Oh no @Countrygirlmummy I'm sorry that's happened to you! I really hope that you can find something and quick! Do you have some savings as a back up?

Sorry to hear this @Countrygirlmummy I hope something works out for you.

If anyone needs some advice I can try and help, but my last pregnancy was 4 years ago so I probably don't remember much.

Its such a surreal moment seeing your baby for the first time no matter what number you're on. I'm panicking alittle though as my 4 year old was the one that told me I was pregnant (which was a shock as I knew with both mine before missed period) and the line this time came up dark before I even finished peeing. Then my 5 year old is adament I'm having 2 babies (he may just be saying it) but this pregnancy is totally different to my first 2 which were very similar symptom and craving wise etc.

Whoop whoop. I am due 14th Jan. I am 12 weeks tomorrow, that's going by first day of last period. Am having my first scan tomorrow. So excited. But ultimately so fed up of morning sickness. Cant wait for it to pass.
I'm 32, and this will be my 5th child :)

@Louscarlet I had by 12 week scan yesterday and was soooo anxious before because I have had quite intense cramping pains most days since getting a positive pregnancy test. Everything was totally fine and the baby looked very happy, wriggling around! I feel so much better now that I know it's normal for some people to have lots of pains. Also, I have been particularly anxious so totally understand your worry. I've had quite an ordeal getting to this point (two IVF embryo transfers and 4 chemical pregnancies) and this one ended up happening naturally!!! Anyway, each day you're closer to your scan which will make you feel so much better. In the end I also figured that seeing as I've had these pains for so long, they must be a good sign of the little guy or gal growing! I really hope you feel better about it soon, so worrying. Xxx

Louscarlet · 03/07/2020 23:34

@BecaW23 thank you so much for your kind and reassuring words. The private doctor I saw at my 8wk scan told me not to worry and the pains must just be my ‘normal’ but it’s so hard not to especially as this is my first time and also being an ‘older’ mum.
Congratulations on your 12 wk scan - what a relief. I’m wishing the 2 wks away to the 17th - come on time go quicker!
I certainly still have all the other symptoms like nausea (or extreme hunger!!), sore boobs, fatigue, headaches, occasional dodgy tum, etc etc!! Wow, we really go through so much on top of all the anxiety!! x

Congratulations all!

FTM here and due 18th Jan. It’s all a little bit daunting isn’t it, but so exciting at the same time!

Is anyone else in Wales? Everything I’m reading suggests that partners still won’t be able to attend scans. We did have a private scan at 8w+ 5, but I feel like the 12w scan is a much more important one as it’s hopefully past the danger zone! My 12w scan is on the 8th, so crossing everything that all is OK! Private scan picked up that I have an odd shaped uterus and Dr Google made me worry a bit 🙈.

@LockedDownKnockedUp I love your user name!! Grin
Congratulations! I’m not in Wales (my hubby and mum in law are Welsh and all his crazy family are there!) I’m in Berkshire and for now our rules are the same that no partners are allowed in. I’m gutted as my hubby couldn’t come to the private scan due to work and he would have been able to come in. I’m keeping things crossed things change as I still have a couple of weeks before mine. I’m also making him come with me anyway and wait outside just in case things aren’t as I’m hoping and praying for.
Dr Google is either your best friend or worst enemy. I’ve used it a lot these past few weeks and sometimes you just have to stop yourself. What is normal for you won’t be for the next person. If you really needed to worry then the private doc would have gone through things and referred you on I’m sure.
Per my original post I had some worrying symptoms and came on here to get others experiences/advice. I’m sure there will be plenty of others that can help with the uterus shaping. I’m so glad I started posting on here.
Keep us updated with the scan! x

Haha, thank you! I was surprised it wasn’t already taken to be honest.

It feels so unfair that people can go to the pub, but not with partners to scans etc. Definitely a good idea to have them close by just in case, mine will be waiting in the car park too.

She did say I needed to mention it to the NHS team as it can cause issues, but didn’t go in to much more detail. Fingers crossed everything will be fine though, I might just have to be consultant led. When is your scan? Xx

Hi @BecaW23 @PopsicleHustler and @Louscarlet @LockedDownKnockedUp
I think that’s everyone that’s new.. (sorry if I missed anyone) and congratulations to you all!

I’m 11 weeks tomorrow, scan is end of next week. Hoping Hubby can come in too. Won’t be the same if he can’t. This is our first baby.

Hope everyone is ok?

@Countrygirlmummy when I went for my scan last week, my husband couldn't come. It's out five year anniversary on 1st August so I've booked us a private scan with ultrasound direct for a gender scan as an anniversary present. They have lots of branches all over the country. If you wait until after 18 weeks (you can have gender scan from 16 weeks) then the price is reduced at £40. Could always do that if your husband can't come. Xx

@Countrygirlmummy hopefully he'll be allowed. My hospital are allowing partners from today and my scans next Wednesday. Hoping nothing changes for my hospital between now and then. I'm 11+4 today scan is at 12+6 and I am terrified of something being wrong but also so excited to see our little baby!

@Countrygirlmummy it's such an anxious time isn't it.. I'm holding on to the fact that my boobs have now been hurting (not massively painful at all) for the last 5 days straight whereas before it was every few days.. So hoping it's a good sign along with my frequent headaches.Still always tired too 😴

What kind of symptoms does everyone else have?

Report
Louscarlet · 06/07/2020 10:05

@LockedDownKnockedUp my scan is 17th so next Friday. I’ll be pretty much 12 weeks to the day that day.
It’s reassuring to hear some hospitals are now allowing partners although obviously I know all the areas vary but ours announced recently no new COVID cases and the maternity block is a totally separate building which must help a bit.
@Pol96 I’ve had every symptom going - nausea, painful boobs, headaches, cramps, spotting, hunger (currently preparing breakfast number 2 Blush), fatigue - feels like the list is endless but everyone is different.
I’m also on the ‘older’ mums thread as I turn 40 soon and this is my first. Lots of different symptoms reported there too.
I wish I could talk to my girlfriends as I’m the last to be pregnant but I’m waiting until my 12 wk scan so coming on here has been such a relief x

@Pol96
I’ve been experiencing Nausea (I have to make sure I don’t get an empty stomach otherwise it kicks in bad), I’m totally off food and I usually love my food, sore/sensitive boobs, tiredness, mild period pain twinges which are infrequent, I think that’s about it.. not too bad compared to what I could be going through.
Sorry you are getting headaches thats rotten.

Report
Pol96 · 06/07/2020 10:16

@Louscarlet my nausea is starting to get better now!! I'm just a bit ahead of you for dates so hopefully yours starts easing up too. I feel hungry a lot but there is literally nothing I want to eat, my oh gets a bit frustrated with it haha!
I'm on the younger mums thread (24) but they're all much further along than me really so not sure about their symptoms. It's funny how everyone can have such varying symptoms and pregnancys, no one is the same.
@Countrygirlmummy I just keep thinking the symptoms could be so much worse, I've got some 4head for the headaches which works well, I just need to reapply lots. And the being off food is not nice is it.. I usually love food too

I've told my closest friends the reactions were wildly different.. One cried (my best friend, she knew we were ttc) one sat there in silence looking extremely shocked and the other quickly changed the topic of conversation.. 😂 It's exactly what I expected to happen..

So many times I’ve typed messages to my one of my closest friends and then deleted it. I just don’t know whether to tell them. I’m terrified something will go wrong and I’d have to tell her that instead but then she’d be supportive either way I guess.
I sort of think I’ve waited this long and haven’t even told my mum so I can hold out another 10 days to (hopefully) be able to share a scan pic etc. In the meantime I’ll just have to come here with any questions etc. Sorry everyone! Grin xx

@Louscarlet I told my mum at 5 weeks 😅 I'm thinking if anything was to go wrong the people who know already are the ones I'd have told anyway.. But fingers crossed we all have a happy and healthy pregnancy and baby! X

Report
Louscarlet · 06/07/2020 11:15

@Pol96 this is true. My reluctance in telling my mum is mainly as we were about to start ivf with her help as I don’t get any freebies at my age. She will be overjoyed of course but I couldn’t bear to then break her heart if it doesn’t work out. I know things can still go wrong after 12 but it’s the initial ‘target’ date.
There’s no right or wrong is there I guess.
I’m seeing a close friend the day before the scan for a (socially distanced) catch up. Perhaps I’ll tell her then x
