When did your first baby arrive?

Hi everyone,

I will be 35 weeks pregnant on Wednesday, it's my first. Knowing that it could technically take another 7 weeks for us to meet the baby makes me really impatient. I know for the first baby it usually takes longer before they come out. I know it's somewhat stupid to think about that, the longer they cook the better and you shouldn't rush things, but I'm so excited now and can't wait.

So my question is just this, which week did your first baby arrive? Thanks xx

40+3.. waters broke and went into labour on the due date. Needless to say was a long process and the baby was pretty stuck but came out eventuallySmile

AlphaDalpha · 22/06/2020 15:28

33 weeks so you've missed my boat!

Lazydaisydaydream · 22/06/2020 15:30

With my first I loved looking at this each day and seeing what the odds were of having him that day haha (he was born 40+2)

37+4, had reflexology and a pregnancy back massage at 37 weeks and lost my mucus plug that night, then went into labour 37+3. I'm 27 weeks pregnant with DD now and I'm hoping that everywhere will be open again in 10 weeks as I'll be going back for another massage at 37 weeks

40+2. Waters went 7am on my due date, didn't go in to labour but had to wait 24 hours before being induced. Then it was another 28 hours before he arrived.

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 22/06/2020 15:44

Started in labour at 40+5 and he was born at 40+7

Scubalubs87 · 22/06/2020 15:44

39 + 3 but labour started spontaneously the day before. I really wanted him to hang in for a few more days over the weekend so we could finish installing our new kitchen but he was in a hurry.

Zoomintheroom · 22/06/2020 15:47

42+1. Waters broke at 41+4.

BabyLlamaZen · 22/06/2020 15:47

41+1
Appreciate the time. Every day means baby is getting stronger and more ready to come out (anything before 40 is pretty early!) I wouldnt have wanted induction either.

BabyLlamaZen · 22/06/2020 15:48

I read somewhere that if you take away planned c sections, a lot of births are actually at 41 weeks.

ReginaPhalange89 · 22/06/2020 15:49

I have 3 and my first was the only early one!
1st - 39+5
2nd - 4 days late
3rd - 13 days late !!

Had to be induced with #3. Lucky for me they were all quick & easy . The not knowing when it's going to happen is very daunting , especially first time round . Good luck!

june2007 · 22/06/2020 15:53

34+5. second 34+2. know actually reason they just decided it was time. (the babies that is.)

cliffdiver · 22/06/2020 15:54

40+4

mynameisntlouise · 22/06/2020 15:56

My first arrived 40 weeks exactly, my second arrived 40+4.

The average pregnancy length is 40+5 days.

Every pregnancy is different and baby will come when it's ready, yadayada, you know it's true but it still makes that 5 week window of 37-42 weeks unbearable. Try not to count the days, it makes it worse.

Tiredmum100 · 22/06/2020 17:29

36 weeks to the day. Waters broke 34 weeks to the day but my labour didn't start for another 2 weeks.. looking back I don't think it was good to go 2 weeks with my waters continually leaking but it was Christmas time so maybe I was over looked.

mintich · 22/06/2020 17:36

42+1 for my first, 39 weeks for 2nd

IamC · 22/06/2020 18:02

Not yet given birth myself, but I was born at 32 weeks. That makes me a little nervous in case it runs in the family.

mummaminnie · 22/06/2020 18:21

40+3

I had a stretch and sweep at 40+1 as I was already half a centimetre dilated. I went into labour the following evening and DD was born early the next morning by c-section

ChanklyBore · 22/06/2020 18:22

42 weeks and 3 days. Not induced.

Babdoc · 22/06/2020 18:30

Exactly a week early - ruining our last romantic weekend together before she was due! She was kicking with annoyance while we were having sex, and my waters broke immediately afterwards. I swear she did it on purpose!
She’s 30 now, and we have forgiven her... Grin

mrsc1987 · 22/06/2020 18:45

37+6. Water broke spontaneously at 37+5 and I was induced 2 hours later due to gestational diabetes and reduced movement. He arrived the next night.

MsMeNz · 22/06/2020 18:47

3 weeks early with a movie style water breaking at work, I sat there for two hours leaking amniotic fluid allover trying to do a last minute hand over 🙄😁 it was fine though wasn't born for about 7 or so hours after that.

Spanglebangle · 22/06/2020 18:50

39 weeks exactly.

DramaAlpaca · 22/06/2020 18:52

39+2, spontaneous labour

Grumpy19 · 22/06/2020 18:58

42 + 2 following induction.
