@PipTed I hope everything went well for you today.

@jojanna I obviously can’t see into the future but I think you’ll feel very differently about your own baby stage than you do looking at other people’s. I have always loved babies but I was totally surprised by how (over)protective I felt when it was my own. Like letting other people have a cuddle was so hard even though I’d have totally expected it with other people’s kids. It’s so different having your own, so I think you’ll be absolutely fine.

PipTed · 23/06/2020 22:53

@excitednerves thank you. The scan itself went really well! Had no issues and don’t need consultant care, now classed as low risk pregnancy which is a big relief.

I even got a bonus scan and pic 😊

Did have a urine test where protein and ketones were found, so not sure what that means for me. Thankfully blood pressure was on the low side, though.

@jojanna I’m not really a baby person either, but as excitednerves says, I think it is very different when you have your own. I’m sure you’ll be great.

MummyShark97 · 23/06/2020 23:08

@roro87 Awh I do know exactly what you mean as I felt the same and also everyone but my husband thought it was a girl! Then after I just felt so happy and excited to be welcoming a little boy into the world and it really does feel perfect to be having a little boy as the first of a few children we hope to have Smile

excitednerves · 23/06/2020 23:09

@pipted that’s wonderful news, and an extra peek at baby is always a treat! Fingers crossed the urine results are straightforward too.

Pinktruffle · 24/06/2020 10:30

@RestorationInsanity I k ow exavtly what you mean! I had bleeding in early pregnancy and no one wanted to scan me, I felt like I just couldn't get them to understand how huge being pregnant was for me. It also one of the reasons I really feel for my DH in missing out on all the scans etc because this may be it for us. I've had a natural pregnancy 18 months ago but it ended in miscarriage so in theory there is still chance for us to have another (along with 3 frozen embryos) but at 37, I know that the odds are very much against us. I was very lucky and got pregnant on my first round of IVF so I feel it would be really pushing my luck for it to work first time next time too! I wish they had let me transfer 2 embryos.

confused107 · 24/06/2020 10:50

@RestorationInsanity and @Pinktruffle I completely empathise with all you are saying. My husband said last night he feels like he is running a race with loads of hurdles, you get over one and then run straight into the next one. I hope we can soon relax into 'normal' pregnancies. Hug hugs x

Pinktruffle · 24/06/2020 10:57

Hugs to you too @confused107. Come November all this anxiety will hopefully be a distant memory and we be discussing our newborns sleeping habits xx

I am feeling more positive today, everyone's support here, a walk and a good nights sleep has really helped.

StephRae · 24/06/2020 11:50

Hi how’s everyone doing, I’m officially 18 weeks! Thankfully feeling better today but the last couple days were rough, my back pain was really playing up!

👣 Due late Nov/Dec, it's bump time ladies! 👣
RestorationInsanity · 24/06/2020 11:55

@confused107 and @Pinktruffle am sorry you're going through some of the same things, it's not spoiling the experience but it is making it much more stressful than I expected. It's hard as well because each time you see or speak to a different midwife or sonographer they either don't know or don't read my history and I feel I do need to explain it as it's a big part of my pregnancy.

I've got my call with the midwife at 1.20 today. I've made a little list of things to ask/that need to be changed on my notes etc. Am hoping having some contact will put me at ease again and I really want to get my next scan date as the whole thing just feels really nebulous otherwise!

peachypetite · 24/06/2020 13:18

Good luck @RestorationInsanity. Pregnancy really is one big anxious waiting game isn’t it!

nearlyamummyof2boys · 24/06/2020 13:34

@StephRae what a gorgeous bump & dress!

My skin was terrible but I feel like now it's so much better then before I was pregnant - I think it's a mixture of the amazing bioderm and not drinking any alcohol!

My sleep is terrible still at the moment but my house move is coming along nice which seems of have giving me a boost of energy this week and the organising of stuff I find so therapeutic!
I've never screenshotted so many products and baby stuff in my life!

My next scan now isn't till July 8th but I might request to go in earlier to get peace of mind 😊

Loving all your bumps and what a lovely scan @lionsmum

nearlyamummyof2boys · 24/06/2020 13:35

Good luck @RestorationInsanity thinking of you ❤️

nearlyamummyof2boys · 24/06/2020 13:37

Is anyone else suddenly thinking we still have so long to go! It suddenly hit me today that I'm only like halfway through.
November seems so far away - which is good to prepare but I'm also so ready to have my little baby and not be pregnant anymore!
I know the last trimester does go quicker (she says hopefully!)

MummyShark97 · 24/06/2020 13:41

@nearlyamummyof2boys

Yes I do know what you mean, it's one of those things where I can feel oh wow halfway and time has flown so much already (granted I didn't know for 5 of those weeks) and then thinking there is so much time to go!

I've just been watching an instagram live by my_expertmidwife and listening to their Q&A which has put me in a really positive mood. It's still going right now!

Awkes · 24/06/2020 14:49

Hope you’re all doing ok ladies! I’ve been really getting into shopping the last couple days. I feel absolutely huge now I’ve hit 17 weeks. Can’t quite believe it but my boobs have gone from a D to an F 😱 really hope they don’t grow anymore. I’m only 5.2”, quite chubby at a size 12-14 which is now more like a 14-16 thanks to lockdown and pregnancy. Between the boobs and the belly my balance is shot, feel like I’m developing a waddle for sure. Anyone else massively suffering with this warm btw? I’ve got 2 fans on and all the windows open 🥵

Anyway I’ve got a scan tomorrow so finally find out boy or girl and I cannot wait!!! ❤️💙

nearlyamummyof2boys · 24/06/2020 15:56

Good luck for tomorrow @Awkes ❤️
I've got a fan blowing on me right now! I'm so hot I can't go out! ☀️☀️☀️

RestorationInsanity · 24/06/2020 16:06

@Awkes lovely bump!

I'm not finding the warmth too bad, but really cannot sit in the full sun, used to be a sunlover but the sunhat is getting full use! Thank god for the trees in the garden too.

Thanks everyone. Call was fine, still no sign of scan so she's going to chase it as I'm 17 weeks on Friday. She said I should start to feel movement in a couple of weeks but I know the NHS website says it can be up to 24 weeks, so I'm not going to become another source of anxiety!

Definitely agree @nearlyamummyof2boys. 23 weeks to go (for me) does seem a lot! I'm one of those hated people that finds the summer tends to drag anyway. I like being warm but always feel lethargic and look forward to when autumn rolls in!

Amyyy1 · 24/06/2020 16:23

@Awkes Good luck tomorrow! 💖💙

I'm really struggling with the heat I'm so glad I am not bigger yet as those that are in 3rd trimester must be even worse!!🥵 Living on rocket lollies still seems the way to go for me 🤣

StephRae · 24/06/2020 16:49

@Awkes you have a lovely bump! Also suffering in this heat, was trying to enjoy the sunshine in the garden but was just far too sweaty and hot 🥵

Awkes · 24/06/2020 18:01

Thanks ladies 😊 it’s supposed to be 30 degrees where I live tomorrow 😭🥵 I’m actually going to melt! Hope we get through this weather soon. Pregnancy and sun doesn’t mix at all

Amyyy1 · 24/06/2020 20:54

Is anyone else losing huge chunks of hair from their head? Think I am going to go bald if this carries on. I thought in pregnancy you stopped losing hair?!

peachypetite · 24/06/2020 21:04

I’ve been shedding loads, every morning when I wake up.

Awkes · 24/06/2020 21:09

Same. Whenever I brush my hair I end up with a layer on the floor and a brush full

PipTed · 24/06/2020 21:10

@excitednerves thank you 😊

This heat! Met a few friends today for a garden gathering and I was dripping with sweat! Also my thighs must have got considerably bigger as the chafe is real! 😩

excitednerves · 24/06/2020 21:29

@nearlyamummyof3 - same here. We had our house survey today (thankfully all ok) and we’ve started packing. Now I’m doing a massive eBay clear out to cover the cost of my double buggy.

@pipted yes to the thigh chafe! I bought some of those thigh length tights things - I have no idea of their real name but I stumbled on them on ASOS maternity section. Total god send.

It was 32 here in London today. Really struggled to keep DS1 cool. Poor little soul.
