When did your first baby arrive?

Hi everyone,

I will be 35 weeks pregnant on Wednesday, it's my first. Knowing that it could technically take another 7 weeks for us to meet the baby makes me really impatient. I know for the first baby it usually takes longer before they come out. I know it's somewhat stupid to think about that, the longer they cook the better and you shouldn't rush things, but I'm so excited now and can't wait.

So my question is just this, which week did your first baby arrive? Thanks xx

37+5. Waters went spectacularly on 37+4. Waited 24 hours and then was given a hand and was induced.

I was still attending work but luckily my waters went just before I left for the office.

39 weeks. Waters went at 38+5 and then had a failed induction which resulted in an EMCS. Much calmer than it sounds though. Good luck!

4 days before the official due date. I was not expecting it at all.

At my hypnobirthing class we were told to think about a due month rather than due date so as not to fixate on a certain day.

40+4. I was induced because I had pre-eclampsia although he was huge (turned out to be 9lb 2oz) so I wanted him out anyway, I was enormous and so uncomfortable.

Following with interest, I have been telling myself I'm due 2 weeks after EDD just to prepare for the worst but it seems as many here have gone early as late! 🤞🏼
