Is anyone suffering from really dry skin atm?? I never have before but for a couple of weeks my skin has actually been peeling like a snake shedding its skin it's been awful and then I get super itchy too from how dry everywhere usually! I assume it's pregnancy related just cos it's never been an issue in the past but idk!

Awkes · 20/06/2020 20:51

@Amyyy1 yes but only on my chin. Really dry lips too! Been smothering myself in moisturiser but doesn’t seem to change anything. My skin is a nightmare usually but I’d got a decent regime with it and now it’s all gone out the window. Super scaly dry skin but really oily forehead. Really grateful I’ve not had to leave the house tbh

Amyyy1 · 20/06/2020 21:20

@Awkes I have awful dry lips and then super dry legs and arms! My face otherwise seems to be surviving ok. Don't feel like I could be wearing a dress right now as it looks so bad. I have been slathering on bottles of moisturiser to try and help but not sure if that is helping or making it worse?!😅

roro87 · 20/06/2020 21:24

@Amyyy1 I have had awful oily skin lately usually would be prone to slight dryness

Awkes · 20/06/2020 21:35

I’m so looking forward to them opening hairdressers/salons. Usually very low maintenance and don’t bother with much but 100000% in need of a pamper. Thought I’d be “glowing” but actually just look a mess 😂

MummyShark97 · 20/06/2020 22:01

@Amyyy1 me too! I really really want to get my haircut! Easy for hubby as I can cut his no problem grr!

I've got really dry patches on my chin too.

Had a first sit down thinking up names and I've got Nico and Miles as potentials so far!

lc86 · 20/06/2020 22:04

@MummyShark97 aww I love both those names!!

Awkes · 20/06/2020 22:07

I like both of those! Think nico is on my list too. The OH won’t even discuss names until we’ve had the gender scan 🙄 bloody men. He’s said he likes Elliot so that’s all I’ve got right now

RestorationInsanity · 20/06/2020 22:20

Lovely to find out about all the little girls and boys! Seems like we're leaning towards more boys at the moment?

Think we've decided to book a private scan after the NHS 20 week one so that DH can see the baby.

My boobs have been really hurting again today, and I think I might be producing colostrum already. Keep waking up with yellow sort of stuff (not liquid sort thick/crusty sorry for the TMI!) On and around my nipples. Not everywhere, just on the little bumps.

lc86 · 20/06/2020 23:01

@RestorationInsanity aw no, I'm waiting for that, remember having it around 20 weeks on my second.. the joys lol xx

RestorationInsanity · 20/06/2020 23:10

Weirdly I'm finding the onset of new symptoms slightly reassuring as it keeps me going til the next scan! Would rather have some baby movements but can't have everything so crusty nipples will have to do 😂

lc86 · 20/06/2020 23:29

@RestorationInsanity hahaha indeed, can't have it all 🤣

PipTed · 20/06/2020 23:34

@RestorationInsanity I’ve been getting crusty nipples on and off too! Midwife said it increases/decreases depending on how much water you drink in the day. Kind of makes sense as when I was having it the most I was going through over 2 litres a day.

Can’t remember who said about the dry skin, sorry. I’ve been getting that on my legs since day one. Palmer’s vitamin E body lotion does the trick for me, I’ve been using it on my thighs too to help reduce cellulite and my belly as it’s been growing To try an avoid stretch marks.

Congratulations to everyone on their gender scans today! ❤️

excitednerves · 21/06/2020 05:09

Congratulations on all the gender scans! So exciting. I’m not fussed if we find out or not but DH would like to so we’ll (I’ll) ask at the 20wk scan and if they can tell, great, but if they can’t then I really don’t mind.

excitednerves · 21/06/2020 05:10

I really need my roots done! Can’t wait for the hairdresser to open. I’m naturally blonde but I’ve had highlights to be blonde-er for years and now I’m back to natural blonde I really miss it!

chubbyhotchoc · 21/06/2020 08:16

Another lovely pregnancy symptom has kicked in- waking up in the middle of the night with awful leg cramp. I had this from the second trimester right through with my first. Was hoping to escape it but no last night I'm hoping around the bedroom at 3 am in agony 😭

ChampooPapi · 21/06/2020 08:26

@excitednerves I will legit cry after I have my hair done with pure joy. I am desperate!

I've my hair appointment for the 30th literally can't wait. scan on 27th so will hopefully be a good few days

EithneBlue · 21/06/2020 09:06

OMG The dry skin! I never used to have to moisturise more than once a week (lazy I know) but now if I miss a day I basically have scales.

ChampooPapi · 21/06/2020 09:06

@roro87 I am green with jealousy about your appointment! It's going to feel and look so good afterwards! It may have got to the point where I genuinely am more excited about a possible hair cut in July then my 20 week scan 😆

We're thinking
Thomas Alexander for our boy Tommy for short! We've had that from the start but I'm starting to doubt it - as with everything.
I've adjusted to the idea of one baby now and am starting to get excited about buying baby stuff which is nice.

The new house we bought has a little
Playroom so super stoked to decorate that!

I've had very sore boobs today as well
Congrats to everyone on there scans and gender reveals how exciting it is ❤️❤️

RestorationInsanity · 21/06/2020 14:18

That's lovely @nearlyamummyof3.

My boobs have suddenly got really sore again the past couple of days too.

Also, new weird pregnancy symptom, today it feels like I've got sort of a weird throbbing pressure in my groin. Have googled at it suggests SPD, which given my constant back pain maybe isn't so surprising.

Today we are moving around our bedroom and dressing room, once the builders have finished the loft and the outside of the house they'll be coming back inside to do the rest of the decorating and we're trying to get a sense of furniture/space for baby stuff.

It's weird though, I can go through the motions, but can't really believe we'll be bringing home a baby. Am hoping once I have the next scan I can get excited again.

Today we've

ChampooPapi · 21/06/2020 19:48

@nearlyamummyof3 I think he'd be a very lucky little boy to have either Thomas Alexander or even Alexander Thomas, both lovely names you've both chosen. And when he's here you are not chained to any name, you can try them out for the first week or two (or 5 if your like me with my last!) To see if the name sounds right for the little one. And sounds right saying it even. I love the having no name stage where they are just these nameless beings and you call them different things, its so fun!. I won't be doing that this time, we have decided I reckon ☺️

@nearlyamummyof3 that’s such a lovely name. I’m glad the house is giving you something to focus on too, the playroom sounds amazing!

We’ve been in rented places for the past 6 years so I’m really looking forward to decorating my little boys room when we move - not sure if there will be two little boys in there or if we’ll have to prepare for a sister, but thankfully we’ll find out the sex before we move so I can plan. We’ll have a garden too which will be such a lovely change from living in flats since I moved out of home!
