@excitednerves exactly the same as us were going from London to Liverpool so are condensing everything we have and will just buy once we've moved in! But I want it all now 😂😂

Thanks @firstbabybell im very sore still but am using the lovely gel packs @ChampooPapi suggested which is a life saver!
OH has taken day of work to help with DS as well xx

nearlyamummyof2boys · 26/06/2020 10:56

@ChampooPapi I agree roll on July I have good feelings about it!
Plus it's mine and hubby's birthdays 🎈

excitednerves · 26/06/2020 10:58

@ChampooPapi thanks for having with July! I’m back to work, 20 week scan, no nursery open (still!) so I need all the help I can get in July!

I did however get a buggy. I went Bugaboo Donkey in the end. A little bargain off FB but now I want ALL of the accessories! Ha ha. It never ends

nearlyamummyof2boys · 26/06/2020 11:00

Oo lovely @excitednerves

Quick question on the buggy front people with double buggies (newborn and toddler) I can't decide between side by side or tandem. I like that the tandem you can just take the front off and use the stroller once toddler can walk - but I worry about them being top heavy.

excitednerves · 26/06/2020 11:25

@nearlyamummyof2boys I went side by side as I just didn’t like the idea of not being able to see one baby properly, or one child having to look at the bottom of the other’s seat. Maybe it’s not as bad as that in real life, just my perception.

My friend has a donkey and says it’s no wider than a standard wheelchair so she’s never had any issues with shops or doorways.

I expect I’ll use mine for a year or so then sell it on again when DS1 is a more confident walker. I’m holding on to my single buggy, and maybe get him a buggy board or something.

nearlyamummyof2boys · 26/06/2020 11:53

Thanks @excitednerves yeah I agree with you on that totally.
I'm keeping my stroller it's a silver cross one and was on sale in John Lewis - it folds into a cabin bag and is amazing!
I also saw on the side by side buggies you can put a shopping bag type thing when one baby starts walking which looks really handy

Hi ladies well booked a well being +plus gender scan excited plus scared at the same time it's not till the 6th that is the earliest they have even though I prefer as I'll be 17+1 then not very happy at all with the care I am getting texted my midwife to ask a question had nothing back at all so my faith isn't great when they call me on the 7th I'm going to ask if my partner cant come to my consultation can I have it over the phone instead if all it's going to be is a chat of course if they want to do measurements etc I'll have to go in but am hoping they have changed rules and can say he can come

ChampooPapi · 26/06/2020 12:43

@nearlyamummyof2boys those packs are a wonder for so many things, I predominantly walked around with them stapled to my head during the May bad head times, they just seem to draw out the pain.

Great little thread for anyone who's going to be a first time mum or who like myself just likes reading about the cute newborn stage 👣👣

@excitednerves ooo the donkey is supposed to be brill. The duet and the donkey are the most highest rated it seems generally for a double. I think one on the top the other is a bit of a funny one, they seem to come up a lot online second hand nearly new so I think a lot of people regret getting those type. The child at the bottom has no view of the world poor thing in them!

@Kj1010 sorry you are having a tough time with your appointments. Can I ask where you are going for your well-being + scan? We have been to meet your miracle for a private scan, but they can't tell you anything medical so this would be something we would be interested in doing

Just been to see a lovely midwife. Everything was ok and I got to hear baby's heartbeat. She told me to be positive about the NIPT result. I'm trying! Result due anytime 🤞

nearlyamummyof2boys · 26/06/2020 12:53

That is a gorgeous thread @ChampooPapi I had to add my 2 cents as well 🥰😍

Kj1010 · 26/06/2020 12:56

@confused107 thankyou I know quite disappointed tbh but hayho what can you do and we are going to window to the woman in bexley heath I went there wen I had miscarriage and they were absolutely brilliant when the nhs wasnt kind compassionate calm xx

Kj1010 · 26/06/2020 12:57

@confused107 I have everything crossed for you hun xx

nearlyamummyof2boys · 26/06/2020 12:59

That sounds like a good idea @Kj1010 I find the NHS so up and down.
Some midwives & nurses are so compassionate and kind and others are the complete opposite!
I've always found the community midwives lovely.

Kj1010 · 26/06/2020 12:59

@confused107 sorry bloody phone window to the womb

nearlyamummyof2boys · 26/06/2020 12:59

Good luck for your results @confused107 thinking of you.

confused107 · 26/06/2020 13:04

Thanks @nearlyamummyof2boys and @Kj1010 I'm in Staffordshire so pretty sure there is a window to the womb nearish. I will look them up

Kj1010 · 26/06/2020 13:06

@confused107 awww good they are lovely there

roro87 · 26/06/2020 13:59

I have my well being and gender scan tomorrow will be 18w on the dot so hoping they can tell. Was very nervous but after hearing such a strong heartbeat at app yesterday has put my mind a little at ease although I know they can still find things. Will update you all tomorrow on how it goes. Thankfully it is in the morning

EithneBlue · 26/06/2020 14:27

It's so humid here now... I was honestly doing OK with the heat -- it's the humidity that's really killing me. Time for another ice lolly. It's not going to rain until tomorrow according to the weather.

@ChampooPapi - that newborn thread made me smile - I'm weirdly looking forward to that stage (although not so much the lack of sleep!) :)

Pinktruffle · 26/06/2020 15:52

Good luck with the results @confused107. There is a Window to the womb in Tamworth if that's anywhere near you

confused107 · 26/06/2020 16:10

Is there @Pinktruffle? We are in Lichfield so been going to meet your miracle in Tamworth. The window to your womb website lists my closest as Birmingham

Pinktruffle · 26/06/2020 16:18

I go to the Birmingham one. There definitely was one in Tamworth, it may have possibly closed? I tried to book the Tamworth one previously when I couldn't get an appointment at Birmingham (my previous pregnancy which I miscarried) @confused107

confused107 · 26/06/2020 16:35

Thanks @Pinktruffle. I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage
