Sorry to read you've had a dusting spell @roro87, take it easy! especially if you start to get light headed you can just go down, if your blood pressure is low then this is something that happens as well. Always lay down for bloods and extra careful on all stairs!

Pregnancy is such a drain on your resources, we all need as much calm and rest as humanly possible

@Beccarans89 oh my god! That is such a supprise, I bet you didn't believe what you were hearing initially. I would feel really thrown as well, which ever way the mistake is made, boy becomes girl, or girl becomes boy, you've gone into that mode of which gender to expect and visualise. The scan place are supposed to offer a free scan if they get it wrong usually so get your freebie, demand your freebie so you'll get an extra peek at him

@roro87 fainting not dusting

I had my 20 week scan this morning and delighted that everything is okay with out baby! They did have to send me away to eat something sugary then brought me back in so that they could get a proper look at baby's face 😂. I did ask her if she would write the gender down and put it in an envelope so we could use it as validation after our private scan on the 12th where we will find out the gender together, but they wouldn't do it.

@NaomiB79 super cute scan photo! Such a relief to have had the scan and be looking ahead with excitement and that reassurance now 👣👣

ChampooPapi · 01/07/2020 13:18

@NaomiB79 do you have a feeling it's a boy or a girl?

OP posts:
Pinktruffle · 01/07/2020 13:21

@Beccarans89 this also happened to my next door neighbour only they didn't find out that it was actually a boy until the baby was born! They had decorated the outside of the house with 'it's a girl' banners and balloons and had bought lots of pink and traditionally gender specific clothing which the baby wore for the first 6 months of his life!
I don't tend to subscribe to the 'pink for girls' 'blue for boys' myself but I know lots of the neighbours were very confused till they spoke to them and discovered what had happened!

Beccarans89 · 01/07/2020 13:40

@pinktruffle oh wow really? Yes I can imagine that was way more of a shock! The nurse did say yesterday that it happens more often than you think! 😄 At least it's a funny story to tell them when they're older isn't it!

@ChampooPapi that's exactly it, we had just got used to it being a girl but it's now starting to sink in that it's a boy! We didn't have a preference at all, but like you say it's just adjusting your thoughts again isn't it! I did email the private clinic and they are scanning me tomorrow free of charge just to confirm so will be lovely to have another look and get final clarification! I think my husband needs to see the boy bits himself to believe it 😂 if they say girl again I'm going to give up and just see what comes out haha!

Hope everyone is doing ok! X

ChampooPapi · 01/07/2020 13:56

@Beccarans89 yes brill, or exact the same and be onto that clinic for my extra scan! It's also like now you've had both, you kind of need a third for absolute mental clarification 😆

OP posts:
ChampooPapi · 01/07/2020 13:56

*I'd be exactly the same

OP posts:
NaomiB79 · 01/07/2020 13:59

@ChampooPapi I'm not sure we've always said 'she' or 'her' when we've spoken of having a baby even before I was pregnant but I think I have more of the signs of a boy.

Happy if anyone wants to guess?

RestorationInsanity · 01/07/2020 14:30

Have absolutely no previous evidence of getting scans right but based on the skull, I'm going to say boy @NaomiB79!

danielasummer · 01/07/2020 14:43

Hi @ChampooPapi sending you a virtual hug back 😘 I'm 17 weeks today, have been taking weekly bump shots and definitely feeling rather large at the moment but I'm very very happy to keep getting bigger and growing this little pickle!! We have our 20 week (where I'll be 19 weeks) scan on the 15th July so just focusing on that now really. We moved into our new house a few weeks ago and time seems to have flown! How are you doing? Have you felt any movement yet? I do read every single message on this thread but finding it hard to keep up.. I feel like I really know everyone now though, thank you for starting such a supportive thread for all of these lovely women, for us to experience the ups and downs of this journey together 💓

Ladies has anyone got any suggestions for stretch mark prevention. This is my first and the women in my family got stretch marks and I got them quite bad when I was a teenager. So I am kind of doomed but I would at least would like to prevent them from being too bad. I am currently using Neals Yard mothers balm.. anything you guys swear by?

ChampooPapi · 01/07/2020 18:22

Anyone got a spare few thou 😆

I went into a sleepyhead internet hole and discovered these

Same women who designed the sleepyhead, whatever you do don't start googling her, her lifestyle is fairly envy inducing plus she is very very tiny and tanned. This is not what a very large pale and skint me needed to see 😂

NaomiB79 · 01/07/2020 18:27

@Babyhope98 my friend swore by Bio Oil to prevent stretch marks.

ChampooPapi · 01/07/2020 18:33

@danielasummer fantastic and beautiful bump! Great lounge wear too 💞. Perfect to have moved and start nesting soon, the next few weeks are going to just melt away, I think buying a few things or just researching them really helps with this too. Unless it's on the sleepyhead woman, she is banned 😆 dam her. Still no movement really at all but I know ones placenta is anterior and they must be more squashed I suppose. It is odd though having two and not feeling anything, over 19 weeks now. I wobbled yesterday and phoned the midwives and said 'look I know it's all normal but can we listen to these babies' and they said come on down to Paignton hospital (never heard of the place either!). She found the heartbeats and obviously took blood, god knows why, but seems bloods must be done at every physical meeting in these times. I kind of hoping they find a b12 deficiency as then I'll get to have b12 injections like I'm a Beverly hills princess darling 💃. Always wanted these and they are expensive to get privately. I can't believe we are here in this stage of our journeys now, I'll never forget your smep thread, I will definitely be reading it through again when I'm doing those night feeds 💜💜

What do people think of the day night perfect Prep compared to the original one? Is it worth the extra money? I need one for twins if I'm mixed bottle feeding

I've been eyeing these up @ChampooPapi they look amazing with good reviews. As a FTM I'm not sure if I will breast feed or not, but if I don't I'm definitely getting one of these

Babyhope98 · 01/07/2020 19:50

Just had stomach cramps right after eating and was sick but think that was from sweating from the cramps for a poo. The pain is starting to get better after pooing and diarrhoea. (Sorry tmi) I hope I don’t have food poisoning I’ve tried to be careful with my food 😔 I’ve been scared to get anything because of risks to the baby so now I’m panicking waaaah

Amyyy1 · 01/07/2020 20:24

@ChampooPapi Think I almost gave my DP a heart attack showing him that bassinet and price.... I think he was waiting for me to ask him if we could get one🤣🤣
