haakas help me with what to buy to store the milk please? Are you going to pour it into a sterile bag/bottle? I'm making it such hard work in my head! 🙄

Havlerr · 14/07/2020 18:45

I don’t usually drink teas so got raspberry leaf tablets instead. They taste like mud though! So now wishing I’d got the tea and had it cold with juice like @sugarplumfairy2010 what a brill idea.

@WorriedButterfly I’m also doing the same thing and over complicating it in my head! I have some sample packs of Lansinoh breast milk freezer bags which I got for free (I think from Emma’s diary? I’ve been collecting freebiesBlush) so think I will use them first and if they’re a faff get some bottles. Another overthinking thought - if you use the haaka during night feeds does this mean you have to traipse downstairs to the fridge/freezer to put the milk away?? Seems like too much work! If that’s the case maybe it’s worth investing in a mini drinks fridge for next to my bed which will also be handy for snacks at night😂😂

JMill13 · 14/07/2020 18:57

@worriedbutterfly oh balls, I forgot I was going to need storage bottles after using the haakaa 😂😂🙈
I really need to get my shit together.

Everyone keeps asking what we need so they can buy us gifts that we actually need instead of just winging it and I keep saying we have everything but I'm really unsure if I actually have everything. Like, what if I've forgotten something important.

sel2223 · 14/07/2020 19:00

Super happy to get a date for my ELCS today. It feels so weird having an 'end date' to count down to! 3 weeks on friday!! Sh** just got real!

Then just as I'm on the phone telling my mother the news, I get this sudden horrendous pain in my left bum cheek and round into my groin which sent electric shocks down my leg and made me literally yelp. Anyone else had this? It only lasted about 30 seconds.
Pregnancy pains are so weird!

sel2223 · 14/07/2020 19:01

@cannotmakemymindup that is so lovely! What thoughtful friends you've got!

@Newmama29 sorry for the duff information!

squashie34 · 14/07/2020 19:15

I've also just got some of those lansinoh bags too.. thought I would just pour it into the bag and then put it in the fridge.. never even bloody thought about nighttime 🙈 this breastfeeding lark seems SO confusing 😩

Firstmummytobe · 14/07/2020 19:41

Update, I’m 2cm dilated, getting my waters mechanically broken in 2 and a half hours then being moved to delivery suite, the induction worked😁😁
Just had a sweep, I’ll leave that one there 🤣
Contractions are coming pretty strong now and every 6/7 minutes so hopefully there doing a good job of dilating me and hopefully little man could be here by tomorrow🙈🙈💙

squashie34 · 14/07/2020 20:06

@Firstmummytobe awww thank you for the update, so excited for you! 💙💙 keep going mamma you've totally got this and will soon get to meet your little man!

JMill13 · 14/07/2020 20:18

Beau2020 · 14/07/2020 20:55
