I am so envying your heat right now it was a mere 16 degrees here today so completely bareable. Have my 16 week app tomorrow they told me to have all my questions ready when I go. feel I've a kidney infection

Pinktruffle · 24/06/2020 22:02

It was 30 here today, 32 tomorrow! The downstairs of our house is great and stays really cool but upstairs is a stuffy nightmare so I'm currently in bed feeling like I'm baking in an oven.

peachypetite · 25/06/2020 07:10

Omg the heat last night, feel like I tossed and turned constantly! Hoping it’s not going to be like this when we are much bigger, imagine!

Hi ladies checking back in, its been a while... 10 pages on the last thread and 16 on here! I can see the rollercoaster continues and was sad to read a number of the posts. I admire your strength ladies and encourage you to keep positive and focus on the good energy for the rest of the journey. Not much to report here, I think this gap between 12 and 20 week scan might be worse than the wait for the 12 week one! My bump is starting to come but it’s mostly above my belly button so I guess it’s still all bloat. I was looking forward to constipation moving on but no such joy yet.
I’m hoping it feels more real soon. 17 weeks today- still not told many people yet nor work... in my mind I’m holding out for the 20 week scan but not sure why.
Anyway lovely to see all the bumps.... roll on 20 weeks!!! Best wishes to you all Star

MummyShark97 · 25/06/2020 08:49

@peachypetite tell me about it - so uncomfortable !!

roro87 · 25/06/2020 09:21

I'm not sure who mentioned dry skin a while back but it has really hit me even though I moisturise most days my legs and arms are flaking away I think ill need to up my game to twice a day.

PipTed · 25/06/2020 09:59

@excitednerves great news about the house!

I know exactly the ones you’re talking about! I’ve been eyeing the asos Cycling short things up for a while, wondering if I actually need them, but the time has come I feel!

@roro87 I’ve been getting dry skin too and I’ve been using palmers vitamin e lotion, which has made my skin silky smooth.

With the weather being so warm, slapping palmers lotion and sun cream allover my body Isn’t the best combo, though - it is just turning me into a slippery, sweaty and chafing mess! Talc between the legs/thighs is my go to solution at the moment.

Not sure when the blooming/glowing starts? Unless that’s code for perma-sweat.

Babyhope98 · 25/06/2020 10:47

Anyone getting shooting pains in their vagina, having it a lot today 🤔

peachypetite · 25/06/2020 10:51

@babyhope98 yes! It’s called lightning crotch and is more common nearer the end of pregnancy but can occur any time. I’ve had it a couple of evenings and it’s quite painful :(

roro87 · 25/06/2020 10:53

Had my 16 week appointment with the loveliest midwife ever. got to hear the heartbeat and as baby was trying to dodge it so much could feel movement too. Have a problem with my kidneys not quite an infection but needs to be watched

EithneBlue · 25/06/2020 11:07

I think I'm too scruffy by nature to bloom or glow. Although a haircut would help... my hair is now so dry and split it's knotting up constantly - most disappointingly, I now have to brush it daily. My hair salon isn't open for online bookings yet, but I am keeping a very close eye on it!

Pinktruffle · 25/06/2020 11:11

@Babyhope98 I get them every couple of days. They aren't a lot of fun

ChampooPapi · 25/06/2020 11:57

@Awkes fantastic bump shot! You look gorgeous 😘😘

Those thigh things @excitednerves are cycling shorts and they are EVERYTHING. I lived in them the last few summers, pregnant or not pregnant. It's nice not to flash people as well as you've actually got a gusset compared to the revealing nature of the maternity floaty skirt or dress that keeps getting shorter due to your expanding middle area!

Plus sitting with your legs wide open like a man is so much more comfortable!

@nearlyamummyof2boys yes to the bioderm! All bioderm is basically amazing, the French just know how to do things don't they?. Your scan is the day after mine, we are going to be a little crazy by next week arnt we? I may have already sucombed to scanxiety obsession I'm afraid to admit. How are you feeling about the new house? I hope your being very well looked after still, you have been through so much and you have been so strong and brave, and now a house move on top! I can't wait to see another update on your baby boy and how he's getting on, just keep us in the loop lovely 💜💜

Also some thread public health announcement... Ahem.. clears throat... All you ladies should be wearing factor 30 at least on your face and bodies, especially the face and reapply it every two hours!.

Pigmentation is such a nightmare and so expensive to fade or get rid off post pregnancy, take it from a woman who has been lasered on many occasions for this very thing!

The sun is now your enemy 🙏

A good hat however unstylish is also essential. I look like Mrs doubtfire in mine but needs must 🙄. It's a wide brim and I will look like a dalmatian post baby otherwise

peachypetite · 25/06/2020 12:23

I run my own business on the side of my day job and things have been booming the last couple of weeks which has meant no time for scanxiety thankfully! I love the sun but this is far too hot to sit in.

nearlyamummyof2boys · 25/06/2020 12:26

Hi all,
Bit of a whirlwind morning, I woke up with terrible morning sickness and felt a bit dizzy - I then proceeded to fall all the way down my very steep stairs.
Felt ok but the pain in my back is getting worse and worse - have just spoken to my midwife and I'm going in for an emergency scan
I feel like everything is ok with the baby but of course want to be safe with everything that has happened.
Am also in incredible pain and the bottom of my spin so want to check that out!
Just waiting for OH to get home

nearlyamummyof2boys · 25/06/2020 12:29

Thanks @ChampooPapi for your lovely message!
I'm really hoping all is ok and just trying to think of it as a chance to see my baby again 💙

Amyyy1 · 25/06/2020 12:36

@nearlyamummyof2boys Oh bless you, hope you are ok. That's not a good start to the day. It's good you are going in to be checked just for extra reassurance! X

nearlyamummyof2boys · 25/06/2020 12:43

Thanks @Amyyy1 I have to say the midwife was brilliant on the phone and so glad they said I could come in.

NaomiB79 · 25/06/2020 13:49

@nearlyamummyof2boys that must've been so scary and painful! I'm glad you are being seen so quickly. Hope you are feeling better soon and everything goes well with the scan at the hospital x

nearlyamummyof2boys · 25/06/2020 14:38

Babies heart beat is good and strong!
Thanks goodness.
Just waiting to see the doctor about my lower back as is soooo sore!
💙💙💙

Amyyy1 · 25/06/2020 15:37

@nearlyamummyof2boys That's good news! Babies are quite well protected in there😁 Hope the doctors can do something to offer a bit of relief for your back
