@TTC24 I think it's only natural to panic/worry! I'm trying so hard to keep my anxiety down but it is so hard.
I'm not skinny but also not overweight.. My bmi was 23 I think.. I wanted to loose weight lol

@Pol96 me too, I've had to stop my anxiety tablets and try handle it myself which is hard as that's why I was on the tablets😂 glad your finding it okay to handle yours. And at least you've lost some, I'm not looking forward to the weight gain in a few months but will all be worth it x

I've put on 2lbs since finding out, it must be all the beige food I'm eating. Really dont want to put on unnecessary weight though so I'm going to try to watch what I eat now.. goodbye hobnobs 😭

@TTC24 I've always struggled with mental health but always been too scared to go to the doctors about it.. Tbh since finding out I'm pregnant some things have been easier to deal with.. Its just the constant worry.. And no.. I'm not looking forward to the weight gain.. I'm hoping as I've lost so much to start once I've given birth I'll be a normal(ish) weight again lol what times your scan tomorrow?

@Floulou20 ahh hobnobs are great! Haven't had them in ages!

@Pol96 if you are able to cope, then it's your choice if you feel you need extra help. You're doing well! I have suffered with mental health for the past 5 years since I was about 14/15, mainly depression and anxiety. It's spiked recently but I'm trying to stay positive. And the weight gain will all be worth it for our babas. And my scan is 8.50 tomorrow tomorrow, very early but worth it!

@Floulou20 ah well your allowed! Eating for 2 now😉

Had my scan today, all fine! 7w1d so once again earlier than I thought😢😂 due 10th now. Hope everyone is okay.

Quick question, am I safe sitting in the sun? I have read so many things saying yes and so many saying no.

@TTC24 glad all is okay with your baby! I think the sun is fine as long as you use cream and drink plenty of water, try not to let yourself get too hot though.

Aw so glad everything is fine!
All good here just sooooo warm 🥵 got a feeling tonight's going to be a hot one trying to sleep.

Yeah I've read it's fine as long as you don't stay in direct sunlight for long and drink plenty of water, I saw something about baby being 1 degree hotter than you so if your hot baby will be hot x

Hi all, hope you are all ok. I got my scan date yesterday, it’s on 16th July. I’ll be 12weeks 2 days per my dates. I can’t find anything saying Dads can come, really hope they can by then. It’s getting silly, we can mix households, go on holiday, go to the pub, so it will be ridiculous if Dads can’t go to scans! I don’t feel excited because I want to share the moment. Fingers crossed for us all x

@Goldings28 congratulations!! Have you had your scan yet?

Had my first nhs scan Tuesday didn’t go well baby was upside down they couldn’t do the NT test , I am 37 and first baby. So I had a private scan on Saturday had a clearer pic and dr was a lot more patient and it wasn’t easy again and I had a .. Trans vaginal
Scan !! 🤗 baby had strong heart bear and just had blood work back 1/417 chance of down bay so it is considered low risk and I am still going to have a quads test at nhs as they couldn’t offer me another scan .

It's been 2 weeks since my booking appointment and I haven't heard about my scan.. I'll be 12 weeks next week 😕

@Goldings28 aww I'm glad that you've had scans (despite baby not being cooperative!) and got your bloods back already! And I bet you're relieved that you're low risk.. When will you be having the quads test done?

Goldings28 · 29/06/2020 20:37

Hi all, new to mumsnet and first pregnancy! Due late Jan 2021. I'm 39 and it's taken a long time to get here. We were about to go through IVF when I fell naturally. Had some spotting so I paid for a private scan at 8+4 and all fine. Strong heartbeat and measured OK etc.
But I can't stop my anxiety - I've had twinges and period type cramps most days (private doc said if scan was OK then this was just 'normal' for my pregnancy), a tiny bit of pink spotting Saturday just gone which sent me into another panic.
12 wk scan is 17th July - feels like it is taking forever to arrive. How do I get through these next 2.5 wks without driving myself absolutely crazy?! Should I call my midwife? I haven't even spoken to her yet which I find a bit odd that you have literally no contact with them for so long! I had no idea! (Obviously I had my first call at almost 8 wks but it wasn't with my designated MW and I've done my first hospital bloods/urine but was told MW would only be in touch if something was wrong).
I've told my boss as I had the worrying symptoms and she's been through baby traumas herself but I've not told anyone else for fear of something going wrong and having to give the awful update. So I found myself here, hoping for some friendly advice and a chance to let my feelings out - sorry for the long waffly first post! xx.

Not long left now @Pol96.

Hi, @louscarlet. Congratulations, I can't help much as I haven't been through this myself, but I'm sure all is OK. If you get cramps or spot more I'd call midwife and see what they say. Some cramps are normal though as I do get these I think it's stretching of the uterus especially more so with my first. Every twinge I panicked which is normal.

Is anyone on here on baby 2 or more?

@Pol96 I just re-read my message to you, 🤦‍♀️ sorry it didn’t make sense! It was 1 week to get my scan date letter. And yay that you got yours through at last, day before mine!! x

@Countrygirlmummy 😂 I knew what you meant! Oof are scans are close together!

@Louscarlet if you ever have any worries call the midwife or gp. It's a very anxious time.. I was awful with anxiety to begin with and it's getting better but I feel that it'll get worse before the scan too..

@StaceImpactWfan first baby for me!

Hi @StaceImpactWfan And @Louscarlet and congratulations to you both.
So hard not to be anxious, I don’t have much advice to give other than keeping busy as best as you can and advice and support is there so if you do have concerns contact the experts, that’s why they are there.
We’ve all got ours scans so near each other, it won’t be long and we’ll have our minds out at rest.
This is my first pregnancy so I can’t offer anything from any experience... very exciting times for us all.
Oh and little update for those that knew I was in redundancy risk, it happened! ☹️ They didn’t know I was pregnant. I’m 10weeks today and I didn’t want to tell them. So that was truly gutting. I won’t qualify for maternity pay in a new job now due to the qualifying date range. Not a good position to be in. So new job needed ASAP and save save save. x
