When did your first baby arrive?

Hi everyone,

I will be 35 weeks pregnant on Wednesday, it's my first. Knowing that it could technically take another 7 weeks for us to meet the baby makes me really impatient. I know for the first baby it usually takes longer before they come out. I know it's somewhat stupid to think about that, the longer they cook the better and you shouldn't rush things, but I'm so excited now and can't wait.

So my question is just this, which week did your first baby arrive? Thanks xx

35 weeks at home and in the middle of an almighty thunderstorm. Baby girl 3Ib 6 oz. She was like a little dolly but with a healthy set of lungs.

MamaFirst · 22/06/2020 19:25

39+2 after teasing us with five days of slooooow contractions.

ChrisPrattsFace · 22/06/2020 19:29

38+5 and a very very very very fast labour.
This was after being told by literally everyone that it would be a very long labour because it was my first.

Thegirlhasnoname · 22/06/2020 19:37

36+6

LadySlipper11 · 22/06/2020 19:50

39+3. Spontaneous labour but I did have a sweep at my midwife appointment 2 days before.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 22/06/2020 19:52

DS1 day after due date (by 1 hr)
DS2 day before due date

My kids are pretty punctual 😂

LusciousV · 22/06/2020 20:06

I had an ELCS booked for my due date but my waters broke at 39+2 and I had baby 3.5hrs later by emergency c-section as labour was progressing quickly x

Britannah · 22/06/2020 20:09

41 + 4 after an induction due to reduced movements. I know it’s easier said than done but looking back now I wish I enjoyed those last few weeks a little more but I was feeling so impatient and just wanted him to arrive xx

Bexy1393 · 22/06/2020 20:16

39+4 spontaneous labour. Currently 31 weeks with baby number 2 and hoping the same thing happens this time!

Rushhomeroad · 22/06/2020 20:19

41 + 1 (fully engaged from 34 week appt!)

Survivingmy3yearold · 22/06/2020 20:33

38+2 Smile

ShutUpaYourFace · 22/06/2020 20:53

Both my pregnancy's were identical. 3 years apart. Both arrived at 36 weeks, both before my actual maternity leave started. Both were born 9lbs exactly. With both of them my waters went in the middle of the night, both ended up as emergency C section. Both had a full head of very dark hair.
Glad I didn't go full term with them!

They look identical now, except for the height. Eldest is 8 & youngest just turned 5.

7dayslater · 22/06/2020 21:02

41 weeks exactly

Inthesky42 · 22/06/2020 21:07

41+6 after induction! I wish I had taken more time to do what I wanted in those last few weeks rather than wishing the time away. Life is so different post baby. It's lovely, but so very different!

weegiemum · 22/06/2020 21:19

39+3, spontaneous labour. First contractions 6am in the Saturday, born 6pm on the Sunday, she was back to back and 9lb12oz so I'm glad she decides to come when she did.

My others just got earlier and earlier!
